Kadede Kap (Pohnpeian New Testament and Psalms)
Douay-Rheims Bible, American Edition (1899)
1A KADEKADEO ni en aramaj toto ar tana don imp a, pwen roneron majan en Kot, a kotikot pon kailan le en Kalilaa,
1And it came to pass, that when the multitudes pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Genesareth,
2Ap majani kijin jop riapot, me peipei nan le o, a jaujed akai keredi janer widen ar uk kai.
2And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.
3I ari kotida pon apot ren jop oko, war en Jimon, kotin poeki re a, en kaiieila ekij jan ni jap o. I ari kaipokedi, kawewe on aramaj jan nan jop o.
3And going into one of the ships that was Simon’s, he desired him to draw back a little from the land. And sitting he taught the multitudes out of the ship.
4I lao kaimwijokela a majan, ap majani on Jimon: Jeijei kowei waja lol, ap kaduedi oma uk kan, pwe koma en jaikidi.
4Now when he had ceased to speak, he said to Simon: Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
5A Jimon japen potoan on i: Main, je laiter pon lao lei waja ran, ap jota jaik at, ari jo ar majan, me i pan kaduekidi uk en.
5And Simon answering said to him: Master, we have labored all the night, and have taken nothing: but at thy word I will let down the net.
6Irail lao wiadar met, rap oro pena mam toto; ara uk ari ola.
6And when they had done this, they enclosed a very great multitude of fishes, and their net broke.
7Irail ari olole kij arail oko, me mi nin apot jop, pwe re en kodo jauaja irail. Irail ari kodo, kadirela jop riapot, ira ari pan mauidi.
7And they beckoned to their partners that were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they were almost sinking.
8Jimon Petruj lao kilaner mepukat, ap poridi jan Iejuj, potoan on: Main, re kotiwei jan ia, pwe aramaj jued amen nai.
8Which when Simon Peter saw, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying: Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord.
9Pwe a puriamuiki o ir karoj, me ian i, pweki jaik ar, me re jaikidi.
9For he was wholly astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken.
10A pil dueta Iakopuj o Ioanej nain Jepedauj ol oko, me ian Jimon. Iejuj ap kotin majani on Jimon: Koe der majak, pwe jan anjau wet kokola koe pan jaikidi aramaj.
10And so were also James and John the sons of Zebedee, who were Simon’s partners. And Jesus saith to Simon: Fear not: from henceforth thou shalt catch men.
11Irail kaikilon on liman jap ar jop oko, re ap kajela karoj, idauendo i.
11And having brought their ships to land, leaving all things, they followed him.
12Kadekadeo ni a kotikot nan eu kanim, kilan, ol amen mia, me dir en tuketuk. A lao kilaner Iejuj, ap pupekidi maj a, poeki re a potoan on: Main, ma re kotin kupura, re pan kak on kamakel ia da.
12And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy, who seeing Jesus, and falling on his face, besought him, saying: Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
13I ari kotin kapawei lim a jair i majani: I men, koe en makelekel. Ari, a tuketuk ma dan modi jan.
13And stretching forth his hand, he touched him, saying: I will. Be thou cleansed. And immediately the leprosy departed from him.
14I ari kotin inapwiedi i, der indan meamen; a kola kajale on pein uk jamero ko, o kida mairon, pweki om makelekeladar, me Mojej majanier, pwen kadede on irail.
14And he charged him that he should tell no man, but, Go, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing according as Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.
15A a madan indand jili o po kon kalaimun pokon pena, pwen ron i o kelailada janar jomau kan
15But the fame of him went abroad the more, and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities.
16I ari kotin kelepela nan jap tan, pwen laolao.
16And he retired into the desert, and prayed.
17And it came to pass on a certain day, as he sat teaching, that there were also Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, that were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judea and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was to heal them.
18A kilan, ol akai roado aramaj amen me kokon madak, rap raparapaki duen ar pan kak walan lole, pwilikidi mo a.
18And behold, men brought in a bed a man, who had the palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him.
19A ni ar jota kak diar waja, me re pan kai don impa pweki pokon o, rap dauda pon im o, kakiridi i nan oj ianaki pet, lao nan pun arail mon Iejuj.
19And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in, because of the multitude, they went up upon the roof, and let him down through the tiles with his bed into the midst before Jesus.
20A lao mani arail pojon, ap kotin majani: Aramaj o, dip om akan lapwa jan uk er.
20Whose faith when he saw, he said: Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.
21A jaunkawewe o Pari jar akan ap monemoneloleki indada: Ij men et, me kin lalaue? Ij me kak lapwada dip akan, pwe Kot eta?
21And the scribes and Pharisees began to think, saying: Who is this who speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?
22A Iejuj lao mani ar monemonelol, ap kotin japen majani on irail: Da me komail kin monemoneloleki lol omail?
22And when Jesus knew their thoughts, answering, he said to them: What is it you think in your hearts?
23Da me monai ren inda, dip om akan lapwa jan uk er, de inda, uda, aluwei?
23Which is easier to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say, Arise and walk?
24A pwe komail en aja, me Nain aramaj manaman on lapada dip akan nin jappa, iei me a kotin majanieki on me kokon madak: I indai on uk, uda, aleki om kola deu om!
24But that you may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) I say to thee, Arise, take up thy bed, and go into thy house.
25A madan uda mo ’rail, kida a pet, me a wonon poa, koieilan im a kapikapina Kot.
25And immediately rising up before them, he took up the bed on which he lay; and he went away to his own house, glorifying God.
26Ir karoj ap puriamui kida o kapikapina Kot, o direkila majak indada: Ran wet kitail kilaner me kapwuriamui mele
26And all were astonished; and they glorified God. And they were filled with fear, saying: We have seen wonderful things today.
27Murin mepukat a kotila jan waja o, ap majani jaunopwei amen ede Lewi momod nan wajan nopwei, ap majan on i: Idauen ia do!
27And after these things he went forth, and saw a publican named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom, and he said to him: Follow me.
28I ari kajela a meakaroj, uda, idauenla i.
28And leaving all things, he rose up and followed him.
29Lewi ari wiada kamadip lapalap on i nan im a; a jaunopwei ape me toto, me ian i ni tepel.
29And Levi made him a great feast in his own house; and there was a great company of publicans, and of others, that were at table with them.
30A Parijar o arail jaunkawewe kan lipaned on japwilim a tounpadak kan indada: Da me komail ianaki jaunopwei o me dipan akan mana o nim.
30But the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying to his disciples: Why do you eat and drink with publicans and sinners?
31Iejuj ap kotin japen majani on irail: Me kelail jota mau on jaunwini, pwe me jomau kan.
31And Jesus answering, said to them: They that are whole, need not the physician: but they that are sick.
32I kodon ekeker don kalula me dipan akan a kaidin me pun kan.
32I came not to call the just, but sinners to penance.
33Irail ap potoan on i: Da me tounpadak en Ioanej akan kaijejol pan pak toto o re kapakap toto, o pil dueta en Parijar akan, a japwilim omui kan kin tunole o nim?
33And they said to him: Why do the disciples of John fast often, and make prayers, and the disciples of the Pharisees in like manner; but thine eat and drink?
34A Iejuj kotin majani on irail: O komail jota kak ki on toun kapar en kamadip en kapapaud en kaijejol arain ol kamod mi re ’rail!
34To whom he said: Can you make the children of the bridegroom fast, whilst the bridegroom is with them?
35A eu ran ol kamod pan peuka wei jan irail, i ran oko re ap pan kaijejol.
35But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, then shall they fast in those days.
36A kotin majani on irail karajeraj eu: Jota me kin deik on likau kap ni likau marin; a ma ei, a pan ter pajan likau kap; a kijan likau kap pil jota pan paroki on likau marin.
36And he spoke also a similitude to them: That no man putteth a piece from a new garment upon an old garment; otherwise he both rendeth the new, and the piece taken from the new agreeth not with the old.
37A jota me kin kodie on wain kap nan ed marin; a ma ei, wain kap pan ter pajan ed akan, ap wudokila o ed akan pan ola.
37And no man putteth new wine into old bottle: otherwise the new wine will break the bottles, and it will be spilled, and the bottles will be lost.
38A re kin kodie on wain kap nan ed kap, ira karoj ap nekinek mau.
38But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.
39O jota, me kin nim jan wain marin, pan mauki wain kap, pwe a kin inda: Me marin o me mau jan.
39And no man drinking old, hath presently a mind to new: for he saith, The old is better.
