1ဧဖရိမ် လူ တို့က၊ သင်သည် မိဒျန် လူတို့ကို တိုက် သွား သောအခါ ၊ ငါ တို့ကို မ ခေါ် ဘဲ ငါ တို့၌ အဘယ်သို့ ပြု သနည်းဟု ကျပ်ကျပ် အပြစ်တင် ကြ၏။
1And the men of Ephraim said to him: What is this that thou meanest to do, that thou wouldst not call us when thou wentest to fight against Madian? and they chid him sharply and almost offered violence.
2ဂိဒေါင်ကလည်း၊ သင် တို့ပြုသကဲ့သို့ ငါသည် အဘယ်သို့ ပြု ပြီးသနည်း။ အဗျေဇာ စပျစ်သီး သိမ်းခြင်းထက် ဧဖရိမ် လိုက်ကောက် ခြင်းသည် သာ၍ကောင်း သည်မဟုတ် လော။
2And he answered them: What could I have done like to that which you have done? Is not one bunch of grapes of Ephraim better than the vintages of Abiezer?
3ဘုရား သခင်သည် မိဒျန် ဗိုလ်ချုပ် ဩရဘ နှင့် ဇေဘ တို့ကို သင် တို့လက် ၌ အပ် တော်မူပြီ။ သင် တို့ပြုသကဲ့သို့ ငါသည် အဘယ်သို့ ပြု နိုင် သနည်းဟု ပြန်ပြောသောစကား ကို သူတို့သည် ကြားသောအခါ စိတ် ပြေ ကြ၏။
3The Lord hath delivered into your bands the princes of Madian, Oreb and Zeb: what could I have done like to what you have done? And when he had said this, their spirit was appeased, with which they swelled against him.
4ဂိဒေါင် သည် ယော်ဒန် မြစ်သို့ ရောက် သောအခါ ၊ သူ ၌ ရှိသော သူ သုံး ရာ တို့သည် ပင်ပန်း လျက်နှင့် ကူး ၍ လိုက် ကြ၏။
4And when Gedeon was come to the Jordan, he passed over it with the three hundred men, that were with him: who were so weary that they could not pursue after them that fled.
5သုကုတ် မြို့သား တို့အား လည်း ၊ ငါ့ နောက် လိုက်သောသူ တို့အား မုန့် ကိုပေး ကြပါလော့။ သူ တို့သည် ပင်ပန်း ကြပြီ။ ငါ သည် မိဒျန် မင်းကြီး ဇေဘဟ နှင့် ဇာလမုန္န ကို ယခု လိုက် ရှာပါ၏ဟု တောင်း သော်လည်း၊
5And he said to the men of Soccoth: Give, I beseech you, bread to the people that is with me, for they are faint: that we may pursue Zebee, and Salmana the kings of Madian.
6သုကုတ် မင်း တို့က၊ ငါတို့သည် သင့် အမှုထမ်း တို့အား မုန့် ကိုပေး ရမည်အကြောင်း ၊ ဇေဘဟ နှင့် ဇာလမုန္န သည် သင့် လက် ၌ ရှိသလောဟု ပြန်ပြော ကြ၏။
6The princes of Soccoth answered: Peradventure the palms of the hands of Zebee and Salmana are in thy hand, and therefore thou demandest that we should give bread to thy army.
7ဂိဒေါင် ကလည်း ၊ သို့ဖြစ်၍ ထာဝရဘုရား သည် ဇေဘဟ နှင့် ဇာလမုန္န တို့ကို ငါ့ လက် ၌ အပ် တော်မူသောအခါ ၊ သင် တို့ကျော ကွဲအောင် တော ဆူး ပင်အမျိုးမျိုးနှင့် ငါ ရိုက်မည်ဟုဆို ပြီးလျှင်၊
7And he said to them: When the Lord therefore shall have delivered Zebee and Salmana into my hands, I will thresh your flesh with the thorns and briers of the desert.
8ထိုအရပ်ကပေနွေလ မြို့သို့ သွား ၍ ၊ သူ တို့အား ထို နည်းတူ တောင်း သော်လည်း ၊ သုကုတ် မြို့သား တို့ ပြန်ပြော သည်နည်းတူ ၊ ပေနွေလ မြို့သား တို့သည် ပြန်ပြော ကြ၏။
8And going up from thence, he came to Phanuel: and he spoke the like things to the men of that place. And they also answered him, as the men of Soccoth had answered.
9ဂိဒေါင်ကလည်း ၊ ငါ သည် တဖန် ငြိမ်ဝပ် စွာ လာသောအခါ ၊ ဤ ရဲတိုက် ကို ဖြိုဖျက် မည်ဟု သူ တို့အား ဆို ၏။
9He said therefore to them also: When I shall return a conqueror in peace, I will destroy this tower.
10ထိုအခါ ထား ကိုင် သော လူ တသိန်း နှစ်သောင်းသေ သောကြောင့် ၊ အရှေ့ မျက်နှာအရပ်သား အပေါင်း တို့တွင် ကျန် ကြွင်းသော လူတသောင်း ငါးထောင်ခန့် မျှသာပါ လျက်၊ ဇေဘဟ နှင့် ဇာလမုန္န တို့သည် ကာကော် မြို့၌ ရှိကြ၏။
10But Zebee and Salmana were resting with all their army. For fifteen thousand men were left of all the troops of the eastern people, and one hundred and twenty thousand warriors that drew the sword, were slain.
11ဂိဒေါင် သည် နောဗာ မြို့၊ ယုဗ္ဗေဟ မြို့အရှေ့ ၊ တဲ ၌ နေ သူတို့လမ်း ဖြင့် ချီ သွား၍ ၊ မ စိုးရိမ်ဘဲနေ သောမိဒျန်တပ် ကို လုပ်ကြံ သဖြင့်၊
11And Gedeon went up by the way of them that dwelt in tents, on the east of Nobe and Jegbaa, and smote the camp of the enemies, who were secure, and suspected no hurt.
12မိဒျန် မင်းကြီး ဇေဘဟ နှင့် ဇာလမုန္န ပြေး သောအခါ ၊ ဂိဒေါင်သည် လိုက် ၍ တပ် ကို ဖျက် လေ၏။
12And Zebee and Salmana fled, and Gedeon pursued and took them, all their host being put in confusion.
13ယောရှ သား ဂိဒေါင် သည် နေမထွက်မှီ စစ်တိုက် ရာမှ ပြန်လာ ၍၊
13And returning from the battle before the sun rising,
14သုကုတ် မြို့သား လုလင် တယောက်ကို ဘမ်းမိ ၍ မေး စစ်လျှင် ၊ ထိုသူသည်သုကုတ် မြို့အရာရှိ ၊ အသက်ကြီး သူခုနစ်ဆယ် ခုနစ် ယောက်တို့၏ အမည်အသီးအသီးတို့ကို ပြော လေ၏။
14He took a boy of the men of Soccoth: and he asked him the names of the princes and ancients of Soccoth, and he described unto him seventy-seven men.
15ဂိဒေါင်သည်လည်း ၊ သုကုတ် မြို့သား တို့ရှိရာသို့ လာ ၍ ၊ သင်တို့က၊ ပင်ပန်း သော သင့် အမှုထမ်း တို့အား ငါတို့သည် မုန့် ကိုပေး ရမည်အကြောင်း ၊ ဇေဘဟ နှင့် ဇာလမုန္န သည် သင့် လက် ၌ ရှိသလောဟု ငါ့ ကို ကဲ့ရဲ့ ၍ သင်တို့ပြော သော ဇေဘဟ နှင့် ဇာလမုန္န ကို ကြည့် ကြလော့ဟုဆို လျက်၊
15And he came to Soccoth and said to them: Behold Zebee and Salmana, concerning whom you upbraided me, saying: Peradventure the hands of Zebee and Salmana, are in thy hands, and therefore thou demandest that we should give bread to the men that are weary and faint.
16ထိုမြို့ ၌ အသက်ကြီး သူတို့ကို ခေါ် ၍ တော ဆူး ပင်အမျိုးမျိုးနှင့် သုကုတ် မြို့သား တို့ကို ဆုံးမ လေ၏။
16So he took the ancients of the city and thorns and briers of the desert, and tore them with the same, and cut in pieces the men of Soccoth.
17ပေနွေလ မြို့ ရဲတိုက် ကိုလည်း ဖြိုဖျက် ၍ မြို့ သား တို့ကို ကွပ်မျက် လေ၏။
17And he demolished the tower of Phanuel, and slew the men of the city.
18ထိုအခါ ဇေဘဟ နှင့် ဇာလမုန္န တို့အား တာဗော် မြို့မှာ သင်တို့သတ် ခဲ့သောသူ တို့ သည် အဘယ်သို့ သောသူဖြစ်သနည်းဟု မေးမြန်း သော်၊ ထိုသူတို့က၊ ကိုယ်တော် ဖြစ်သကဲ့သို့ သူ တို့ရှိသမျှ သည်ဖြစ်၍၊ ရှင်ဘုရင် သား ၏ အဆင်း အရောင်နှင့် ပြည့်စုံကြပါ၏ဟု ပြန်ပြော သော်၊
18And he said to Zebee and Salmana: What manner of men were they whom you slew in Thabor? They answered: They were like thee, and one of them as the son of a king.
19ဂိဒေါင်က၊ ထိုသူ တို့သည် ငါ့ အမိ ၏သား ၊ ငါ့ ညီ ဖြစ်ပါသည်တကား၊ ထာဝရဘုရား အသက် ရှင်တော်မူသည်အတိုင်း၊ သင်တို့သည် သူ တို့ကို အသက် ချမ်းသာပေးမိလျှင် ၊ သင် တို့ကို ငါမ သတ် ဘဲ နေလိမ့်မည်ဟု၊
19He answered them: They were my brethren, the sons of my mother. As the Lord liveth, if you had saved them, I would not kill you.
20မိမိ သားဦး ယေသာ အား ၊ ဤသူ တို့ကို ထ ၍ သတ် လော့ဟုဆို သော်လည်း ၊ သား သည် အသက်အရွယ်ငယ် သောကြောင့် ၊ ထား ကို မ ဆွဲ မထုတ်ဘဲနေ၏။
20And he said to Jether his eldest son: Arise, and slay them. But he drew not his sword: for he was afraid, being but yet a boy.
21ဇေဘဟ နှင့် ဇာလမုန္န တို့ကလည်း ၊ ကိုယ်တော် တိုင်ထ ၍ ငါ တို့ကို လုပ်ကြံ လော့။ လူ ဖြစ်သကဲ့သို့ သူ့ အစွမ်း သတ္တိဖြစ်တတ်သည်ဟုဆိုလျှင်၊ ဂိဒေါင် သည် ထ ၍ ဇေဘဟ နှင့် ဇာလမုန္န ကို သတ် သဖြင့် ၊ သူ တို့ ကုလားအုပ် ၏ လည်ပင်း ၌ ဆင်သော တန်ဆာ တို့ကို ချွတ် ယူလေ၏။
21And Zebee and Salmana said: Do thou rise, and run upon us: because the strength of a man is according to his age: Gedeon rose up and slew Zebee and Salmana: and he took the ornaments and bosses, with which the necks of the camels of kings are wont to be adorned.
22ထိုအခါ ဣသရေလ လူတို့က၊ ကိုယ်တော်သည် အကျွန်ုပ် တို့ကို မိဒျန် လူတို့လက် မှ ကယ်နှုတ် သောကြောင့် ၊ သားစဉ်မြေးဆက် နှင့်တကွ အကျွန်ုပ် တို့ကို အုပ်စိုး တော်မူပါဟု၊ ဂိဒေါင် အား လျှောက် ဆိုကြသော်၊
22And all the men of Israel said to Gedeon: Rule thou over us and thy son, and thy son’s son: because thou hast delivered us from the hand of Madian.
23ဂိဒေါင် က၊ ငါ သည် သင် တို့ကို မ အုပ်စိုး ရ။ ငါ့ သား လည်း မ အုပ်စိုး ရ။ ထာဝရဘုရား သည် သင် တို့ကို အုပ်စိုး တော်မူရ၏ဟူ၍၎င်း၊
23And he said to them: I will not rule over you, neither shall my son rule over you, but the Lord shall rule over you.
24သို့ရာတွင် သင်တို့ရှိသမျှ သည် လု ယူ၍ ရသောနားတောင်း တို့ကိုပေး ပါမည်အကြောင်း ၊ ငါတောင်း ချင်သည်ဟူ၍၎င်း ဆို လေ၏။ ရန်သူ တို့သည် ဣရှမေလ အမျိုးဖြစ်၍ ရွှေ နားတောင်း ကို ဆင်တတ်ကြသတည်း။
24And he said to them: I desire one request of you: Give me the earlets of your spoils. For the Ismaelites were accustomed to wear golden earlets.
25သူတို့ကလည်း၊ စင်စစ်ပေး ပါမည်ဟုဆို လျက် စောင် ကို ခင်း ၍ ၊ လူအပေါင်းတို့သည် မိမိ တို့ လု ယူ၍ ရသောနားတောင်း များကို ချ ထားကြ၏။
25They answered: We will give them most willingly. And spreading a mantle on the ground, they cast upon it the earlets of the spoils.
26ဂိဒေါင်တောင်း သော ရွှေ နားတောင်း များ အချိန် ကား၊ အခွက်တဆယ်ခုနစ် ပိဿာရှိ ၏။ ထို မှတပါး၊ မိဒျန် မင်းကြီး ဝတ်ဆင်သော တန်ဆာ ၊ လည်ဆွဲ ၊ နီမောင်း သောအဝတ် ၊ ကုလားအုပ် လည် ကြိုး များကို ရသေး၏။
26And the weight of the earlets that he requested, was a thousand seven hundred sicles of gold, besides the ornaments, and jewels, and purple raiment which the kings of Madian were went to use, and besides the golden chains that were about the camels’ necks.
27ထိုတန်ဆာတို့နှင့် ဂိဒေါင် သည် သင်တိုင်း တော်ကို လုပ် ၍ မိမိ နေရာ ဩဖရ မြို့မှာ ထား သဖြင့် ၊ ဣသရေလ အမျိုးသားအပေါင်း တို့သည် ထိုသင်တိုင်းတော်နှင့် မှားယွင်း လျက် သွားတတ်ကြ၏။ ထိုအမှုသည် ဂိဒေါင် နှင့် သူ ၏အမျိုး ပြစ်မှား ရာအကြောင်း ဖြစ် သတည်း။
27And Gedeon made an ephod thereof, and put it in his city Ephra. And all Israel committed fornication with it, and it became a ruin to Gedeon and to all his house.
28ထိုသို့ မိဒျန် အမျိုးသည် ဣသရေလ အမျိုးရှေ့ မှာ ရှုံး ၍ ၊ နောက်တဖန် အစိုး မ ရဘဲ နေကြ၏။ ဂိဒေါင် လက်ထက် အနှစ် လေးဆယ် တိုင်တိုင်တပြည် လုံးငြိမ်း လေ၏။
28But Madian was humbled before the children of Israel, neither could they any more lift up their beads: but the land rested for forty years, while Gedeon presided.
29ယောရှ သား ယေရုဗ္ဗာလ သည် မိမိ အိမ် သို့ သွား ၍ နေ သတည်း။
29So Jerobaal the son of Joas went, and dwelt in his own house.
30ဂိဒေါင် သည် မယား များ ၍ ၊ ကိုယ် ရ သောသား ခုနစ်ဆယ် ရှိ ၏။
30And he had seventy sons, who came out of his thigh, for he had many wives.
31ရှေခင် မြို့၌ နေသောမယားငယ် သည် သား ယောက်ျားကို ဘွားမြင် ၍ ၊ ထိုသားကို အဘိမလက် အမည် ဖြင့် မှည့် လေ၏။
31And his concubine, that he had in Sichem, bore him a son, whose name was Abimelech.
32ယောရှ သား ဂိဒေါင် သည် အသက် ကြီးရင့်သော် အနိစ္စရောက် ၍ ၊ အဗျေဇာ သားနေရာ ဩဖရ မြို့မှာ ၊ အဘ ယောရှ သင်္ချိုင်း ၌ သင်္ဂြိုဟ် ခြင်းကို ခံရလေ၏။
32And Gedeon the son of Joas died in a good old age, and was buried in the sepulchre of his father in Ephra of the family of Ezri.
33ဂိဒေါင် သေ သောအခါ ၊ ဣသရေလ အမျိုးသားတို့သည် ဖောက်ပြန် ၍ ဗာလ ဘုရားတို့နှင့် မှားယွင်း သဖြင့် ၊ ဗာလဗေရိတ် ကို ဘုရား အရာ ၌ ချီးမြှောက် ကြ၏။
33But after Gedeon was dead, the children of Israel turned again, and committed fornication with Baalim. And they made a covenant with Baal, that he should be their god:
34ပတ်ဝန်းကျင် ရန်သူ လက် မှ ကယ်နှုတ် တော်မူသောမိမိ တို့ဘုရား သခင်ထာဝရဘုရား ကို မ အောက်မေ့ ဘဲ၊
34And they remembered not the Lord their God, who delivered them out of the hands of all their enemies round about:
35ဂိဒေါင် တည်းဟူသောယေရုဗ္ဗာလ သည် ဣသရေလ အမျိုး၌ ပြု သမျှ သော ကျေးဇူး နှင့်အညီ ၊ သူ၏အမျိုး ၌ ကျေးဇူး တုံ့ကို ပြန်၍ မ ပြု ဘဲနေကြ၏။
35Neither did they shew mercy to the house of Jerobaal Gedeon, according to all the good things he had done to Israel.
