Old Persian Version (ترجمه قدیم)
1For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;
1زیرا می‌خواهم شما آگاه باشید که مرا چه نوع اجتهاد است برای شما و اهل لاودکیه و آنانی که صورت مرا در جسم ندیده‌اند،
2That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
2تا دلهای ایشان تسلی یابد و ایشان در محبت پیوند شده، به دولت یقین فهم تمام و به معرفت سر خدا برسند؛
3In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
3یعنی سر مسیح که در وی تمامی خزاین حکمت و علم مخفی است.
4And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.
4امااین را می‌گویم تا هیچ‌کس شما را به سخنان دلاویز اغوا نکند،
5For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.
5زیرا که هرچند در جسم غایبم لیکن در روح با شما بوده، شادی می‌کنم ونظم و استقامت ایمانتان را در مسیح نظاره می‌کنم.
6As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
6پس چنانکه مسیح عیسی خداوند راپذیرفتید، در وی رفتار نمایید،
7Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
7که در او ریشه کرده و بنا شده و در ایمان راسخ گشته‌اید، بطوری که تعلیم یافته‌اید و در آن شکرگزاری بسیارمی نمایید.
8Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
8باخبر باشید که کسی شما را نرباید به فلسفه و مکر باطل، برحسب تقلید مردم وبرحسب اصول دنیوی نه برحسب مسیح،
9For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
9که دروی از جهت جسم، تمامی پری الوهیت ساکن است.
10And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
10و شما در وی تکمیل شده‌اید که سرتمامی ریاست و قدرت است.
11In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
11و در وی مختون شده‌اید، به ختنه ناساخته به‌دست یعنی بیرون کردن بدن جسمانی، بوسیله اختتان مسیح.
12Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
12و با وی در تعمید مدفون گشتید که در آن هم برخیزانیده شدید به ایمان بر عمل خدا که او را ازمردگان برخیزانید.
13And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
13و شما را که در خطایا ونامختونی جسم خود مرده بودید، با او زنده گردانید چونکه همه خطایای شما را آمرزید،
14Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
14و آن دستخطی را که ضد ما و مشتمل برفرایض و به خلاف ما بود محو ساخت و آن را به صلیب خود میخ زده از میان برداشت.
15And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
15و ازخویشتن ریاسات و قوات را بیرون کرده، آنها راعلانیه آشکار نمود، چون در آن بر آنها ظفریافت.
16Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days :
16پس کسی درباره خوردن و نوشیدن ودرباره عید و هلال و سبت بر شما حکم نکند،
17Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
17زیرا که اینها سایه چیزهای آینده است، لیکن بدن از آن مسیح است.
18Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
18و کسی انعام شما رانرباید از رغبت به فروتنی و عبادت فرشتگان ومداخلت در اموری که دیده است که از ذهن جسمانی خود بی‌جا مغرور شده است؛
19And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
19و به‌سر متمسک نشده که از آن تمامی بدن به توسطمفاصل و بندها مدد یافته و با هم پیوند شده، نمومی کند به نموی که از خداست.
20Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
20چونکه بامسیح از اصول دنیوی مردید، چگونه است که مثل زندگان در دنیا بر شما فرایض نهاده می‌شود؟
21(Touch not; taste not; handle not;
21که لمس مکن و مچش بلکه دست مگذار!
22Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?
22(که همه اینها محض استعمال فاسد می‌شود)برحسب تقالید و تعالیم مردم،
23Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.
23که چنین چیزهاهرچند در عبادت نافله و فروتنی و آزار بدن صورت حکمت دارد، ولی فایده‌ای برای رفع تن پروری ندارد.
