King James Version with Apocrypha
Asang Khongca Bible (Eastern Khumi Chin, 2019)
1And after five days Ananias the high priest descended with the elders, and with a certain orator named Tertullus, who informed the governor against Paul.
1Ni pangato oh pacoengah kalen koek qaima Ananias loe kacoehta thoemto kaminawk, lokthui kop Tertullus hoi nawnto angzoh moe, prae ukkung hma ah Pawl to zaehaih net o.
2And when he was called forth, Tertullus began to accuse him , saying, Seeing that by thee we enjoy great quietness, and that very worthy deeds are done unto this nation by thy providence,
2Pawl to a thungah kawk o naah, Tertulla mah Filix hma ah Pawl kawng to thuih pae, na ukhaih thungah kamongta ah ka oh o, hae kaminawk mah kahoih na khokhanhaih to hnuk o,
3We accept it always, and in all places, most noble Felix, with all thankfulness.
3kahoih koek Filix, na hoihhaih to ahmuen kruekah kawnhaih hoiah ka talawk o poe.
4Notwithstanding, that I be not further tedious unto thee, I pray thee that thou wouldest hear us of thy clemency a few words.
4Toe tahngaih nang paqak pae han ai ah kang thuih o ih lok zetta hae, nang tahngaih pae thai hanah tahmenhaih kang hnik.
5For we have found this man a pestilent fellow , and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:
5Anih loe Nazareth bokhaih abu maeto zaehoikung ah oh moe, long pum ah kaom Judahnawk poekhaih amkhraeng hanah sahkung, hae kahoih ai kami hae ka hnuk o boeh:
6Who also hath gone about to profane the temple: whom we took, and would have judged according to our law.
6hae kami loe tempul amhnongsak kami ah oh: anih hae ka naeh o moe, kaimacae ih daan baktiah lokcaek han ka koeh o.
7But the chief captain Lysias came upon us , and with great violence took him away out of our hands,
7Toe misatuh angraeng Lysia to kaicae khaeah angzoh moe, tha patohhaih hoiah kaicae ban thung hoi anih to lak ving,
8Commanding his accusers to come unto thee: by examining of whom thyself mayest take knowledge of all these things, whereof we accuse him.
8anih zae net kaminawk nang khaeah caeh o hanah a thuih pae; anih lok na caek naah, anih han ka net o ih hmuennawk to na panoek boih tih hmang, tiah a naa.
9And the Jews also assented, saying that these things were so.
9Judah kaminawk mah doeh hae hmuennawk hae amsoem, tiah angdoet o haih.
10Then Paul, after that the governor had beckoned unto him to speak, answered, Forasmuch as I know that thou hast been of many years a judge unto this nation, I do the more cheerfully answer for myself:
10Prae ukkung mah lokthuih hanah Pawl to angmathaih paek naah, Pawl mah, Saning paroeai thung hae prae ukkung ah na oh, tito ka panoek, to pongah oephaih hoiah kaimah angvaenghaih lok ka thuih han:
11Because that thou mayest understand, that there are yet but twelve days since I went up to Jerusalem for to worship.
11Sithaw bok hanah Jerusalem ah ka caehhaih ni loe hatlai hnetto mataeng doeh akoep ai vop, tito na panoek tih.
12And they neither found me in the temple disputing with any man, neither raising up the people, neither in the synagogues, nor in the city:
12Kai loe sineko thungah maw, vangpui thungah maw, amkhueng kaminawk hoiah maw lok angaek, tito kai hnukung nihcae thungah om ai:
13Neither can they prove the things whereof they now accuse me.
13kai zae ang net o haih hmuennawk doeh nihcae mah amtueng o sak thai ai.
14But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:
14Kai loe kam panawk ih Sithaw bok kami ah ka oh, toe nihcae mah loe kamsoem ai bokhaih ni, tiah a thuih o, tito na hma ah amtuengsak han ka koeh, kaalok Cabu hoi tahmaanawk mah tarik ih Cabu thungah kaom hmuennawk boih tang kami ah ka oh.
15And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.
15Katoeng hoi katoeng ai kaminawk angthawk lethaih to om tih, tiah nihcae mah tang o baktih toengah, Sithaw ah oephaih tawn kami ah ka oh toeng.
16And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.
16To pongah poekciim moe, Sithaw hoi kaminawk koeh ai ih hmuen sak han ai ah, tha pathok toepsoep kami ah ka oh.
17Now after many years I came to bring alms to my nation, and offerings.
17Saning paroeai laemh pacoengah, amtang kaminawk abomhaih hmuen hoi Sithaw khae tathlang ih hmuennawk to kaimah ih kaminawk paek hanah, Jerusalem vangpui ah ka caeh.
18Whereupon certain Jews from Asia found me purified in the temple, neither with multitude, nor with tumult.
18Kami amkhuenghaih om ai, lok angaekhaih doeh om ai ah, tempul thungah ciimcaihaih ka sak naah, Asia prae thungah kaom Judahnawk mah kai ang hnuk o.
19Who ought to have been here before thee, and object, if they had ought against me.
19To Judahnawk mah kai zae net han koeh o nahaeloe, hae ah na hma ah angzoh o han oh.
20Or else let these same here say, if they have found any evil doing in me, while I stood before the council,
20To tih ai boeh loe lokcaekhaih hma ah kang doet naah, ka sakpazaehaih hnu o nahaeloe, haeah kaom kaminawk mah thuih o han oh,
21Except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you this day.
22And when Felix heard these things, having more perfect knowledge of that way, he deferred them, and said, When Lysias the chief captain shall come down, I will know the uttermost of your matter.
22Filix mah hae lok to thaih naah, to loklam to kahoihah panoek pongah misatuh angraeng Lysia angzoh naah, nang kawng hae ka thuih han, tiah a naa moe, atue to pathuih pae.
23And he commanded a centurion to keep Paul, and to let him have liberty, and that he should forbid none of his acquaintance to minister or come unto him.
23Misatuh cumvaito ukkung khaeah, Pawl to thongim pakhrah ai ah, kamhoe ah ohsak, anih khae paqai angmah ih ampuinawk mah caaknaek paek o naah, pakaa pae han ai ah lok a paek.
24And after certain days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, which was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ.
24Ni nazetto maw akra pacoengah, Filix loe Judah kami ah kaom, a zu Drusilla hoi nawnto angzoh, Pawl to kawksak pacoengah, Jesu Kri tanghaih kawng to a thuihsak, a thuih ih lok to anih mah tahngaih pae.
25And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.
25Pawl mah toenghaih, angsumhaih hoi angzo han koi lokcaekhaih kawng to thuih pae naah, Filix loe zit moe, vaihi loe hae zetto mah rae soe, caeh rae ah, atue kahoih ka hnuk naah, kang kawk let han hmang, tiah a naa.
26He hoped also that money should have been given him of Paul, that he might loose him: wherefore he sent for him the oftener, and communed with him.
26Pawl mah loih thai hanah phoisa na paek tih, tiah a poek pongah, Pawl to kawk moe, lok apaeh haih toepsoep.
27But after two years Porcius Festus came into Felix’ room: and Felix, willing to shew the Jews a pleasure, left Paul bound.
27Toe saning hnetto akoep pacoengah loe, Filix ih ahmuen to Porcius Festa mah lak: toe Filix loe Judah kaminawk palung tonghsak han koeh pongah, Paul to thongim ah pakhrak.
