1(2-2) A maul is come up before thy face; guard the defences, watch the way, make thy loins strong, fortify thy power mightily! —
1尼尼微 啊，那打碎 邦國 的上來攻擊你。 你要看守保障，謹防道路， 使腰強壯，大大勉力。 （
2(2-3) For the LORD restoreth the pride of Jacob, as the pride of Israel; for the emptiers have emptied them out, and marred their vine-branches. —
2耶和華復興 雅各 的榮華， 好像 以色列 的榮華一樣； 因為使地空虛的， 已經使 雅各 和 以色列 空虛， 將他們的葡萄枝毀壞了。）
3(2-4) The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet; the chariots are fire of steel in the day of his preparation, and the cypress spears are made to quiver.
3他勇士的盾牌是紅的， 精兵都穿朱紅 衣服 。 在他預備 爭戰 的日子， 戰車上的鋼鐵閃爍如火， 柏木把的 槍 也掄起來了。
4(2-5) The chariots rush madly in the streets, they jostle one against another in the broad places; the appearance of them is like torches, they run to and fro like the lightnings.
4車輛在街上急行， 在寬闊處奔來奔去， 形狀如火把， 飛跑如閃電。
5(2-6) He bethinketh himself of his worthies; they stumble in their march; they make haste to the wall thereof, and the mantelet is prepared.
5尼尼微 王招聚他的貴冑； 他們步行絆跌， 速上城牆，預備擋牌。
6(2-7) The gates of the rivers are opened, and the palace is dissolved.
6河閘開放，宮殿沖沒。
7(2-8) And the queen is uncovered, she is carried away, and her handmaids moan as with the voice of doves, tabering upon their breasts.
7王后蒙羞，被人擄去； 宮女搥胸，哀鳴如鴿。 此乃命定之事。
8(2-9) But Nineveh hath been from of old like a pool of water; yet they flee away; 'Stand, stand'; but none looketh back.
8尼尼微 自古以來 充滿人民 ， 如同聚水的池子； 現在居民卻都逃跑。 雖有人呼喊說 ：站住！站住！ 卻無人回顧。
9(2-10) Take ye the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold; for there is no end of the store, rich with all precious vessels.
9你們搶掠金銀吧！ 因為所積蓄的無窮， 華美的寶器無數。
10(2-11) She is empty, and void, and waste; and the heart melteth, and the knees smite together, and convulsion is in all loins, and the faces of them all have gathered blackness.
10尼尼微 現在空虛荒涼， 人心消化，雙膝相碰， 腰都疼痛，臉都變色。
11(2-12) Where is the den of the lions, which was the feeding-place of the young lions, where the lion and the lioness walked, and the lion's whelp, and none made them afraid?
11獅子的洞和少壯獅子餵養之處在哪裏呢？ 公獅母獅小獅遊行、無人驚嚇之地在哪裏呢？
12(2-13) The lion did tear in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his caves with prey, and his dens with ravin.
12公獅為小獅撕碎許多食物， 為母獅掐死活物， 把撕碎的、掐死的充滿牠的洞穴。
13(2-14) Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions; and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.
13萬軍之耶和華說：「我與你為敵，必將你的車輛焚燒成煙，刀劍也必吞滅你的少壯獅子。我必從地上除滅你所撕碎的，你使者的聲音必不再聽見。」
