1再び、主の言葉が私に臨んだ。
1The LORD’s word came again to me, saying,
2「人の子よ、一人の母から生まれた二人の女がいた。
2“Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother.
3彼女たちはエジプトで淫行を行い、若い時から淫行を行った。そこで彼女たちの乳房はもてあそばれ、若い乳首は愛撫された。
3They played the prostitute in Egypt. They played the prostitute in their youth. Their breasts were fondled there, and their youthful nipples were caressed there.
4姉の名はオホラ、妹の名はオホリバであった。彼女たちはわたしのものとなり、息子や娘を産んだ。その名について言えば、オホラはサマリア、オホリバはエルサレムである。
4Their names were Oholah the elder, and Oholibah her sister. They became mine, and they bore sons and daughters. As for their names, Samaria is Oholah, and Jerusalem Oholibah.
5オホラはわたしのものでありながら淫行を行った。彼女は愛人たち、近隣のアッシリア人を慕った。
5“Oholah played the prostitute when she was mine. She doted on her lovers, on the Assyrians her neighbors,
6彼らは青い衣をまとった総督や支配者であり、皆、魅力的な若者で、馬に乗る騎兵であった。
6who were clothed with blue—governors and rulers, all of them desirable young men, horsemen riding on horses.
7彼女は彼ら、すなわちアッシリアの選り抜きの男たちすべてを相手に淫行を行った。慕った者が持つすべての偶像によって自分を汚した。
7She gave herself as a prostitute to them, all of them the choicest men of Assyria. She defiled herself with the idols of whomever she lusted after.
8彼女はエジプトを出てからも、そこでの淫行をやめなかった。若い時、彼らは彼女と寝て、若い乳首を愛撫し、彼女に淫行を注ぎかけたからである。
8She hasn’t left her prostitution since leaving Egypt; for in her youth they lay with her. They caressed her youthful nipples and they poured out their prostitution on her.
9それゆえ、わたしは彼女を愛人たちの手、彼女が慕ったアッシリア人の手に渡した。
9“Therefore I delivered her into the hand of her lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians on whom she doted.
10彼らは彼女の裸をあらわにし、息子や娘を奪い、彼女を剣で殺した。彼女は女たちの間で語り草となった。彼らが彼女に裁きを行ったからである。
10These uncovered her nakedness. They took her sons and her daughters, and they killed her with the sword. She became a byword among women; for they executed judgments on her.
11妹のオホリバはこれを見た。それでも、彼女は情欲の面で姉以上に堕落し、その淫行は姉の淫行よりもさらにひどかった。
11“Her sister Oholibah saw this, yet she was more corrupt in her lusting than she, and in her prostitution which was more depraved than the prostitution of her sister.
12彼女はアッシリア人を慕った。彼らは近隣の総督や支配者で、華麗な衣をまとい、馬に乗る騎兵であり、皆、魅力的な若者であった。
12She lusted after the Assyrians, governors and rulers—her neighbors, clothed most gorgeously, horsemen riding on horses, all of them desirable young men.
13わたしは彼女が汚れたのを見た。二人とも同じ道を歩んだ。
13I saw that she was defiled. They both went the same way.
14彼女はさらに淫行を増し加えた。壁に描かれた男たち、朱色で描かれたカルデア人の像を見たからである。
14“She increased her prostitution; for she saw men portrayed on the wall, the images of the Chaldeans portrayed with red,
15彼らは腰に帯を締め、頭にはゆったりと垂れたターバンを着け、皆、君主たちのように見えた。彼らの生まれた地、カルデアのバビロン人の姿であった。
15dressed with belts on their waists, with flowing turbans on their heads, all of them looking like princes, after the likeness of the Babylonians in Chaldea, the land of their birth.
16彼女は彼らを見るとすぐに慕い、カルデアへ使者を送った。
16As soon as she saw them, she lusted after them and sent messengers to them into Chaldea.
17バビロン人は彼女の愛の床に入って来て、淫行によって彼女を汚した。彼女は彼らによって汚されたが、やがて彼女の心は彼らを嫌うようになった。
17The Babylonians came to her into the bed of love, and they defiled her with their prostitution. She was polluted with them, and her soul was alienated from them.
18彼女は淫行をあらわにし、裸をさらした。それで、わたしの心も、姉を嫌ったのと同じように彼女を嫌うようになった。
18So she uncovered her prostitution and uncovered her nakedness. Then my soul was alienated from her, just like my soul was alienated from her sister.
19それでも彼女は、エジプトの地で淫行を行った若い日々を思い出し、淫行を増し加えた。
19Yet she multiplied her prostitution, remembering the days of her youth, in which she had played the prostitute in the land of Egypt.
20彼女は、肉体がろばの肉体のようで、精液が馬の精液のような愛人たちを慕った。
20She lusted after their lovers, whose flesh is as the flesh of donkeys, and whose issue is like the issue of horses.
21こうしてあなたは、エジプト人が若い乳房のためにあなたの乳首を愛撫した、若い日の淫らな行いを思い起こした。
21Thus you called to memory the lewdness of your youth, in the caressing of your nipples by the Egyptians because of your youthful breasts.
22それゆえ、オホリバよ、主なる神はこう言われる。『見よ、わたしは、あなたが嫌うようになった愛人たちをあなたに敵対させ、四方から彼らをあなたに攻め来させる。
22“Therefore, Oholibah, the Lord GOD says: ‘Behold, I will raise up your lovers against you, from whom your soul is alienated, and I will bring them against you on every side:
23バビロン人とすべてのカルデア人、ペコデ、ショア、コア、そして彼らと共にいるすべてのアッシリア人である。彼らは皆、魅力的な若者、総督、支配者、君主、名高い者であり、皆、馬に乗っている。
23the Babylonians and all the Chaldeans, Pekod, Shoa, Koa, and all the Assyrians with them; all of them desirable young men, governors and rulers, princes and men of renown, all of them riding on horses.
24彼らは武器と戦車と荷車を携え、多くの民と共にあなたに攻めて来る。彼らは小盾、大盾、兜を持って、四方からあなたに立ち向かう。わたしは裁きを彼らに委ね、彼らは自分たちの裁きに従ってあなたを裁く。
24They will come against you with weapons, chariots, and wagons, and with a company of peoples. They will set themselves against you with buckler, shield, and helmet all around. I will commit the judgment to them, and they will judge you according to their judgments.
25わたしはあなたに対してねたみを燃やす。彼らは憤りをもってあなたを扱い、あなたの鼻と耳を切り取る。あなたの残りの者は剣に倒れる。彼らはあなたの息子や娘を奪い、あなたの残りの者は火に食い尽くされる。
25I will set my jealousy against you, and they will deal with you in fury. They will take away your nose and your ears. Your remnant will fall by the sword. They will take your sons and your daughters; and the rest of you will be devoured by the fire.
26彼らはあなたの衣服をはぎ取り、美しい飾り物を奪う。
26They will also strip you of your clothes and take away your beautiful jewels.
27こうして、わたしはあなたの淫らな行いと、エジプトの地以来の淫行をやめさせる。あなたはもはや彼らを仰ぎ見ることも、エジプトを思い出すこともない。』
27Thus I will make your lewdness to cease from you, and remove your prostitution from the land of Egypt, so that you will not lift up your eyes to them, nor remember Egypt any more.’
28主なる神はこう言われる。『見よ、わたしはあなたを、あなたが憎む者たち、あなたが嫌うようになった者たちの手に渡す。
28“For the Lord GOD says: ‘Behold, I will deliver you into the hand of them whom you hate, into the hand of them from whom your soul is alienated.
29彼らは憎しみをもってあなたを扱い、あなたが働いて得たものをすべて奪い、あなたを裸のまま残す。あなたの淫行による裸、淫らな行いと淫行はあらわにされる。
29They will deal with you in hatred, and will take away all your labor, and will leave you naked and bare. The nakedness of your prostitution will be uncovered, both your lewdness and your prostitution.
30これらのことがあなたに行われるのは、あなたが諸国を追って淫行を行い、彼らの偶像によって汚されたからである。
30These things will be done to you because you have played the prostitute after the nations, and because you are polluted with their idols.
31あなたは姉の道を歩んだ。それゆえ、わたしは姉の杯をあなたの手に渡す。』
31You have walked in the way of your sister; therefore I will give her cup into your hand.’
32主なる神はこう言われる。 『あなたは姉の杯を飲む。 それは深く、大きい。 あなたはあざけられ、物笑いにされる。 その杯には多くのものが入っている。
32“The Lord GOD says: ‘You will drink of your sister’s cup, which is deep and large. You will be ridiculed and held in derision. It contains much.
33あなたは酔いと悲しみに満たされる。 驚きと荒廃の杯、 あなたの姉サマリアの杯によって。
33You will be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, with the cup of astonishment and desolation, with the cup of your sister Samaria.
34あなたはそれを飲み干し、 その割れた破片をかじり、 自分の乳房を引き裂く。 わたしが語った』と主なる神は言われる。
34You will even drink it and drain it out. You will gnaw the broken pieces of it, and will tear your breasts; for I have spoken it,’ says the Lord GOD.
35それゆえ、主なる神はこう言われる。『あなたはわたしを忘れ、わたしを自分の背後に投げ捨てた。それゆえ、あなたも自分の淫らな行いと淫行を負え。』」
35“Therefore the Lord GOD says: ‘Because you have forgotten me and cast me behind your back, therefore you also bear your lewdness and your prostitution.’”
36さらに、主は私に言われた。「人の子よ、あなたはオホラとオホリバを裁くのか。それなら、彼女たちにその忌むべき行いを告げよ。
36The LORD said moreover to me: “Son of man, will you judge Oholah and Oholibah? Then declare to them their abominations.
37彼女たちは姦淫を行い、その手には血がある。彼女たちは偶像と姦淫を行った。また、わたしのために産んだ息子たちを、偶像に食い尽くさせるために火の中を通らせた。
37For they have committed adultery, and blood is in their hands. They have committed adultery with their idols. They have also caused their sons, whom they bore to me, to pass through the fire to them to be devoured.
38さらに、彼女たちはわたしに対してこのことを行った。同じ日にわたしの聖所を汚し、わたしの安息日を汚した。
38Moreover this they have done to me: they have defiled my sanctuary in the same day, and have profaned my Sabbaths.
39彼女たちは自分の子どもたちを偶像のために殺した後、同じ日にわたしの聖所へ入り、それを汚した。見よ、彼女たちはわたしの家のただ中でこのことを行った。
39For when they had slain their children to their idols, then they came the same day into my sanctuary to profane it; and behold, they have done this in the middle of my house.
40さらに、あなたがたは遠くから来る男たちを呼び寄せ、そのもとへ使者を送った。見よ、彼らはやって来た。あなたは彼らのために体を洗い、目に化粧を施し、飾り物で身を飾った。
40“Furthermore you sisters have sent for men who come from far away, to whom a messenger was sent, and behold, they came; for whom you washed yourself, painted your eyes, decorated yourself with ornaments,
41そして、豪華な寝台に座り、その前に食卓を整え、その上にわたしの香と油を置いた。
41and sat on a stately bed, with a table prepared before it, whereupon you set my incense and my oil.
42彼女のそばには、安逸にふける群衆の声があった。一般の人々と共に、荒野から酔いどれたちが連れて来られた。彼らは彼女たちの手に腕輪をはめ、頭に美しい冠を載せた。
42“The voice of a multitude being at ease was with her. With men of the common sort were brought drunkards from the wilderness; and they put bracelets on their hands, and beautiful crowns on their heads.
43そこで私は、姦淫によって老い衰えた女について言った。『今になって、彼らは彼女と淫行を行い、彼女も彼らと淫行を行うのか。』
43Then I said of her who was old in adulteries, ‘Now they will play the prostitute with her, and she with them.’
44彼らは娼婦のもとへ入るように彼女のもとへ入った。このようにして、淫らな女オホラとオホリバのもとへ入った。
44They went in to her, as they go in to a prostitute. So they went in to Oholah and to Oholibah, the lewd women.
45しかし、義人たちは、姦淫を行う女への裁きと、血を流す女への裁きによって、彼女たちを裁く。彼女たちは姦淫を行う女であり、その手には血があるからである。
45Righteous men will judge them with the judgment of adulteresses and with the judgment of women who shed blood, because they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands.
46主なる神はこう言われる。『わたしは彼女たちに対して群衆を攻め上らせ、彼女たちを翻弄され、略奪される者とする。
46“For the Lord GOD says: ‘I will bring up a mob against them, and will give them to be tossed back and forth and robbed.
47その群衆は彼女たちを石で打ち、剣で切り倒す。彼女たちの息子や娘を殺し、家々を火で焼く。
47The company will stone them with stones and dispatch them with their swords. They will kill their sons and their daughters, and burn up their houses with fire.
48こうして、わたしはこの地から淫らな行いをやめさせる。すべての女は教訓を受け、あなたがたのような淫らな行いをしなくなる。
48“‘Thus I will cause lewdness to cease out of the land, that all women may be taught not to be lewd like you.
49彼らはあなたがたの淫らな行いをあなたがたに報いる。あなたがたは自分の偶像の罪を負う。そのとき、あなたがたは、わたしが主なる神であることを知る。』」
49They will recompense your lewdness on you, and you will bear the sins of your idols. Then you will know that I am the Lord GOD.’”
