Hosea 8

Baibal Olcim (Matupi Chin)
World English Bible
1BOEIPA im ah atha bangla na ka dongah tuki mop laeh. Ka paipi a poe uh tih ka olkhueng soah boe a koek uh.
1“Put the trumpet to your lips! Something like an eagle is over the LORD’s house, because they have broken my covenant and rebelled against my law.
2Kai taengah tah, “Ka Pathen aw Israel he namah kah la ka ming uh,” tila rhap uh.
2They cry to me, ‘My God, we, Israel, acknowledge you!’
3Israel khaw hnothen a hlahpham dongah amah la thunkha loh a hloem ni.
3Israel has cast off that which is good. The enemy will pursue him.
4A manghai uh akhaw kai lamkah moenih. Boei dae ka ming moenih. A khoe uh ham ni a cak neh a sui te amamih muei la a saii uh.
4They have set up kings, but not by me. They have made princes, and I didn’t approve. Of their silver and their gold they have made themselves idols, that they may be cut off.
5Samaria aw, na vaitoca te hlahpham laeh. Te rhoek taengah ka thintoek loh sai tih, me hil nim cimnah te a noeng uh pawt ve.
5Let Samaria throw out his calf idol! My anger burns against them! How long will it be until they are capable of purity?
6Te te Israel lamkah tih kutthai long te te a saii. Samaria vaitoca he Pathen moenih a nuei a pil lamni a om eh.
6For this is even from Israel! The workman made it, and it is no God; indeed, the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.
7Khohli a soem uh tih cangpalam la a ah uh. Canghli khaw a cangdueng om pawt tih buh la poeh mahpawh. Poeh cakhaw kholong loh a dolh mai khaming.
7For they sow the wind, and they will reap the whirlwind. He has no standing grain. The stalk will yield no head. If it does yield, strangers will swallow it up.
8Isreal te a dolh coeng tih a taengah ngaihnah aka om pawh hnopai bangla namtom taengah om uh coeng.
8Israel is swallowed up. Now they are among the nations like a worthless thing.
9Amih Assyria la cet uh tih Ephraim loh amah la aka pangoe kohong marhang a lunguem rhoek te a paang uh.
9For they have gone up to Assyria, like a wild donkey wandering alone. Ephraim has hired lovers for himself.
10Namtom taengah paang sitoe cakhaw amih te ka coi pawn vetih, mangpa rhoek kah manghai hnorhih hmuiah poeih uh pawn ni.
10But although they sold themselves among the nations, I will now gather them; and they begin to waste away because of the oppression of the king of mighty ones.
11Ephraim loh tholh hamla hmueihtuk a ping sak dongah anih ham tah hmueihtuk tholh la a om pah ni.
11Because Ephraim has multiplied altars for sinning, they became for him altars for sinning.
12Ka olkhueng cungkuem he anih ham thawngrha hil a daek khaw ka daek coeng dae kholong kah bangla a ngai.
12I wrote for him the many things of my law, but they were regarded as a strange thing.
13Kai kah kutdoe hmueih la maeh a nawn uh khaw pahoi a caak uh dongah BOEIPA loh amih a moeithen moenih. Amih kathaesainah te a poek pawn vetih amih kah tholhnah te a cawh ni. Amih te Egypt la mael uh ni.
13As for the sacrifices of my offerings, they sacrifice meat and eat it, but the LORD doesn’t accept them. Now he will remember their iniquity, and punish their sins. They will return to Egypt.
14Israel loh amah aka saii vik te a hnilh tih bawkim a sak. Judah long khaw khopuei vong cak te a ping sak. Tedae a khopuei soah hmai ka tueih vetih a impuei a hlawp pah ni.
14For Israel has forgotten his Maker and built palaces; and Judah has multiplied fortified cities; but I will send a fire on his cities, and it will devour its fortresses.”
