1HOI hou mai la ka anela i kamailio me au, a hoala mai la ia'u, e like me ka hoala ana i ke kanaka hiamoe.
1And the angel that spoke in me came again: and he waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep.

2And he said to me: What seest thou? And I said: I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, and its lamp upon the top of it: and the seven lights thereof upon it: and seven funnels for the lights that were upon the top thereof.
3He elua mau laau oliva hoi e kokoke ana ilaila, o kekahi ma ka akau, a o kekahi hoi ma ka hema o ua ipu aila la.
3And two olive trees over it: one upon the right side of the lamp, and the other upon the left side thereof.
4Ninau aku la hoi au i ka anela i kamailio me au, i aku la, Heaha ke ano o keia mau mea, e kuu haku?
4And I answered, and said to the angel that spoke in me, saying: What are these things, my lord?
5I mai la ka anela i kamailio me au Aole anei oe i ike i ke ano o keia mau mea? I aku la au, Aole, e kuu haku.

6And he answered, and spoke to me, saying: This is the word of the Lord to Zorobabel, saying: Not with an army, nor by might, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.
7Heaha oe, e ka mauna nui? imua o Zerubabela, he papu: a e lawe mai auanei oia i ka pohaku kumu, me ka hookani olioli ana, He aloha! he aloha ia ia!
7Who art thou, O great mountain, before Zorobabel? thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring out the chief stone, and shall give equal grace to the grace thereof.
8A hiki hou mai la ka olelo a Iehova io'u nei, i ka i ana,

10For who hath despised little days? and they shall rejoice, and shall see the tin plummet in the hand of Zorobabel. These are the seven eyes of the Lord, that run to and fro through the whole earth.
11Alaila, ninau aku la au, i aku la ia ia, Heaha ke ano o kela mau oliva elua ma ka lima akau o ka ipukukui, a ma ka lima hema ona?
11And I answered, and said to him: What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick, and upon the left side thereof?
12Ninau hou aku la au, i aku la ia ia, Heaha kela mau lala oliva elua e pili ana me na ohe gula, e hookahe ana i ka aila gula mailoko mai o laua?
12And I answered again, and said to him: What are the two olive branches, that are by the two golden beaks, in which are the funnels of gold?
13Ninau mai la kela ia'u, i mai la, Aole oe i ike i keia mau mea? I aku la au, Aole, e ka haku.
13And he spoke to me, saying: Knowest thou not what these are? And I said: No, my lord.
