1Then, after fourteen years, I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus also with me.
1Saning hatlai palito laemh pacoengah, Titu doeh ka hoih moe, Barnaba hoi nawnto Jerusalem ah ka caeh let.
2And I went up according to revelation; and communicated to them the gospel, which I preach among the Gentiles, but apart to them who seemed to be some thing: lest perhaps I should run, or had run in vain.
2Kangphong lok hnuksakhaih hoiah ka caeh moe, Gentelnawk khaeah ka thuih ih tamthanglok hoih to nihcae khaeah ka thuih pae, toe ka sak tangcae tok hoi ka sak han koi tok to azom pui ah oh han ai ah, ahmin kamthang kaminawk khaeah ni tamquta hoiah ka thuih.
3But neither Titus, who was with me, being a Gentile, was compelled to be circumcised.
3Kai hoi nawnto kaom Titu loe, Greek kami ah oh, toe tangzat hin ka aatsak nganga ai.
4But because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privately to spy our liberty, which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into servitude.
4Kri Jesu ah a tawnh o ih loihhaih to khet moe, aicae misong ah ohsak hanah tamquta hoi aicae thungah a kun o sak ih, kahoih ai nawkamyanawk pongah ni to tiah a sak o:
5To whom we yielded not by subjection, no not for an hour, that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.
5toe loktang tamthanglok hoih nangcae khaeah oh thaih poe hanah, nihcae han ahmuen ka paawh pae o ai, atue maeto thung mataeng doeh ka paek pae o ai.
6But of them who seemed to be some thing, (what they were some time, it is nothing to me, God accepteth not the person of man,) for to me they that seemed to be some thing added nothing.
6Lokpui ah kaom kaminawk hoi (kai hanah loe kawbaktih kami doeh lahhaih om ai: Sithaw loe kami mikhmai to khen ai:) lokpui ah poek o ih kaminawk loe, kai han amekhaih tidoeh om ai.
7But contrariwise, when they had seen that to me was committed the gospel of the uncircumcision, as to Peter was that of the circumcision.
7Piter khaeah tangzat hin aahhaih kahoih tamthanglok paek baktih toengah, kai khaeah doeh tangzat hin aat ai kahoih tamthanglok to paek toeng, tito nihcae mah panoek o;
8(For he who wrought in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, wrought in me also among the Gentiles.)
8(tangzat hin aat kaminawk khaeah patoeh ih kami ah oh hanah, Piter nuiah toksah Anih loe, Gentelnawk khaeah toksah kai khaeah doeh toksak toeng:)
9And when they had known the grace that was given to me, James and Cephas and John, who seemed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship: that we should go unto the Gentiles, and they unto the circumcision:
9im tung baktiah kaom Jakob, Kipha hoi Johan cae mah, kai khaeah tahmenhaih paek boeh, tito panoek o naah, nihcae loe tangzat hin aat kaminawk khaeah caeh o moe, Sithaw panoek ai kaminawk khaeah caeh hanah, kai hoi Barnaba to bantang ban ang sinh o.
10Only that we should be mindful of the poor: which same thing also I was careful to do.
10Nihcae mah loe kamtang kaminawk ka pahnet o han ai khue ni koehhaih a tawnh o; kai mah doeh to tiah sak han ih ka koeh toeng.
11But when Cephas was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.
11Piter Antiok vangpui ah angzoh naah, kasae thuih koi kaom ah khosak pongah, mikhmai kangtong ah lok ka aek.
12For before that some came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them who were of the circumcision.
12Jakob mah patoeh ih thoemto kaminawk angzo o ai karoek to, anih loe Gentelnawk hoi nawnto buhcaak: toe nihcae phak o naah loe, tangzat hin aat kaminawk to zit pongah, Gentel kaminawk hoi angkom ai ah kamhoe ah a oh ving.
13And to his dissimulation the rest of the Jews consented, so that Barnabas also was led by them into that dissimulation.
13To naah kalah Judah kaminawk doeh anih baktiah angsak o toeng; nihcae to tiah angsak o pongah Barnaba doeh nihcae baktiah oh ving.
14But when I saw that they walked not uprightly unto the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas before them all: If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of the Gentiles, and not as the Jews do, how dost thou compel the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?
14Nihcae loe tamthanglok hoih baktiah katoengah toksah o ai, tito ka panoek naah, kai mah nihcae boih hmaa ah, Nang loe, Judah kami maeto ah na oh, toe Judah kami baktiah kho na sah ai, Gentelnawk baktiah ni kho na sak; to tiah na oh to mah tih hanah Gentelnawk to Judahnawk baktiah na ohsak nganga loe? tiah Piter khaeah ka thuih pae.
15We by nature are Jews, and not of the Gentiles sinners.
15Aicae loe tapen tangsuek nathuem hoiah Judah kami ah a oh o, kazae Gentelnawk baktiah a om o ai.
16But knowing that man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ; we also believe in Christ Jesus, that we may be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: because by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.
16Kaalok pazuihaih rang hoiah kami mah toenghaih hnu ai, toe Jesu Kri tanghaih rang hoiah ni hnuk, tiah a panoek o; aicae mah kaalok pazuihaih hoiah na ai, Kri tanghaih rang hoiah toenghaih a hnuk o thai hanah, Kri Jesu to ni a tang o: kaalok pazuihaih rang hoiah mi kawbaktih doeh toenghaih hnu thai ai.
17But if while we seek to be justified in Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners; is Christ then the minister of sin? God forbid.
17Kri rang hoiah toenghaih a pakrong o naah loe, aicae Judah kaminawk doeh kami zae ah ni a oh o toeng, to tiah om nahaeloe Kri loe zaehaih toksahkung ah maw oh? To tiah om ai.
18For if I build up again the things which I have destroyed, I make myself a prevaricator.
18Ka phraek tangcae hmuen to ka sak let nahaeloe, kaimah hoi kaimah to zaehaih sah kami ah ni ka ohsak, tito amtueng.
19For I, through the law, am dead to the law, that I may live to God: with Christ I am nailed to the cross.
19Sithaw ah ka hing thai hanah, kaalok ah ka duek.
20And I live, now not I; but Christ liveth in me. And that I live now in the flesh: I live in the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and delivered himself for me.
20Kai loe Kri hoi nawnto thinglam pongah takhing boeh: to langlacadoeh ka hing; toe kai na ai, Kri kai thungah hing: vaihi taksa ah ka hinghaih loe, kai palung, kai han a hinghaih paek, Sithaw Capa tanghaih hoiah ni hing boeh.
21I cast not away the grace of God. For if justice be by the law, then Christ died in vain.
21Sithaw tahmenhaih to ka takhoe ving ai: kaalok pazuihaih rang hoiah toenghaih hnuk thai nahaeloe, Kri loe azom pui ah ni duek.
