Baibal Olcim (Matupi Chin)
1Hear, O ye heavens, the things I speak, let the earth give ear to the words of my mouth.
2Let my doctrine gather as the rain, let my speech distil as the dew, as a shower upon the herb, and as drops upon the grass.
2Ka rhingtuknah he khotlan bangla tlan saeh. Toian dongkah dotui neh baelhing dongkah mueitui bangla, ka olthui he buemtui bangla cip saeh.
3Because I will invoke the name of the Lord: give ye magnificence to our God.
4The works of God are perfect, and all his ways are judgments: God is faithful and without any iniquity, he is just and right.
4Uepomnah Pathen kah longpuei tah boeih tiktam tih, a bisai khaw hmabut a lungpang coeng. Te dongah amah tah dueng tih a thuem dongah, dumlai om pawh.
5They have sinned against him, and are nose of his children in their filth: they are a wicked and perverse generation.
6Is this the return thou makest to the Lord, O foolish and senseless people? Is not he thy father, that hath possessed thee, and made thee, and created thee?
6Pilnam ang neh cueih aka khueh mueh, he tlam a BOEIPA na thuung eh? Anih te nang napa moenih a? Anih long la nang n'lai tih nang n'saii phoeiah khaw n'thoh dae.
7Remember the days of old, think upon every generation: ask thy father, and he will declare to thee: thy elders and they will tell thee.
Namah a ham rhoek long khaw nang taengah han thui uh bitni.
8When the Most High divided the nations: when he separated the sons of Adam, he appointed the bounds of people according to the number of the children of Israel.
8Khohni loh namtom a phaeng vaengah, Adam koca a hoep sak tih, Israel ca kah hlangmi bangla pilnam kah rhilung a ling.
9But the Lord’s portion is his people: Jacob the lot of his inheritance.
9A pilnam he BOEIPA kah khoyo la om tih, Jakob khaw amah kah a rho khoyo la om.
10He found him in a desert land, in a place of horror, and of vast wilderness: he led him about, and taught him: and he kept him as the apple of his eye.
10Anih te khosoek neh rhungnah neh khopong hinghong kho ah a hmuh. A mik dongkah thenhnaih bangla a kueinah dongah, a yakming tih khoep a ku.
11As the eagle enticing her young to fly, and hovering over them, he spread his wings, and hath taken him and carried him on his shoulders.
11A bu dongkah a vaca te atha bangla haenghang. A phae a khong tih a phuel phoeiah, a ca te a loh tih a phaemul soah a ludoeng.
12The Lord alone was his leader: and there was no strange god with him.
12Anih te BOEIPA bueng loh a mawt tih anih taengah kholong pathen loh a om puei moenih.
13He set him upon high land: that he might eat the fruits of the fields, that he might suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the hardest stone,
13Anih te diklai hmuensang hmuensang ah a ngol sak. Khohmuen paiso khaw a cah tih, thaelpang khoitui, hmailung lungpang dongkah situi neh a khut.
14Butter of the herd, and milk of the sheep with the fat of lambs, and of the rams of the breed of Basan: and goats with the marrow of wheat, and might drink the purest blood of the grape.
14Vaito suknaeng neh boiva kah suktui nen khaw, tuca tha nen khaw, Bashan ca rhoek tutal nen khaw, kikong kah a kuel a pang, cang neh yucang misur thii khaw na ok.
15The beloved grew fat, and kicked: he grew fat, and thick and gross, he forsook God who made him, and departed from God his saviour.
Anih aka saii Pathen te a phap tih khangnah lungpang vik te a hnoo sut.
16They provoked him by strange gods, and stirred him up to anger, with their abominations.
16Amah te kholong rhoek nen khaw, tueilaehkoi nen khaw a thatlai uh thil tih, amah te a veet uh.
17They sacrificed to devils and not to God: to gods whom they knew not: that were newly come up, whom their fathers worshipped not.
A rhih khaw a rhih uh moenih.
18Thou hast forsaken the God that beget thee, and hast forgotten the Lord that created thee.
19The Lord saw, and was moved to wrath: because his own sons and daughters provoked him.
19BOEIPA loh a hmuh ngawn dae, a capa neh a canu kah a konoinah dongah yah a bai.
20And he said: I will hide my face from them, and will consider what their last end shall be: for it is a perverse generation, and unfaithful children.
20A cadilcahma loh calaak uh tih, a ca rhoek khaw a khuiah oltak a om pawt dongah, ka maelhmai he ka thuh saeh lamtah, amih hmailong khaw ka so dae eh.
21They have provoked me with that which was no god, and have angered me with their vanities: and I will provoke them with that which is no people, and will vex them with a foolish nation.
21Pathen pawt nen khaw amih loh kai n'thatlai thil uh tih a honghi neh kai m'veet uh.
22A fire is kindled in my wrath, and shall burn even to the lowest hell: and shall devour the earth with her increase, and shall burn the foundations of the mountains.
22Ka thintoek te hmai la ka hlae vetih Saelkhui laedil la ung kangna saeh. Diklai neh a cangpai khaw ung saeh lamtah tlang yung khaw hlawp kangna saeh.
23I will heap evils upon them, and will spend my arrows among them.
24They shall be consumed with famine, and birds shall devour them with a most bitter bite: I will send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the fury of creatures that trail upon the ground, and of serpents.
24Khokha loh a thah vetih rhaekhmai loh a dom ni. Lucik khahing neh rhamsa no te amih taengah ka tueih pah vetih, kosi neh laipi dongah kawl uh ni.
25Without, the sword shall lay them waste, and terror within, both the young man and the virgin, the sucking child with the man in years.
25Kawtpoeng ah cunghang loh n'cakol sak vetih, imkhui ah mueirhih loh tongpang neh oila khaw, cahni neh tongpa sampok khaw a ngawn ni.
26I said: Where are they? I will make the memory of them to cease from among men.
26Amih te ka phaek saeh lamtah, hlanghing lamkah amih poekkoepnah he ka toeng mai eh ka ti coeng.
27But for the wrath of the enemies I have deferred it: lest perhaps their enemies might be proud, and should say: Our mighty hand, and not the Lord, hath done all these things.
27Thunkha kah konoinah dongah ka bakuep sak pawt akhaw a rhal hmat uh lah ve. “Mamih kut a pomsang vetih, BOEIPA loh he he boeih saii mahpawh,” ti uh lah ve.
28They are a nation without counsel, and without wisdom.
28Namtom tah a cilsuep moelh tih, a lungcuei neh om pawh.
29O that they would be wise and would understand, and would provide for their last end.
29Cueih uh koinih lungming la om uh vetih, a hmailong khaw a yakming uh suidae.
30How should one pursue after a thousand, and two chase ten thousand? Was it not, because their God had sold them, and the Lord had shut them up?
30Pakhat loh thawngkhat metlam a hloem vetih, panit loh thawngrha a rhaelrham sak eh.
31For our God is not as their gods: our enemies themselves are judges.
31Amih kah lungpang te, mamih kah lungpang bangla a om pawt dongah, n'thunkha rhoek khaw rhokhan a khueh pah.
32Their vines are of the vineyard of Sodom, and of the suburbs of Gomorrha: their grapes are grapes of gall, and their clusters most bitter.
32Amih kah misur tah, Sodom misur neh Gomorrah lohmali lamloh ha thoeng dongah, a misurthaih khaw anrhat misur khahing thaihsu la poeh.
33Their wine is the gall of dragons, and the venom of asps, which is incurable.
33A misurtui tah tuihnam sue neh minta sue bangla muen.
34Are not these things stored up with me, and sealed up in my treasures?
34Hekah he kamah taengah ka tung pawt tih, ka thakvoh dongah miknoek ka daeng moenih a?
35Revenge is mine, and I will repay them in due time, that their foot may slide: the day of destruction is at hand, and the time makes haste to come.
35Amih kho loh a paloe tue vaengah, he phulohnah neh laisahnah khaw kamah hut ni. Amih kah rhainah khohnin loh yoei coeng tih, amih taengah a coekcoe la tawn uh coeng.
36The Lord will judge his people, and will have mercy on his servants: he shall see that their hand is weakened, and that they who were shut up have also failed, and they that remained are consumed.
36BOEIPA loh a pilnam kah lai a tloek pah vetih, a sal pum dongkah a kut a khawk dongah a khaih banlak tih, a tlo-oeng te a hmuh vaengah hal bitni.
37And he shall say: Where are their gods, in whom they trusted?
37Te dongah, “Amih kah pathen tah melae, mekah lungpang khuiah lae a ying uh,” a ti bitni.
38Of whose victims they ate the fat, and drank the wine of their drink offerings: let them arise and help you, and protect you in your distress.
38Amih kah hmueih tha aka ca tih, a boeimang misurtui aka o rhoek te thoo uh saeh lamtah, nangmih aka bom neh nangmih ham hlipyingnah la om saeh.
39See ye that I alone am, and there is no other God besides me: I will kill and I will make to live: I will strike, and I will heal, and there is none that can deliver out of my hand.
39Kai kamah tah amah moek la ka om tih, kai phoeiah pathen tloe a om pawt he hmu uh lah. Kai loh ka duek sak tih ka hing sak. Ka phop tih kamah loh ka hoeih sak.
40I will lift up my hand to heaven, and I will say: I live for ever.
40Ka kut he vaan la ka phuel tih, kamah ka mulhing he kumhal ah ka thui.
41If I shall whet my sword as the lightning, and my hand take hold on judgment: I will render vengeance to my enemies, and repay them that hate me.
41Ka cunghang te khopha bangla ka tah coeng. Ka kut dongkah laitloeknah loh pha koinih, phulohnah khaw ka rhal soah ka thuung sui tih, ka lunguet taengah ka sah sue.
42I will make my arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh, of the blood of the slain and of the captivity, of the bare head of the enemies.
42Ka thaltang khaw thii ka rhuihmil sak vaengah, ka cunghang loh hmalaem thii neh, thunkha tawnlo lu lamkah tamna saa te hlap pah saeh.
43Praise his people, ye nations, for he will revenge the blood of his servants: and will render vengeance to their enemies, and he will be merciful to the land of his people.
43A pilnam te namtom rhoek loh tamhoe puei saeh. A sal rhoek kah thii phu te loh vaengah, phulohnah neh a rhal rhoek te a thuunh vetih, a pilnam khohmuen te a dawth pah ni.
44So Moses came and spoke all the words of this canticle in the ears of the people, and Josue the son of Nun.
44Te phoeiah Moses te halo tih, hekah laa lung he a pilnam neh Nun capa Hosea kah hna kaepah boeih a thui pah.
45And he ended all these words, speaking to all Israel.
45Moses loh Israel pum taengah hekah olka cungkuem a thui te a khah.
46And he said to them: Set your hearts on all the words, which I testify to you this day: which you shall command your children to observe and to do, and to fulfill all that is written in this law:
46Te phoeiah amih te, “Tihnin kah nangmih taengah kan rhalrhing sak bangla olka boeih he na thinko ah khueh uh. He olkhueng ol boeih he ngaithuen ham neh vai hamla na ca rhoek taengah khaw uen uh.
47For they are not commanded you in vain, but that every one should live in them, and that doing them you may continue a long time in the land whither you are going over the Jordan to possess it.
47He nangmih ham a hong ol pawt tih he ni na hingnah. He ol nen ni khohmuen ah hinglung a vang eh. Te te pang ham pahoi ni Jordan te na kat uh,” a ti nah.
48And the Lord spoke to Moses the same day, saying:
48Tekah khohnin tuung dongah Moses te BOEIPA loh a voek tih,
49Go up into this mountain Abarim, (that is to say, of passages,) unto mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab over against Jericho: and see the land of Chanaan, which I will deliver to the children of Israel to possess, and die thou in the mountain.
49Jerikho imdan Moab kho kah Abarim tlang, Nebo tlang la luei lamtah kai loh Israel ca rhoek taengah khohut la ka paek Kanaan kho te so lah.
50When thou art gone up into it thou shalt be gathered to thy people, as Aaron thy brother died in mount Her, and was gathered to his people:
50Na maya Aaron loh Hor tlang ah duek tih a pilnam taengah a khoem uh bangla nang khaw tlang la na luei tih na duek vaengah na pilnam taengla khoem uh van laeh.
51Because you trespassed against me in the midst of the children of Israel, at the waters of contradiction in Cades of the desert of Sin: and you did not sanctify me among the children of Israel.
51Zin khosoek, Meribah Kadesh tui taengkah Israel ca rhoek lakli ah kai taengla boe na koek. Israel ca rhoek lakli ah kai nan ciim pawh.
52Thou shalt see the land before thee, which I will give to the children of Israel, but thou shalt not enter into it.
52Te dongah khohmuen te a hla lamloh na hmuh vetih Israel ca rhoek taengah ka paek khohmuen la na kun mahpawh,” a ti nah.
