Testamenta Marra (Dieri New Testament)
1And when we had escaped, then we knew that the island was called Melita. But the barbarians shewed us no small courtesy.
1Ja ngaiana tepi matja dunkana, ngaiana ngarana wonti, naupini watiwati Melite nganai.
2For kindling a fire, they refreshed us all, because of the present rain, and of the cold.
2Ja kana tula ngaianangu wata ngalje murlali nganana wonti; ngangau tanali turu japina wonti, ja ngaianana pratjana patana wonti talarandru nau godanani ja kilpandru.
3And when Paul had gathered together a bundle of sticks, and had laid them on the fire, a viper coming out of the heat, fastened on his hand.
3Paululu juku marapu kampanani turuni kurala, wiparu turundru dunkana wonti, ja nunkani marani matantarina wonti.
4And when the barbarians saw the beast hanging on his hand, they said one to another: Undoubtedly this man is a murderer, who though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance doth not suffer him to live.
4Kana tulali nina wiparu nunkani marani warukanani najinani, tana ngankamalina wonti: „Morlalu naupini kana naria nandranietja nganai, ngapandru matja tepi dunkana, kalalali ninaia wata tepi kurakai.“
5And he indeed shaking off the beast into the fire, suffered no harm.
5Nulu nina nganti turuni kantikantina wonti, ja nunkangu wata madlentji pantjina wonti.
6But they supposed that he would begin to swell up, and that he would suddenly fall down and die. But expecting long, and seeing that there came no harm to him, changing their minds, they said, that he was a god.
6Tanali kalkana wonti, nau kimarinanto kara nurujeli nari purinanto kara. Tanali wirdi kalkanani ja najinani, nunkangu wata madlentji pantjinani, tanali ngundrana karitjimalkana wonti ja jatana wonti, nauja Goda nganai.
7Now in these places were possessions of the chief man of the island, named Publius, who receiving us, for three days entertained us courteously.
7Nunkangupini pirini karakara watiwatia kaparali, tala nunkani Publius, mita ngamalkana wonti; nulupini ngaianana patana wonti, ja ditji parkulu murlali ngamalkana wonti.
8And it happened that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever, and of a bloody flux. To whom Paul entered in; and when he had prayed, and laid his hands on him, he healed him.
8Jendrangundruja Publiuni ngaperi muntja turuturujeli ja kudna tjuranali pararana wonti; nunkangu Paulus wirina wonti ja ngatjina wonti, ja nunkangu mara kuraterina wonti, ja nina tepi ngankana wonti.
9Which being done, all that had diseases in the island, came and were healed:
9Jenia matja pantjinani, bakana watiwatila morla, tanali muntja ngamalkanani, wokarana wonti, ja tepi manina wonti.
10Who also honoured us with many honours, and when we were to set sail, they laded us with such things as were necessary.
10Tanalipini ngaianangu bakana pirnala marapujeli pirna ngundrana wonti; ja ngaiana nakaldra wapanani, tanali ngaianangu kurana wonti, mina ngaiana ngamalkananto.
11And after three months, we sailed in a ship of Alexandria, that had wintered in the island, whose sign was the Castors.
11Pirra parkulani ngaiana Alexandria botali wapana wonti, nau watiwatini kilpawirdi pararana wonti, nunkangupini mudlamalkanto: „Dioskorala.“
12And when we were come to Syracusa, we tarried there three days.
12Ja ngaiana Syrakusungu wokaranani, ngaiana naka ditji parkulu ngamana wonti.
13From thence, compassing by the shore, we came to Rhegium: and after one day, the south wind blowing, we came the second day to Puteoli;
13Nakandru ngaiana worku karitjina wonti ja Rhegiumingu wokarana wonti; ja ditji kulnuni kunankarindru watara ngakanani, ngaiana ditji mandrulani Puteolingu wokarana wonti.
14Where, finding brethren, we were desired to tarry with them seven days: and so we went to Rome.
14Naka ngaiana ngatata mankamankana wonti, tana ngaianangu ngatjina wonti, ditji mara wora ja mandru tanangu jela ngamala; jeruja ngaiana Romangu wokarana wonti.
15And from thence, when the brethren had heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii Forum, and the Three Taverns: whom when Paul saw, he gave thanks to God, and took courage.
15Ja nakalali ngatatajeli, ngaianangundru matja ngarana, dunkana wonti ngaianangu mandurila Appia Forungulu ja Trestabernängulu. Paululu tanana matja najina, nulu Goda jurakokana wonti, ja burka ngururina wonti.
16And when we were come to Rome, Paul was suffered to dwell by himself, with a soldier that kept him.
16Ngaiana Romangu matja wokarana, juljaia kaparali kanjangarila kapara pirnani jinkina wonti; Paulungu nulu manuni kurana wonti pilki ngamananto julja kulnunto, nulu nina ngamalkijiribananto.
17And after the third day, he called together the chief of the Jews. And when they were assembled, he said to them: Men, brethren, I, having done nothing against the people, or the custom of our fathers, was delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans;
17Jendranguta ditji parkulani Paululu Juda kana pirna karkana mapana wonti. Tana matja mapaterina, nau tanangu jatana wonti: „Materi ja ngatata worajai! ngato wata madlentji ngankana warai kana wolarani ja ngaperaia manginani, ja tanali ngana dupudupu Jerusalemingu Romalani marani ngulkujeli jinkinala.
18Who, when they had examined me, would have released me, for that there was no cause of death in me;
18Tanalipini ngana ngaranani ja jertapaterinani ngana kurakala, ngangau wata madlentji ngakangu parana wonti, ngato kalala nari maninanto.
19But the Jews contradicting it, I was constrained to appeal unto Caesar; not that I had any thing to accuse my nation of.
19Ngangau Juda kanali tjakakana wonti, ngani ngandandarina wonti pilki ngankala windri mitaia kaparani karkala, wata jeruja, ngato ngakani kana wolarani ngulkuterkananto.
20For this cause therefore I desired to see you, and to speak to you. Because that for the hope of Israel, I am bound with this chain.
20Nunkangupini potundru ngani ngatjina warai jurana najila ja jurangunto ngankamalila; ngangau Israelaia kalkanandru ngato ninapini kanjangari ngamalkai.“
21But they said to him: We neither received letters concerning thee from Judea, neither did any of the brethren that came hither, relate or speak any evil of thee.
21Tana nunkangu jatana wonti: „Ngaiani wata dakani jaura jinkangundru Judaiandru manina warai, ja wata ngatata kulno wokarana warai, jinkangundru madlentji kaukaubala kara jatala kara.
22But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest; for as concerning this sect, we know that it is every where contradicted.
22Ngaiani ngantjai jinkangundru ngarala, mina jundru ngundrai; ngangau nunkangupini ngujandru ngaiani milkila, tanali paruparu nunkangu tjakakai.“
23And when they had appointed him a day, there came very many to him unto his lodgings; to whom he expounded, testifying the kingdom of God, and persuading them concerning Jesus, out of the law of Moses and the prophets, from morning until evening.
23Tanali ditji kulno matja kurana, jendranguta morla marapu nunkangu pungani jurborina wonti. Tanangu nulu Godaia milila mildiri ngankana wonti, ja tinkari ngankana wonti, ja Jesungundru kaukaubana wonti Mosini jirijiribani jaurandru ja Prophetandru, tankubanandru kalkaurajelu.
24And some believed the things that were said; but some believed not.
24Ja palpali jenia morlalu ngundrana wonti, mina nau jatana wonti, ja palpali wata morlalu ngundrana wonti.
25And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, Paul speaking this one word: Well did the Holy Ghost speak to our fathers by Isaias the prophet,
25Ja tana kulnulu kulnulu nganingana puntinani, Paulus tanangu jaura kulno jatantina wonti: „Ngumu Jaolali Jesaiali Prophetali ngaianani ngaperani kaukaubana wonti
26Saying: Go to this people, and say to them: With the ear you shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing you shall see, and shall not perceive.
26Ja jatana wonti: Wapau tanangupini kana wolarani ja jatau: Talpali jura ngarala nganai, ja bulu ngujamala nganai, ja najina jura najila nganai, ja bulu najila nganai.
27For the heart of this people is grown gross, and with their ears have they heard heavily, and their eyes they have shut; lest perhaps they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
27Ngangau tanapini kana wolaraia ngara mani pirna pantjina warai, ja talpali tanali bulu ngarai, ja tana milki butju ngankateriai, tanali milkieli wata najinanto, ja talpali wata ngarananto, ja ngarali wata ngujamananto, ja wata karitjinanto, ngato tanana tepi ngankananto.
28Be it known therefore to you, that this salvation of God is sent to the Gentiles, and they will hear it.
28Jura ngujamanau, Nulia Godaia murla kana koni jinpana warai; tanali nina ngarala nganai,“
29And when he had said these things, the Jews went out from him, having much reasoning among themselves.
29Nau jenia matja jatana, Juda kana puntina wonti, ja jaurandru pirna jatamalina wonti.
30And he remained two whole years in his own hired lodging; and he received all that came in to him,
30Paulus kilpawoldra mandruwirdi nunkani pungani ngamana wonti, ja nulu pratjana patana wonti, tana nunkangu wirina wonti,
31Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching the things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, without prohibition.
31Ja nulu Godaia milila kaukaubana wonti, ja Kaparandru Jesus Chritungundru ngujangujara jinkina wonti, manubakujeli ja ngandrawalkani panini.
