1And it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ismahel the son of Nathanias, the son of Elisama of the royal blood, and the nobles of the king, and ten men with him, came to Godolias the son of Ahicam into Masphath: and they ate bread there together in Masphath.
2To naah Nethaniah capa Ishmael hoi nawnto angzo kami hatonawk to angthawk o moe, Babylon siangpahrang mah prae ukkung ah suek ih, Shaphan capa Ahihkam, anih ih capa Gedaliah to sumsen hoiah hum o.
2And Ismahel the son of Nathanias arose, and the ten men that were with him, and they struck Godolias the son of Ahicam, the son of Saphan with the sword, and slew him whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land.
3Ishmael mah Mizpah ah Gedaliah khaeah kaom, Judah kaminawk hoi nawnto Khaldian misatuh kaminawk doeh hum.
3Ismahel slew also all the Jews that were with Godolias in Masphath, and the Chaldeans that were found there, and the soldiers.
4Gedaliah humhaih ni hnetto haih khoek to, to tiah kaom hmuen to mi mah doeh panoek ai,
4And on the second day after he had killed Godolias, no man yet knowing it,
5Shekhem, Shiloh, Samaria hoiah angzo, angmacae ih pahni mui kang aat, khukbuennawk to asih moe, angmacae hoi angmacae kang aat kami, qui tazettonawk loe angbawnhaih sak hanah, canghum hoi hmuihoih tui to Angraeng im ah angzoh o haih.
5There came some from Sichem, and from Silo, and from Samaria, fourscore men, with their beards shaven, and their clothes rent, and mourning: and they had offerings and incense in their hand, to offer in the house of the Lord.
6To naah Nathaniah capa Ishmael loe nihcae dawt hanah, qah angsak moe, Mizpah hoiah caeh; nihcae to hnuk naah, Ahihkam capa Gedaliah khaeah angzo oh, tiah a naa.
6And Ismahel the son of Nathanias went forth from Masphath to meet them, weeping all along as he went: and when he had met them, he said to them: Come to Godolias, the son of Ahicam.
7Nihcae vangpui thungah akun o pacoengah, Nathaniah capa Ishmael hoi nawnto kaom kaminawk mah, nihcae to hum o moe, tangqom thungah vah o.
7And when they were come to the midst of the city, Ismahel the son of Nathanias, slew them, and cast them into the midst of the pit, he and the men that were with him.
8Toe kami hatonawk mah Ishmael khaeah, Kaicae hae hum hmah! Takaw, canghum, situi hoi khoituinawk taw ah ka hawk o, tiah a naa o. To pongah nihcae to kalah kaminawk hoi nawnto hum ai.
8But ten men were found among them, that said to Ismahel: Kill us not: for we have stores in the field, of wheat, and barley, and oil, and honey. And he forbore, and slew them not with their brethren.
9Ishmaael hoi Gedaliah mah nawnto hum ih kami qoknawk vahhaih tangqom loe kalah tangqom na ai, Asa siangpahrang mah Israel siangpahrang Basha to zit pongah takaeh ih tangqom khaw to ni; to tangqom khaw loe Nathanniah capa Ishmael mah kadueh qok hoiah koisak boeh.
9And the pit into which Ismahel cast all the dead bodies of the men whom he slew because of Godolias, is the same that king Asa made, for fear of Baasa the king of Israel: the same did Ismahel the son of Nathanias fill with them that were slain.
10Ishmael mah Mizpah ah anghmat kaminawk boih, Babylon siangpahrang prae toepkung misatuh angraeng Nebuzaradan mah Ahihkam capa Gedaliah khaeah paek ih siangpahrang canunawk, Mizpah ah anghmat kaminawk to misong ah caeh haih boih; Nethaniah capa Ishmael mah nihcae to hoih moe, Ammon kaminawk ih prae bangah caeh haih.
10Then Ismahel carried away captive all the remnant of the people that were in Masphath: the king’s daughters, and all the people that remained in Masphath: whom Nabuzardan the general of the army had committed to Godolias the son of Ahicam. And Ismahel the son of Nathanias took them, and he departed, to go over to the children of Ammon.
11Nethaniah capa Ishmael mah sak ih kahoih ai hmuennawk boih, Kariah capa Johanan hoi a taengah kaom misatuh angraengnawk boih mah thaih o naah,
11But Johanan the son of Caree, and all the captains of the fighting men that were with him, heard of the evil that Ismahel the son of Nathanias had done.
12Nethanniah capa Ishmael tuk hanah, angmah ih kaminawk to kawk moe, a caeh o boih; anih to Gibeon ih tuili ohhaih ahmuen ah kae o.
12And taking all the men, they went out to fight against Ismahel the son of Nathanias, and they found him by the great waters that are in Gabaon.
13Ishmael khaeah kaom kaminawk boih mah, Kariah capa Johanan hoi misatuh angraengnawk boih to hnuk naah kawnh o.
13And when all the people that were with Ismahel, had seen Johanan the son of Caree, and all the captains of the fighting men that were with him, they rejoiced.
14Ishmael mah Mizpah hoi misong ah caeh haih ih kaminawk loe amlaem o moe, Kariah capa Johanan khaeah caeh o.
14And all the people whom Ismahel had taken, went back to Masphath: and they returned and went to Johanan the son of Caree.
15Toe Nethaniah capa Ishmael hoi kami tazettonawk loe Johannan khae hoi loih o moe, Ammon kaminawk ih prae ah cawnh o.
15But Ismahel the son of Nathanias fled with eight men, from the face of Johanan, and went to the children of Ammon.
16Nethaniah capa Ishmael mah Ahihkam capa Gedaliah hum pae pacoengah, Kariah capa Johanan hoi a taengah kaom misatuh angraengnawk boih, Nethanniah capa Ishmael ban thung hoiah lak ih Mizpah ah anghmat kaminawk boih, thacak misatuh kaminawk, nongpatanawk, nawktanawk hoi tangyat mii dueh kaminawk boih to, Gibeon hoiah caeh haih moe,
16Then Johanan the son of Caree, and all the captains of the soldiers that were with him, took all the remnant of the people whom they had recovered from Ismahel the son of Nathanias, from Masphath, after that he had slain Godolias the son of Ahicam: valiant men for war, and the women, and the children, and the eunuchs, whom he had brought back from Gabaon:
17Khaldian kaminawk ih ban thung hoi loih thai hanah a caeh o pacoengah, Izip prae thung akunhaih, Bethlehem vangpui taeng ih Khimham ah anghak o.
17And they departed, and sat as sojourners in Chamaam, which is near Bethlehem: in order to go forward, and enter into Egypt,
18Prae ukkung ah Babylon siangpahrang mah suek ih Ahihkam capa Gedaliah to Nethaniah capa Ishmael mah hum pae ving pongah, nihcae mah Khaldian kaminawk to zit o.
18From the face of the Chaldeans: for they were afraid of them, because Ismahel the son of Nathanias had slain Godolias the son of Ahicam, whom the king of Babylon had made governor in the land of Juda.
