2He was five and twenty years old when he began to reign: and he reigned nine and twenty years in Jerusalem: the name of his mother was Abi the daughter of Zacharias.
3Ampa David mah sak ih hmuen baktih toengah, anih loe Angraeng mikhnukah hmuen kahoih to sak.
3And he did that which was good before the Lord, according to all that David his father had done.
4Anih loe hmuensangnawk, krangnawk to vah boih moe, Asherah thingnawk to pakhruk; canghniah Israel kaminawk mah hmuihoih thlaek haih, Mosi mah sum kamling hoiah sak ih, Nehushtan, tiah ahmin kaom pahui krang to boh phaeng.
4He destroyed the high places, and broke the statues in pieces, and cut down the groves, and broke the brazen serpent, which Moses had made: for till that time the children of Israel burnt incense to it: and he called its name Nohestan.
5Hezekiah loe Israel Angraeng Sithaw to oep baktih toengah, anih pacoengah, anih hmaa ah, anih baktih kaom Judah siangpahrang mi doeh om ai.
5He trusted in the Lord the God of Israel: so that after him there was none like him among all the kings of Juda, nor any of them that were before him:
6Anih loe Angraeng to kacakah patawnh, caehtaak ai, anih hnukah bang poe; Angraeng mah Mosi khaeah paek ih lokpaekhaih to pazui.
6And he stuck to the Lord, and departed not from his steps, but kept his commandments, which the Lord commanded Moses.
7Angraeng mah anih to oh thuih moe, a sak ih hmuennawk boih ah athaih taaksak; Assyria siangpahrang to misa ah a suek, anih ih toksak hanah angmak pae.
7Wherefore the Lord also was with him, and in all things, to which he went forth, he behaved himself wisely. And he rebelled against the king of the Assyrians, and served him not.
8Philistinnawk to misa a tuk, Gaza vangpui ramri, misatoephaih imsang hoi sipae thungh ih vangpui khoek to praenawk to a lak.
8He smote the Philistines as far as Gaza, and all their borders, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.
9Hezekiah siangpahrang ah ohhaih saning palito, Israel siangpahrang Elah capa Hoshea siangpahrang ah ohhaih saning sarihto haih naah, Assyria siangpahrang Shalmaneser loe Samaria vangpui ah caeh moe, takui khoep.
9In the fourth year of king Ezechias, which was the seventh year of Osee the son of Ela king of Israel, Salmanasar king of the Assyrians came up to Samaria, and besieged it,
10Saning thumto boenghaih saning, Hezekiah siangpahrang ah ohhaih saning tarukto haih, Israel siangpahrang saning takawtto haih naah, Assyria kaminawk mah Samaria vangpui to lak o.
10And took it. For after three years, in the sixth year of Ezechias, that is, in the ninth year of Osee king of Israel, Samaria was taken:
11Assyria siangpahrang mah Israel kaminawk to, Assyria prae thungah misong ah hoih moe, Gozan vapui taeng, Medes prae ih Halah hoi Habor vangpui ah ohsak.
11And the king of the Assyrians carried away Israel into Assyria, and placed them in Hale, and in Habor by the rivers of Gozan in the cities of the Medes:

12Because they hearkened not to the voice of the Lord their God, but transgressed his covenant: all that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded, they would not hear nor do.
13Hezekiah siangpahrang ah ohhaih saning hatlaipalito naah, Assyria siangpahrang Sennakerib mah sipae thungh ih Judah vangpuinawk boih to tuk moe, lak.
13In the fourteenth year of king Ezechias, Sennacherib king of the Assyrians came up against the fenced cities of Juda: and took them.
14Judah siangpahrang Hezekiah mah, Lakish ah Assyria siangpahrang khaeah, Hmuen ka sakpazae moeng boeh; kai hae na caehtaak halat ah; nang hnik sarui kang paek han hmang, tiah a naa. Assyria siangpahrang mah Judah siangpahrang khaeah, phoisa talent cumvai thumto hoi sui talent quithumto hnik.
14Then Ezechias king of Juda sent messengers to the king of the Assyrians to Lachis, saying: I have offended, depart from me: and all that thou shalt put upon me, I will bear. And the king of the Assyrians put a tax upon Ezechias king of Juda, of three hundred talents of silver, and thirty talents of gold.
15To pongah Hezekiah mah Angraeng ih im hoi siangpahrang im ah suek ih phoisa to paek boih.
15And Ezechias gave all the silver that was found in the house of the Lord, and in the king’s treasures.
16Judah siangpahrang Hezekiah mah Angraeng tempul ih sui hoi pazut ih thok hoi thok tungnawk pong ih sui to khok moe, Assyria siangpahrang hanah paek.
16At that time Ezechias broke the doors of the temple of the Lord, and the plates of gold which he had fastened on them, and gave them to the king of the Assyrians.
17Assyria siangpahrang mah Tartan, Rabsaris hoi Rabshakeh cae to angmah ih kalen koek misatuh angraeng hoi nawnto Lakish vangpui hoiah Hezekiah siangpahrang khaeah Jerusalem ah patoeh. Nihcae loe Jerusalem ah angzoh o tahang moe, kahni pasuk kami ih lawk bang caehhaih loklam ranui ih kangbuem tuili taengah anghak o.
17And the king of the Assyrians sent Tharthan and Rabsaris, and Rabsaces from Lachis to king Ezechias with a strong army to Jerusalem: and they went up and came to Jerusalem, and they stood by the conduit of the upper pool, which is in the way of the fuller’s field.
18Nihcae mah siangpahrang to kawk o naah, siangpahrang im ukkung Hilkiah capa Eliakim, ca tarikkung Shebna, hmuenmae pakuemkung Asaph capa Joah cae loe nihcae khaeah caeh o.
18And they called for the king: and there went out to them Eliacim the son of Helcias who was over the house, and Sobna the scribe, and Joahe the son of Asaph the recorder.
19RabShakeh mah nihcae khaeah, Hezekiah khaeah hae tiah thui pae oh; Lensawk, Assyria siangpahrang mah, Tih hmuen maw nang oep o haih?
19And Rabsaces said to them: Speak to Ezechias: Thus saith the great king, the king of the Assyrians: What is this confidence, wherein thou trustest?
20Misatuk kophaih hoi thacakhaih ka tawnh, tiah amsawnlok na thuih o; kai tuk hanah mi maw nang oep o haih?
20Perhaps thou hast taken counsel, to prepare thyself for battle. On whom dost thou trust, that thou darest to rebel?
21Vaihiah khenah, nangcae loe angkhaek thaih sakrungkung, tiah thuih ih, Izip kaminawk nuiah ni nam ha o; to sakrungkung nuiah amha kami loe, sakrungkung mah ban quk puet moe, ahmaa caaksak baktiah ni na om o tih; Izip siangpahrang Faro mah, anih nuiah amha kaminawk boih loe to tiah sah tih.
21Dost thou trust in Egypt a staff of a broken reed, upon which if a man lean, it will break and go into his hand, and pierce it? so is Pharao king of Egypt, to all that trust in him.
22Toe nangcae mah kai khaeah, Kaicae loe kaimacae ih Angraeng Sithaw khaeah ni kam ha o, tiah na thuih o nahaeloe, anih ih hmuensangnawk hoi hmaicamnawk loe, Hezekiah mah phraek boih boeh; Judah hoi Jerusalem kaminawk khaeah, Nangcae loe Jerusalem vangpui ah hae ih hmaicam hmaa ah sithaw to bok oh, tiah ang thuih o na ai maw?
22But if you say to me: We trust in the Lord our God: is it not he, whose high places and altars Ezechias hath taken away: and hath commanded Juda and Jerusalem: You shall worship before this altar in Jerusalem?
23To pongah vaihi angzo oh loe, kai ih angraeng Assyria siangpahrang khaeah hmuenmae to ap oh; hrang angthueng kami na tawnh o nahaeloe, hrang sang hnetto kang paek han.
23Now therefore come over to my master the king of the Assyrians, and I will give you two thousand horses, and see whether you be able to have riders for them.
24Ka angraeng ih tamnanawk thung ih kathoeng koek misatuh angraeng mataeng doeh kawbangmaw na pazawk o thai tih? Izip prae hoiah hrang lakok hoi hrang angthueng kaminawk abomhaih ka hnu tih, tiah oephaih na tawnh o maw?
24And how can you stand against one lord of the least of my master’s servants? Dost thou trust in Egypt for chariots and for horsemen?
25Angraeng ih lok om ai ah, hae prae paro hanah kang zoh maw? Angraeng mah hae prae hae tuk moe, phraek hanah lok ang thuih boeh, tiah a naa.
25Is it without the will of the Lord that I am come up to this place to destroy it? The Lord said to me: Go up to this land and destroy it.
26To pacoengah Hilkiah capa Eliakim, Shebna hoi Joah cae mah, misatuh angraeng RabShakeh khaeah, Kaicae loe Syria lok ka thaih o kop pongah, tahmenhaih hoiah na tamnanawk khaeah, Syria lok hoiah na thui ah; sipae nuiah kaom kaminawk kangthaih ah Hebru lok hoiah na thui hmah, tiah a naa o.
26Then Eliacim the son of Helcias, and Sobna, and Joahe said to Rabsaces: We pray thee speak to us thy servants in Syriac: for we understand that tongue: and speak not to us in the Jews’ language, in the hearing of the people that are upon the wall.
27Toe misatuh angraeng mah, Nangcae hoi nangcae ih angraeng khae khue ah thuih han ih maw ka angraeng mah kai hae ang patoeh? Sipae nuiah anghnu kaminawk doeh nangcae hoi nawnto, angmacae ih aek to caak o moe, angmacae ih tamzuntui to naek o hanah, sipae nuiah anghnu kaminawk khaeah doeh thuih hanah ang patoeh na ai maw? tiah a naa.
27And Rabsaces answered them, saying: Hath my master sent me to thy master and to thee, to speak these words, and not rather to the men that sit upon the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their urine with you?
28To pacoengah misatuh angraeng loe angdoet, Hebru lok hoiah hangh moe, angraeng, Assyria siangpahrang ih lok hae tahngai oh!
28Then Rabsaces stood, and cried out with a loud voice in the Jews’ language, and said: Hear the words of the great king, the king of the Assyrians.
29Siangpahrang mah hae tiah thuih; Hezekiah mah ang ling o hmah nasoe; anih ban thung hoiah anih mah pahlong thai tang mak ai.
29Thus saith the king: Let not Ezechias deceive you: for he shall not be able to deliver you out of my hand.
30Hezekiah mah nangcae khaeah, Angraeng mah aicae pahlong tangtang tih; hae vangpui hae Assyria siangpahrang ban ah paek mak ai, tiah ang thuih o ih lok hoiah Angraeng to oep o hmah.
30Neither let him make you trust in the Lord, saying: The Lord will surely deliver us, and this city shall not be given into the hand of the king of the Assyrians.
31Hezekiah ih lok to tahngai pae o hmah; Assyria siangpahrang mah, Angzo oh loe, kai hoi angdaehhaih sah oh; to tiah nahaeloe kaminawk boih mah angmah ih takha thung ih misurthaih to caa o tih, kami boih mah angmah ih thaiduet thaih to caa ueloe, kami boih mah angmah ih tuikhaw thung ih tui to nae o tih;
31Do not hearken to Ezechias. For thus saith the king of the Assyrians: Do with me that which is for your advantage, and come out to me: and every man of you shall eat of his own vineyard, and of his own fig tree: and you shall drink water of your own cisterns,
32nangmacae prae hoi kanghmong, cang hoi misurthaih, takaw hoi misur takha, olive situi hoi khoitui ohhaih prae ah, suek hanah kang zo ai karoek to, na dueh o mak ai, na hing o tih; anih mah nangcae khaeah, Angraeng mah nangcae pahlong tih, tiah Hezekiah mah zoek ih lok to tahngai pae o hmah.
32Till I come, and take you away to a land, like to your own land, a fruitful land, and plentiful in wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of olives, and oil and honey, and you shall live, and not die. Hearken not to Ezechias, who deceiveth you, saying: The Lord will deliver us.
33Acaeng kaminawk ih sithawnawk mah Assyria siangpahrang ban thung hoiah prae to pahlong o vai maw?
33Have any of the gods of the nations delivered their land from the hand of the king of Assyria?
34Hamath hoi Arpad ih sithawnawk loe naa ah maw oh o? Sepharvaim, Hena hoi Ivah sithawnawk loe naa ah maw oh o? Nihcae mah Samaria vangpui to ka ban thung hoi pahlong o vai boeh maw?
34Where is the god of Emath, and of Arphad? where is the god of Sepharvaim, of Ana, and of Ava? have they delivered Samaria out of my hand?
35To acaeng kaminawk ih sithawnawk thungah kawbaktih sithaw mah maw a praenawk to ka ban thung hoiah pahlong vaih? To tiah om nahaeloe kawbangmaw Angraeng mah ka ban thung hoiah Jerusalem to pahlong tih? tiah thuih, tiah a naa.
35Who are they among all the gods of the nations, that have delivered their country out of my hand, that the Lord may deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?
36Toe siangpahrang mah, Anih ih lok pathim pae o hmah, tiah lokpaek pongah, anih ih lok to mi mah doeh pathim pae o ai; anghngai o taak duem.
36But the people held their peace, and answered him not a word: for they had received commandment from the king that they should not answer him.
37To pacoengah siangpahrang imthung ukkung Hilkiah capa Eliakim, ca tarikkung Shebna hoi hmuenmae pakuemkung Asaph capa Joah cae loe Hezekiah khaeah caeh o moe, angmacae ih kahni to asih o pacoengah, misatuh angraeng RabShakeh mah thuih ih lok to thuih pae o.
37And Eliacim the son of Helcias, who was over the house, and Sobna the scribe, and Joahe the son of Asaph the recorder, came to Ezechias, with their garments rent, and told him the words of Rabsaces.
