Romans 5

Berean Standard Bible
Coptic New Testament
1Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
1ⲉⲧⲁⲩ⳿ⲑⲙⲁⲓⲟⲛ ⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲫⲛⲁϩϯ ⲙⲁⲣⲉⲛ⳿ⲓⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩϩⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ϧⲁⲧⲉⲛ ⲫϯ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉⲛ⳪ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅.
2through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
2ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲁ ⳿ⲡϫⲓⲛ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲛⲁⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲧϥ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲫⲛⲁϩϯ ⳿ⲉⲡⲁⲓ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟϩⲓ ⳿ⲉⲣⲁⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲛϣⲟⲩϣⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲡⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ.
3Not only that, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;
3ⲟⲩ ⲙⲟⲛⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲛⲉⲣ⳿ⲡⲕⲉϣⲟⲩϣⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲓϩⲟϫϩⲉϫ ⲉⲛ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ϫⲉ ⲡⲓϩⲟϫϩⲉϫ ⲁϥⲉⲣϩⲱⲃ ⲉⲩϩⲩⲡⲟⲙⲟⲛⲏ.
4perseverance, character; and character, hope.
4ϯϩⲩⲡⲟⲙⲟⲛⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲩⲇⲟⲕⲓⲙⲏ ϯⲇⲟⲕⲓⲙⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲩϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ.
5And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.
5ϯϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲥϭⲓϣⲓⲡⲓ ϫⲉ ϯⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⲁⲥⲫⲱⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉⲛϩⲏⲧ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⲉⲑⲟⲩⲁⲃ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲧⲏ ⲓϥ ⲛⲁⲛ.
6For at just the right time, while we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.
6ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲧⲓ ⲉⲛⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛⲁⲥⲑⲉⲛⲏⲥ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲏⲟⲩ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲛⲓ⳿ⲁⲥⲉⲃⲏⲥ.
7Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.
7ⲙⲟⲅⲓⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ϣⲁⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲙⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⲧⲁⲭⲁ ⲅⲁⲣ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲉⲣⲧⲟⲗⲙⲁⲛ ⳿ⲉⲙⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲡⲉⲑⲛⲁⲛⲉϥ.
8But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
8⳿ϥⲧⲁϩⲟ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉϥⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ⳿ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟⲛ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲫϯ ϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲓ ⲉⲛⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛⲣⲉϥⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲱⲛ.
9Therefore, since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from wrath through Him!
9⳿ⲛϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ⲙⲁⲗⲗⲟⲛ ⲉⲧⲁⲩ⳿ⲑⲙⲁⲓⲟⲛ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲡⲉϥ⳿ⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲉⲛ⳿ⲉⲛⲟϩⲉⲙ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲧϥ ⲥⲁⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲡϫⲱⲛⲧ.
10For if, when we were enemies of God, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life!
10ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲛⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛϫⲁϫⲓ ⲁⲛϩⲱⲧⲡ ⳿ⲉⲫϯ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲫⲙⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲉϥϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ⲙⲁⲗⲗⲟⲛ ⲉⲧⲁⲛϩⲱⲧⲡ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉⲛ⳿ⲉⲛⲟϩⲉⲙ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉϥⲱⲛϧ.
11Not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
11ⲟⲩ ⲙⲟⲛⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁⲛⲉⲣ⳿ⲡⲕⲉϣⲟⲩϣⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ⲫϯ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉⲛ⳪ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲁⲛϭⲓ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓϩⲱⲧⲡ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲧϥ.
12Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, so also death was passed on to all men, because all sinned.
12ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲉⲧⲁ ⳿ⲫⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲉⲡⲓⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲫⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲁ ⳿ⲫⲙⲟⲩ ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲁ ⲡⲓⲙⲟⲩ ϣⲉ ⳿ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲁⲩⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧϥ.
13For sin was in the world before the law was given; but sin is not taken into account when there is no law.
13ϣⲁ ⳿ⲫⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲁⲣⲉ ⳿ⲫⲛⲟⲃⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⳿ⲫⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩⲱⲡ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲁⲛ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ϣⲟⲡ.
14Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who did not sin in the way that Adam transgressed. He is a pattern of the One to come.
14ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⳿ⲫⲙⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲉⲣⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲓⲥϫⲉⲛ ⲁⲇⲁⲙ ϣⲁ ⲙⲱ⳿ⲩⲥⲏⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲉ ⳿ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡ⳿ⲓⲛⲓ ⳿ⲛϯⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲁⲥⲓⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ Ⲁⲇⲁⲙ ⲉⲧⲉ ⳿ⲡⲧⲩⲡⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲉⲑⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ.
15But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many!
15ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲁⲛ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲡⲁⲣⲁ⳿ⲡⲧⲱⲙⲁ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲡⲁⲣⲁⲡⲧⲱⲙⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲁ ⲟⲩⲙⲏϣ ⲙⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲙⲁⲗⲗⲟⲛ ⲡⲓ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⲛⲉⲙ ϯⲇⲱⲣⲉ⳿ⲁ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲁϥⲉⲣϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩⲙⲏϣ.
16Again, the gift is not like the result of the one man’s sin: The judgment that followed one sin brought condemnation, but the gift that followed many trespasses brought justification.
16ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲧⲉ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⳿ⲉⲁϥⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲓⲧⲁⲓⲟ ⲡⲓϩⲁⲡ ⲙⲉⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲩⲕⲁⲧⲁ⳿ⲕⲣⲓⲙⲁ ⲡⲓ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲏϣ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲣⲁ⳿ⲡⲧⲱⲙⲁ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲑⲙⲁⲓⲟ.
17For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive an abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!
17ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲫⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲁ ⳿ⲫⲙⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲉⲣⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⳿ⲛϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ⲙⲁⲗⲗⲟⲛ ⲛⲏⲉⲑⲛⲁϭⲓ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲉⲙ ϯⲇⲱⲣⲉ⳿ⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϯⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲉⲉⲣⲟⲩⲣⲟ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲱⲛϧ ϣⲁ ⳿ⲉⲛⲉϩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅.
18So then, just as one trespass brought condemnation for all men, so also one act of righteousness brought justification and life for all men.
18ϩⲁⲣⲁ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲉⲧⲁ ⳿ⲫⲛⲟⲃⲓ ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲁϥ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲩϩⲓⲟⲩⲓ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲡϩⲁⲡ ⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲟⲛ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲑⲙⲁⲓⲟ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲑⲙⲁⲓⲟ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲡⲱⲛϧ.
19For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
19⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲧⲉ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲑⲙⲉⲧⲁⲧⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲓ ⳿ⲛⲣⲉϥⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙⲏϣ ⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲟⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲑⲙⲉⲧⲣⲉϥⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲥⲉⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲓ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙⲏϣ.
20The law came in so that the trespass would increase; but where sin increased, grace increased all the more,
20ⲫⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲫⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⳿ⲁϣⲁⲓ ⲫⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲁ ⲡⲉϥⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲉⲣϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ⲁϥⲉⲣϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ⳿ⲁϣⲁⲓ ⲛⲁϥ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲡⲓ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ.
21so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
21ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲉⲧⲁ ⳿ⲫⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲉⲣⲟⲩⲣⲟ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲫⲙⲟⲩ ⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲟⲛ ⲡⲓ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉϥⲉⲣⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ϯⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⲉⲩⲱⲛϧ ϣⲁ ⲉⲛⲉϩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲡⲉⲛ⳪
