1If only You would rend the heavens and come down, so that mountains would quake at Your presence,
1願你裂天而降； 願山在你面前震動－
2as fire kindles the brushwood and causes the water to boil, to make Your name known to Your enemies, so that the nations will tremble at Your presence!
2好像火燒乾柴， 又像火將水燒開， 使你敵人知道你的名， 使列國在你面前發顫！
3When You did awesome works that we did not expect, You came down, and the mountains trembled at Your presence.
3你曾行我們不能逆料可畏的事。 那時你降臨，山嶺在你面前震動。
4From ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides You, who acts on behalf of those who wait for Him.
4從古以來，人未曾聽見、未曾耳聞、未曾眼見 在你以外有甚麼神為等候他的人行事。
5You welcome those who gladly do right, who remember Your ways. Surely You were angry, for we sinned. How can we be saved if we remain in our sins?
5你迎接那歡喜行義、記念你道的人； 你曾發怒，我們 仍 犯罪； 這景況已久，我們還能得救嗎？
6Each of us has become like something unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all wither like a leaf, and our iniquities carry us away like the wind.
6我們都像不潔淨的人； 所有的義都像污穢的衣服。 我們都像葉子漸漸枯乾； 我們的罪孽好像風把我們吹去。
7No one calls on Your name or strives to take hold of You. For You have hidden Your face from us and delivered us into the hand of our iniquity.
7並且無人求告你的名； 無人奮力抓住你。 原來你掩面不顧我們， 使我們因罪孽消化。
8But now, O LORD, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You are the potter; we are all the work of Your hand.
8耶和華啊，現在你仍是我們的父！ 我們是泥，你是窯匠； 我們都是你手的工作。
9Do not be angry, O LORD, beyond measure; do not remember our iniquity forever. Oh, look upon us, we pray; we are all Your people!
9耶和華啊，求你不要大發震怒， 也不要永遠記念罪孽。 求你垂顧我們， 我們都是你的百姓。
10Your holy cities have become a wilderness. Zion has become a wasteland and Jerusalem a desolation.
10你的聖邑變為曠野。 錫安 變為曠野； 耶路撒冷 成為荒場。
11Our holy and beautiful temple, where our fathers praised You, has been burned with fire, and all that was dear to us lies in ruins.
11我們聖潔華美的殿－ 就是我們列祖讚美你的所在被火焚燒； 我們所羨慕的美地盡都荒廢。
12After all this, O LORD, will You restrain Yourself? Will You keep silent and afflict us beyond measure?
12耶和華啊，有這些事，你還忍得住嗎？ 你仍靜默使我們深受苦難嗎？
