1Now the Philistines brought all their forces together at Aphek, while Israel camped by the spring in Jezreel.
1Dume la Filiŝtoj kolektis sian tutan militistaron en Afek; kaj la Izraelidoj staris tendare apud la fonto, kiu estas en Jizreel.
2As the Philistine leaders marched out their units of hundreds and thousands, David and his men marched behind them with Achish.
2La estroj de la Filiŝtoj preterpasis kun siaj centoj kaj miloj, kaj David kun siaj viroj preterpasis en la fina parto kun Aĥiŝ.
3Then the commanders of the Philistines asked, “What about these Hebrews?” Achish replied, “Is this not David, the servant of King Saul of Israel? He has been with me all these days, even years, and from the day he defected until today I have found no fault in him.”
3Kaj la estroj de la Filiŝtoj diris: Por kio estas ĉi tiuj Hebreoj? Sed Aĥiŝ respondis al la estroj de la Filiŝtoj: Tio estas ja David, servanto de Saul, reĝo de Izrael; li estis kun mi kelkan tempon aŭ eĉ jarojn, kaj mi trovis en li nenion de post la tago de la defalo ĝis nun.
4But the commanders of the Philistines were angry with Achish and told him, “Send that man back and let him return to the place you assigned him. He must not go down with us into battle only to become our adversary during the war. What better way for him to regain the favor of his master than with the heads of our men?
4Sed ekkoleris kontraŭ li la estroj de la Filiŝtoj, kaj la estroj de la Filiŝtoj diris al li: Reirigu tiun viron, kaj li revenu sur sian lokon, kiun vi destinis por li, sed li ne iru kun ni en la batalon kaj ne fariĝu nia kontraŭulo dum la batalo; ĉar per kio ĉi tiu povus favorigi al si sian sinjoron, se ne per la kapoj de niaj viroj?
5Is this not the David about whom they sing in their dances: ‘Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands’?”
5Ĉu tio ne estas ja tiu David, pri kiu oni kantis en la dancrondoj jene: Saul frapis milojn, Kaj David dekmilojn?
6So Achish summoned David and told him, “As surely as the LORD lives, you have been upright in my sight, and it seems right that you should march in and out with me in the army, because I have found no fault in you from the day you came to me until this day. But you have no favor in the sight of the leaders.
6Tiam Aĥiŝ alvokis Davidon, kaj diris al li: Kiel vivas la Eternulo, vi estas honesta, kaj plaĉas al mi via agado kun mi en la tendaro; mi ne trovis en vi malbonon de post la tago de via veno al mi ĝis hodiaŭ; sed al la estroj vi ne plaĉas.
7Therefore turn back now and go in peace, so that you will not do anything to displease the leaders of the Philistines.”
7Reiru do nun kaj iru en paco, por ke vi ne faru ion ne plaĉan al la estroj de la Filiŝtoj.
8“But what have I done?” David replied. “What have you found against your servant, from the day I came to you until today, to keep me from going along to fight against the enemies of my lord the king?”
8Sed David diris al Aĥiŝ: Kion mi faris, kaj kion vi trovis en via sklavo de post la tago, kiam mi stariĝis antaŭ vi, ĝis nun, ke mi ne iru kaj ne batalu kontraŭ la malamikoj de mia sinjoro la reĝo?
9Achish replied, “I know that you are as pleasing in my sight as an angel of God. But the commanders of the Philistines have said, ‘He must not go into battle with us.’
9Kaj Aĥiŝ respondis kaj diris al David: Mi scias, ke vi estas bona antaŭ miaj okuloj, kiel anĝelo de Dio; sed la estroj de la Filiŝtoj diras: Li ne iru kun ni en la batalon.
10Now then, get up early in the morning, along with your master’s servants who came with you, and go as soon as it is light.”
10Leviĝu do frue matene kun la servantoj de via sinjoro, kiuj venis kun vi; leviĝu frue matene kaj, kiam vi havos lumon, foriru.
11So David and his men got up early in the morning to return to the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to Jezreel.
11Kaj David, li mem kaj liaj viroj, leviĝis frue, por iri matene, por reveni en la landon de la Filiŝtoj; kaj la Filiŝtoj direktis sin al Jizreel.
