1Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of the region of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene,
1ကဲသာ ဘုရင် တိဗေရိ နန်းစံ တစ်ဆယ်ငါး နှစ် တွင် ၊ ယုဒ ပြည်၌ ပုန္တိ ပိလတ် သည်မြို့ဝန် အရာ၊ ဂါလိလဲ ပြည်၌ ဟေရုဒ် သည် စော်ဘွား အရာ၊ ဣတုရဲ ပြည်နှင့် တရာခေါနိတ် ပြည် ၌ ဟေရုဒ် ညီ ဖိလိပ္ပု သည် စော်ဘွား အရာ၊ အဘိလင် ပြည်၌ လုသာနိ သည် စော်ဘွား အရာ၊
2during the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John, the son of Zacharias, in the wilderness.
2အန္န နှင့် ကယာဖ တို့သည် ယဇ်ပုရောဟိတ် မင်းအရာ၊ အသီးအသီးရှိကြသောအခါ ၊ တော ၌ ရှိသော ဇာခရိ ၏သား ယောဟန် သည် ဘုရားသခင် ၏ ဗျာဒိတ် တော်ကို ခံရ၏ ။
3He came into all the region around the Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for remission of sins.
3ပရောဖက် ဟေရှာယ ၏ ကျမ်းစာ ၌ လာ သည်ကား၊ တော ၌ ဟစ်ကြော် သောသူ၏အသံ မှာ၊ ထာဝရ ဘုရားကြွတော်မူရာလမ်း ကို ပြင် ကြလော့။
4As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, “The voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make ready the way of the Lord. Make his paths straight.
4လမ်း ခရီးတော်ကို ဖြောင့် စေကြလော့။ ချိုင့်ဝှမ်း ရာရှိသမျှ တို့ကို ဖို့ ရမည်။ တောင်ကြီး တောင်ငယ် ရှိသမျှ တို့ကို ဖြို ရမည်။ ကောက် သောလမ်းများကို ဖြောင့် စေရ မည်။
5Every valley will be filled. Every mountain and hill will be brought low. The crooked will become straight, and the rough ways smooth.
5ကြမ်းတမ်း သောလမ်းများကိုလည်း သုတ်သင်ပြင်ဆင် ရမည်။
6All flesh will see God’s salvation.’”
6လူ အပေါင်း တို့သည် ဘုရားသခင် ၏ ကယ်တင် တော်မူခြင်းအကြောင်း ကို မြင် ရကြလတံ့ဟု လာသည်နှင့်အညီ၊ ယောဟန်သည် ယော်ဒန် မြစ်နား ၌ အနှံ့အပြား လှည့်လည် ၍ အပြစ် လွှတ် ခြင်းအဘို့ အလိုငှာ နောင်တ နှင့် စပ်ဆိုင်သော ဗတ္တိဇံ တရားကို ဟော လေ၏။
7He said therefore to the multitudes who went out to be baptized by him, “You offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
7ထိုအခါ ၊ ဗတ္တိဇံ ကို ခံအံ့သောငှာလာ ကြသော လူ အစုအဝေးတို့အား ယောဟန် ဟောပြော သည်ကား၊ အချင်းမြွေဆိုး အမျိုး တို့၊ ရောက် လုသောဘေးဒဏ် မှ ပြေးသွား စိမ့်သောငှာအဘယ်သူ သည် သင် တို့ကို သတိပေး ဘိသနည်း။
8Therefore produce fruits worthy of repentance, and don’t begin to say among yourselves, ‘We have Abraham for our father;’ for I tell you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones!
8နောင်တရ ခြင်းနှင့် ထိုက်တန် သောအကျင့် ကို ကျင့် ကြလော့။ အာဗြဟံ သည် ငါတို့အဘ ဖြစ် သည်ဟူ၍စိတ်ထဲ၌ မ အောက်မေ့ ကြနှင့်။ ဘုရားသခင် သည် ကျောက်ခဲ တို့မှ အာဗြဟံ သား တို့ကိုထုတ်ဘော် ဖန်ဆင်းနိုင် တော်မူသည်ဟု ငါအမှန် ဆို ၏။
9Even now the ax also lies at the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that doesn’t produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”
9သစ်ပင် အမြစ် နား မှာ ပုဆိန် ထား လျက်ရှိသည် ဖြစ်၍၊ ကောင်း သောအသီး မ သီး သောအပင် ရှိသမျှ တို့ကို ခုတ်လှဲ ၍ မီး ထဲသို့ ချ လိုက်ရသည်ဟု ဟောပြောလေ၏။
10The multitudes asked him, “What then must we do?”
10လူ အစုအဝေးကလည်း ၊ သို့ဖြစ်လျှင် အကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် အဘယ်သို့ ပြု ရပါမည်နည်းဟု မေးလျှောက် ကြ သော်၊
11He answered them, “He who has two coats, let him give to him who has none. He who has food, let him do likewise.”
11ယောဟန်က၊ အင်္ကျီ နှစ် ထည်ရှိ သောသူ သည် အင်္ကျီမ ရှိ သောသူ အားမျှ စေ။ စားစရာ ရှိ သောသူ သည် လည်း ထိုနည်းတူ ပြု စေဟု ပြန်ပြော ၏။
12Tax collectors also came to be baptized, and they said to him, “Teacher, what must we do?”
12အခွန်ခံ သူတို့သည် ဗတ္တိဇံ ကို ခံခြင်းငှာလာ ၍ ၊ အရှင် ဘုရား၊ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် အဘယ်သို့ ပြု ရပါမည်နည်းဟု မေးလျှောက် ကြလျှင် ၊
13He said to them, “Collect no more than that which is appointed to you.”
13သင် တို့သခင်သည် ခွဲဝေ စီမံသည်ထက် သာ၍ မ ခွဲ မခံကြနှင့်ဟု ပြန်ပြော ၏။
14Soldiers also asked him, saying, “What about us? What must we do?” He said to them, “Extort from no one by violence, neither accuse anyone wrongfully. Be content with your wages.”
14စစ်သူရဲ တို့ကလည်း အကျွန်ုပ် တို့သည် အဘယ်သို့ ပြု ရပါမည်နည်းဟု မေးလျှောက် ကြလျှင် ၊ သင်တို့သည် အဘယ်သူ ကိုမျှ အနိုင် အထက်မပြုကြနှင့်။ အဘယ်သူကိုမျှ မ လျှပ် ကြနှင့်။ ကိုယ် ရသောအခ နှင့် ရောင့်ရဲ ကြလော့ဟု ပြန်ပြော ၏။
15As the people were in expectation, and all men reasoned in their hearts concerning John, whether perhaps he was the Christ,
15လူ အများ တို့သည် မြော်လင့် ၍ ၊ ယောဟန် သည် ခရစ်တော် မှန် သည်မမှန်သည်ကို နှလုံး ထဲမှာ တွေးတော ဆင်ခြင်ကြစဉ်၊
16John answered them all, “I indeed baptize you with water, but he comes who is mightier than I, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to loosen. He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire.
16ယောဟန် သည် လူအပေါင်း တို့အား ပြန်ပြော သည်ကား၊ ငါ သည်သင် တို့အား ရေ ၌ ဗတ္တိဇံ ကိုပေး၏။ ငါ့ ထက်တတ်စွမ်း နိုင်သောသူ သည် ကြွလာ သေး၏။ ထိုသူ ၏ခြေ တော်ကြိုး ကိုမျှ ဖြည် ခြင်းငှာငါမ ထိုက် ။ ထိုသူ သည် သန့်ရှင်း သောဝိညာဉ် တော်၌ ၎င်း ၊ မီး ၌၎င်း သင် တို့ကိုဗတ္တိဇံ ကိုပေးမည်။
17His winnowing fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his threshing floor, and will gather the wheat into his barn; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
17လက် တော်တွင် စံကော ပါလျက် မိမိ ကောက်နယ် တလင်းကို ရှင်းလင်း စေသဖြင့်၊ ဂျုံ စပါးကိုကား ကျီ ၌ စုသိမ်း သွင်းထား၍ ၊ အဖျင်း ကိုကား မငြိမ်းနိုင် သောမီး နှင့် ရှို့ တော်မူလတံ့ဟု ပြောဆို ၏။
18Then with many other exhortations he preached good news to the people,
18အခြား သောစကားများ နှင့် ဆုံးမ သွေးဆောင်၍ ဧဝံဂေလိတရား ကို လူ အများတို့အားဟောပြော လေ၏။
19but Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him for Herodias, his brother’s wife, and for all the evil things which Herod had done,
19ထိုနောက် စော်ဘွား ဟေရုဒ် သည် မိမိ ညီ ၏ ခင်ပွန်း ဟေရောဒိ အကြောင်း မှစ၍ ၊ မိမိပြု သောဒုစရိုက် အပြစ်ရှိသမျှ တို့ကို ယောဟန် သည် ဖော်ပြ ဆုံးမသောကြောင့်၊
20added this also to them all, that he shut up John in prison.
20ဟေရုဒ် သည် အရင်အပြစ်ရှိသမျှ တို့အပေါ်မှာ အပြစ်သစ်ကိုထပ်လောင်း ၍ ယောဟန် ကို ထောင် ထဲမှာ လှောင် ထား၏။
21Now when all the people were baptized, Jesus also had been baptized and was praying. The sky was opened,
21လူ အပေါင်း တို့သည် ဗတ္တိဇံ ကိုခံကြသောအခါ ၊ ယေရှု သည်လည်း ဗတ္တိဇံ ကိုခံတော်မူ၍ ဆုတောင်း စဉ် တွင်၊ ကောင်းကင် ဖွင့်လှစ် သဖြင့်၊
22and the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily form like a dove on him; and a voice came out of the sky, saying “You are my beloved Son. In you I am well pleased.”
22သန့်ရှင်း သောဝိညာဉ် တော်သည် ချိုးငှက် ကဲ့သို့ ကိုယ် ထင်ရှား လျက် ကိုယ်တော် ပေါ်၌ ဆင်းသက် တော်မူ၍ ၊ သင် ကား၊ ငါနှစ်သက် မြတ်နိုးရာ၊ ငါ ၏ချစ် သား ပေတည်း ဟု ကောင်းကင် က အသံ တော်ဖြစ် လေ၏။
23Jesus himself, when he began to teach, was about thirty years old, being the son (as was supposed) of Joseph, the son of Heli,
23ထိုအခါ ယေရှု သည် အနှစ် သုံးဆယ် ခန့် မျှရှိ တော်မူ၏။ လူများအထင် အမှတ်အားဖြင့် ကိုယ်တော်၏ အဘကား ယောသပ် တည်း။ ယောသပ်အဘဧလိ ၊
24the son of Matthat, the son of Levi, the son of Melchi, the son of Jannai, the son of Joseph,
24ဧလိအဘ မဿတ် ၊ မဿတ်အဘလေဝိ ။ လေဝိအဘ မေလခိ ၊ မေလခိအဘ ယန္န ၊ ယန္နအဘ ယောသပ် ၊
25the son of Mattathias, the son of Amos, the son of Nahum, the son of Esli, the son of Naggai,
25ယောသပ်အဘမတ္တသိ ၊ မတ္တသိအဘ အာမုတ် ၊ အာမုတ်အဘနာဟုံ ၊ နာဟုံအဘဧသလိ ၊
26the son of Maath, the son of Mattathias, the son of Semein, the son of Joseph, the son of Judah,
26ဧသလိအဘနဂ္ဂဲ ၊ နဂ္ဂဲအဘ မာအတ် ၊ မာအတ်အဘမတ္တသိ ၊ မတ္တသိအဘ ရှေမိ ၊ ရှေမိအဘ ယောသပ် ၊ ယောသပ်အဘယုဒ ၊ ယုဒအဘယောဟန္န ၊
27the son of Joanan, the son of Rhesa, the son of Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, the son of Neri,
27ယောဟန္နအဘ ရေသ ၊ ရေသအဘ ဇေရုဗဗေလ ၊ ဇေရုဗဗေလအဘ ရှာလသေလ ၊ ရှာလသေလအဘနေရိ ၊ နေရိအဘ မေလခိ ၊ မေလခိအဘ အဒ္ဒိ ၊
28the son of Melchi, the son of Addi, the son of Cosam, the son of Elmodam, the son of Er,
