1The children of Israel again did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight; and the LORD delivered them into the hand of the Philistines forty years.
1以色列 人又行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，耶和华将他们交在 非利士 人手中四十年。
2There was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren, and childless.
2那时，有一个 琐拉 人，是属 但 族的，名叫 玛挪亚 。他的妻不怀孕，不生育。
3The LORD’s angel appeared to the woman, and said to her, “See now, you are barren and childless; but you shall conceive and bear a son.
3耶和华的使者向那妇人显现，对她说：「向来你不怀孕，不生育，如今你必怀孕生一个儿子。
4Now therefore please beware and drink no wine nor strong drink, and don’t eat any unclean thing;
4所以你当谨慎，清酒浓酒都不可喝，一切不洁之物也不可吃。
5for, behold, you shall conceive and give birth to a son. No razor shall come on his head, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb. He shall begin to save Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.”
5你必怀孕生一个儿子，不可用剃头刀剃他的头，因为这孩子一出胎就归 神作拿细耳人。他必起首拯救 以色列 人脱离 非利士 人的手。」
6Then the woman came and told her husband, saying, “A man of God came to me, and his face was like the face of the angel of God, very awesome. I didn’t ask him where he was from, neither did he tell me his name;
6妇人就回去对丈夫说：「有一个神人到我面前来，他的相貌如 神使者的相貌，甚是可畏。我没有问他从哪里来，他也没有将他的名告诉我，
7but he said to me, ‘Behold, you shall conceive and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink. Don’t eat any unclean thing, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb to the day of his death.’”
7却对我说：『你要怀孕生一个儿子，所以清酒浓酒都不可喝，一切不洁之物也不可吃；因为这孩子从出胎一直到死，必归 神作拿细耳人。』」
8Then Manoah entreated the LORD, and said, “Oh, Lord, please let the man of God whom you sent come again to us, and teach us what we should do to the child who shall be born.”
8玛挪亚 就祈求耶和华说：「主啊，求你再差遣那神人到我们这里来，好指教我们怎样待这将要生的孩子。」
9God listened to the voice of Manoah, and the angel of God came again to the woman as she sat in the field; but Manoah, her husband, wasn’t with her.
9神应允 玛挪亚 的话；妇人正坐在田间的时候， 神的使者又到她那里，她丈夫 玛挪亚 却没有同她在一处。
10The woman hurried and ran, and told her husband, saying to him, “Behold, the man who came to me that day has appeared to me.”
10妇人急忙跑去告诉丈夫说：「那日到我面前来的人，又向我显现。」
11Manoah arose and followed his wife, and came to the man, and said to him, “Are you the man who spoke to my wife?” He said, “I am.”
11玛挪亚 起来跟随他的妻来到那人面前，对他说：「与这妇人说话的就是你吗？」他说：「是我。」
12Manoah said, “Now let your words happen. What shall the child’s way of life and mission be?”
12玛挪亚 说：「愿你的话应验！我们当怎样待这孩子，他后来当怎样呢？」
13The LORD’s angel said to Manoah, “Of all that I said to the woman let her beware.
13耶和华的使者对 玛挪亚 说：「我告诉妇人的一切事，她都当谨慎。
14She may not eat of anything that comes of the vine, neither let her drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing. Let her observe all that I commanded her.”
14葡萄树所结的都不可吃，清酒浓酒都不可喝，一切不洁之物也不可吃。凡我所吩咐的，她都当遵守。」
15Manoah said to the LORD’s angel, “Please stay with us, that we may make a young goat ready for you.”
15玛挪亚 对耶和华的使者说：「求你容我们款留你，好为你预备一只山羊羔。」
16The LORD’s angel said to Manoah, “Though you detain me, I won’t eat your bread. If you will prepare a burnt offering, you must offer it to the LORD.” For Manoah didn’t know that he was the LORD’s angel.
16耶和华的使者对 玛挪亚 说：「你虽然款留我，我却不吃你的食物，你若预备燔祭就当献与耶和华。」原来 玛挪亚 不知道他是耶和华的使者。
17Manoah said to the LORD’s angel, “What is your name, that when your words happen, we may honor you?”
17玛挪亚 对耶和华的使者说：「请将你的名告诉我，到你话应验的时候，我们好尊敬你。」
18The LORD’s angel said to him, “Why do you ask about my name, since it is incomprehensible?”
18耶和华的使者对他说：「你何必问我的名，我名是奇妙的。」
19So Manoah took the young goat with the meal offering, and offered it on the rock to the LORD. Then the angel did an amazing thing as Manoah and his wife watched.
19玛挪亚 将一只山羊羔和素祭在磐石上献与耶和华， 使者 行奇妙的事； 玛挪亚 和他的妻观看，
20For when the flame went up toward the sky from off the altar, the LORD’s angel ascended in the flame of the altar. Manoah and his wife watched; and they fell on their faces to the ground.
20见火焰从坛上往上升，耶和华的使者在坛上的火焰中也升上去了。 玛挪亚 和他的妻看见，就俯伏于地。
21But the LORD’s angel didn’t appear to Manoah or to his wife any more. Then Manoah knew that he was the LORD’s angel.
21耶和华的使者不再向 玛挪亚 和他的妻显现， 玛挪亚 才知道他是耶和华的使者。
22Manoah said to his wife, “We shall surely die, because we have seen God.”
22玛挪亚 对他的妻说：「我们必要死，因为看见了 神。」
23But his wife said to him, “If the LORD were pleased to kill us, he wouldn’t have received a burnt offering and a meal offering at our hand, and he wouldn’t have shown us all these things, nor would he have told us such things as these at this time.”
23他的妻却对他说：「耶和华若要杀我们，必不从我们手里收纳燔祭和素祭，并不将这一切事指示我们，今日也不将这些话告诉我们。」
24The woman bore a son and named him Samson. The child grew, and the LORD blessed him.
24后来妇人生了一个儿子，给他起名叫 参孙 。孩子长大，耶和华赐福与他。
25The LORD’s Spirit began to move him in Mahaneh Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.
25在 玛哈尼·但 ，就是 琐拉 和 以实陶 中间，耶和华的灵才感动他。
