1Paulus und Silvanus und Timotheus der Gemeinde zu Thessalonich in Gott, unserm Vater, und dem HERRN Jesus Christus:

2Gnade sei mit euch und Friede von Gott, unserm Vater, und dem HERRN Jesus Christus!
3ʻOku totonu ʻemau fakafetaʻi maʻuaipē ki he ʻOtua koeʻuhi ko kimoutolu, ʻe kāinga, ʻo hangē ko ia ʻoku taau, koeʻuhi ʻoku tupu ʻo lahi ʻaupito ʻaupito hoʻomou tui, pea ʻoku tupulekina ʻa hoʻomou feʻofaʻaki kiate kimoutolu kotoa pē;
3Wir sollen Gott danken allezeit um euch, liebe Brüder, wie es billig ist; denn euer Glauben wächst sehr, und die Liebe eines jeglichen unter euch allen nimmt zu gegeneinander,
4Ko ia ʻoku mau vikiviki koeʻuhi ko kimoutolu ki he ngaahi siasi ʻoe ʻOtua, ʻi hoʻomou faʻa kātaki mo e tui, ʻi homou ngaahi fakatanga kotoa pē, mo e ngaahi mamahi, ʻoku mou faʻa kātakiʻi:
4also daß wir uns euer rühmen unter den Gemeinden Gottes über eure Geduld und euren Glauben in allen Verfolgungen und Trübsalen, die ihr duldet;
5ʻAia ko e fakaʻilonga ʻoe fakamaau totonu ʻoe ʻOtua, koeʻuhi ke lau ʻakimoutolu ʻoku mou taau mo e puleʻanga ʻoe ʻOtua, ʻaia ʻoku mou mamahi ai foki:
5welches anzeigt, daß Gott recht richten wird und ihr würdig werdet zum Reich Gottes, für das ihr auch leidet;
6He ko e meʻa totonu ʻi he ʻOtua ke totongi ʻaki ʻae mamahi kiate kinautolu ʻoku fakamamahiʻi ʻakimoutolu;
6nach dem es recht ist bei Gott, zu vergelten Trübsal denen, die euch Trübsal antun,
7Ka kiate kimoutolu ʻoku mamahi, ko e fiemālie mo kimautolu, ʻoka fakahā mai ʻae ʻEiki ko Sisu mei he langi mo ʻene kau ʻāngelo mālohi,
7euch aber, die ihr Trübsal leidet, Ruhe mit uns, wenn nun der HERR Jesus wird offenbart werden vom Himmel samt den Engeln seiner Kraft
8ʻI he afi uloulo mo e fai totongi kiate kinautolu ʻoku ʻikai te nau ʻilo ʻae ʻOtua, pea ʻoku ʻikai talangofua ki he ongoongolelei ʻo hotau ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi:
8und mit Feuerflammen, Rache zu geben über die, so Gott nicht erkennen, und über die so nicht gehorsam sind dem Evangelium unsers HERRN Jesu Christi,
9ʻAkinautolu ʻe tautea ʻaki ʻae fakaʻauha taʻengata mei he ʻao ʻoe ʻEiki, pea mei he nāunau ʻo ʻene māfimafi;
9welche werden Pein leiden, das ewige Verderben von dem Angesichte des HERRN und von seiner herrlichen Macht,
10ʻOka haʻu ia ke fakahikihikiʻi ʻe heʻene kakai māʻoniʻoni, pea ke fakatumutumu ai, ʻi he ʻaho ko ia, ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku tui; he naʻa mou tui ki he ʻemau fakamoʻoni ʻiate kimoutolu.
10wenn er kommen wird, daß er herrlich erscheine mit seinen Heiligen und wunderbar mit allen Gläubigen; denn unser Zeugnis an euch von diesem Tage habt ihr geglaubt.
11Ko ia foki ʻoku mau lotua maʻuaipē ʻakimoutolu, koeʻuhi ke lau ʻe hotau ʻOtua ʻoku mou taau mo e ui ni , ke ne fakakakato ʻae finangalo lelei kotoa pē ʻo ʻene angalelei, mo e ngaue ʻae tui, ʻi he mālohi:
11Und derhalben beten wir auch allezeit für euch, daß unser Gott euch würdig mache zur Berufung und erfülle alles Wohlgefallen der Güte und das Werk des Glaubens in der Kraft,
12Koeʻuhi ke ongoongoleleiʻia ʻae huafa ʻo hotau ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi ʻiate kimoutolu, mo kimoutolu ʻiate ia, ʻo fakatatau ki he ʻofa ʻa hotau ʻOtua mo e ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi.
12auf daß an euch gepriesen werde der Namen unsers HERRN Jesu Christi und ihr an ihm, nach der Gnade unsres Gottes und des HERRN Jesu Christi.
