1После сего народ двинулся из Асирофа, и остановился в пустыне Фаран.
1The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
2И сказал Господь Моисею, говоря:
2“Send men, that they may spy out the land of Canaan, which I give to the children of Israel. Of every tribe of their fathers, you shall send a man, every one a prince among them.”
3пошли от себя людей, чтобы они высмотрели землю Ханаанскую, которую Я даю сынам Израилевым; по одному человеку от колена отцов их пошлите, главных из них.
3Moses sent them from the wilderness of Paran according to the commandment of the LORD. All of them were men who were heads of the children of Israel.
4И послал их Моисей из пустыни Фаран, по повелению Господню, и все они мужи главные у сынов Израилевых.
4These were their names: Of the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the son of Zaccur.
5Вот имена их: из колена Рувимова Саммуа, сын Закхуров,
5Of the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat the son of Hori.
6из колена Симеонова Сафат, сын Хориев,
6Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh.
7из колена Иудина Халев, сын Иефонниин,
7Of the tribe of Issachar, Igal the son of Joseph.
8из колена Иссахарова Игал, сын Иосифов,
8Of the tribe of Ephraim, Hoshea the son of Nun.
9из колена Ефремова Осия, сын Навин,
9Of the tribe of Benjamin, Palti the son of Raphu.
10из колена Вениаминова Фалтий, сын Рафуев,
10Of the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel the son of Sodi.
11из колена Завулонова Гаддиил, сын Содиев,
11Of the tribe of Joseph, of the tribe of Manasseh, Gaddi the son of Susi.
12из колена Иосифова от Манассии Гаддий, сын Сусиев,
12Of the tribe of Dan, Ammiel the son of Gemalli.
13из колена Данова Аммиил, сын Гемаллиев,
13Of the tribe of Asher, Sethur the son of Michael.
14из колена Асирова Сефур, сын Михаилев,
14Of the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi the son of Vophsi.
15из колена Неффалимова Нахбий, сын Вофсиев,
15Of the tribe of Gad, Geuel the son of Machi.
16из колена Гадова Геуил, сын Махиев.
16These are the names of the men who Moses sent to spy out the land. Moses called Hoshea the son of Nun Joshua.
17Вот имена мужей, которых посылал Моисей высмотреть землю. И назвал Моисей Осию, сына Навина, Иисусом.
17Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said to them, “Go up this way by the South, and go up into the hill country.
18И послал их Моисей из пустыни Фаран высмотреть землю Ханаанскую и сказал им: пойдите в эту южную страну, и взойдите на гору,
18See the land, what it is; and the people who dwell therein, whether they are strong or weak, whether they are few or many;
19и осмотрите землю, какова она, и народ живущий на ней, силен ли он или слаб, малочислен ли он или многочислен?
19and what the land is that they dwell in, whether it is good or bad; and what cities they are that they dwell in, whether in camps, or in strongholds;
20и какова земля, на которой он живет, хороша ли она или худа? и каковы города, в которых он живет, в шатрах ли он живет или в укреплениях?
20and what the land is, whether it is fertile or poor, whether there is wood therein, or not. Be courageous, and bring some of the fruit of the land.” Now the time was the time of the first-ripe grapes.
21и какова земля, тучна ли она или тоща? есть ли на ней дерева или нет? будьте смелы, и возьмите от плодов земли. Было же это ко времени созревания винограда.
21So they went up, and spied out the land from the wilderness of Zin to Rehob, to the entrance of Hamath.
22Они пошли и высмотрели землю от пустыни Син даже до Рехова, близ Емафа;
22They went up by the South, and came to Hebron; and Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were there. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)
23и пошли в южную страну, и дошли до Хеврона, где жили Ахиман, Сесай и Фалмай, дети Енаковы: Хеврон же построен был семью годами прежде Цоана, города Египетского;
23They came to the valley of Eshcol, and cut down from there a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bore it on a staff between two. They also brought some of the pomegranates and figs.
24и пришли к долине Есхол, и осмотрели ее, и срезали там виноградную ветвь с одною кистью ягод, и понесли ее на шесте двое; взяли также гранатовых яблок и смокв;
24That place was called the valley of Eshcol, because of the cluster which the children of Israel cut down from there.
25место сие назвали долиною Есхол, по причине виноградной кисти, которую срезали там сыны Израилевы.
25They returned from spying out the land at the end of forty days.
26И, высмотрев землю, возвратились они через сорок дней.
26They went and came to Moses, to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, to the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word to them and to all the congregation. They showed them the fruit of the land.
27И пошли и пришли к Моисею и Аарону и ко всему обществу сынов Израилевых в пустыню Фаран, в Кадес, и принесли им и всему обществу ответ, и показали им плоды земли;
27They told him, and said, “We came to the land where you sent us. Surely it flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit.
28и рассказывали ему и говорили: мы ходили в землю, в которую ты посылал нас; в ней подлинно течет молоко и мед, и вот плоды ее;
28However, the people who dwell in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large. Moreover, we saw the children of Anak there.
29но народ, живущий на земле той, силен, и города укрепленные, весьма большие, и сынов Енаковых мы видели там;
29Amalek dwells in the land of the South. The Hittite, the Jebusite, and the Amorite dwell in the hill country. The Canaanite dwells by the sea, and along the side of the Jordan.”
30Амалик живет на южной части земли, Хеттеи, Евеи, Иевусеи и Аморреи живут на горе, Хананеи же живут при море и на берегу Иордана.
30Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, “Let’s go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it!”
31Но Халев успокаивал народ пред Моисеем, говоря: пойдем и завладеем ею, потому что мы можем одолеть ее.
31But the men who went up with him said, “We aren’t able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.”
32А те, которые ходили с ним, говорили: не можем мы идти против народа сего, ибо он сильнее нас.
32They brought up an evil report of the land which they had spied out to the children of Israel, saying, “The land, through which we have gone to spy it out, is a land that eats up its inhabitants; and all the people who we saw in it are men of great stature.
33И распускали худую молву о земле, которую они осматривали, между сынами Израилевыми, говоря: земля, которую проходили мы для осмотра, есть земля, поедающая живущих на ней, и весь народ, который видели мы среди ее, люди великорослые;
33There we saw the Nephilim, the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim. We were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.”
34там видели мы и исполинов, сынов Енаковых, от исполинского рода; и мы были в глазах наших пред ними, как саранча, такими же были мы и в глазах их.
