1Então se aproximaram as filhas de Zelofeade, filho de Héfer, filho de Gileade, filho de Maquir, filho de Manassés, das famílias de Manassés, filho de José. Estes são os nomes de suas filhas: Maalá, Noa, Hogla, Milca e Tirza.
1Now the daughters of Zelophehad son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, belonged to the clans of Manasseh son of Joseph. These were the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah. They approached
2Elas se apresentaram diante de Moisés, diante do sacerdote Eleazar, e diante dos líderes e de toda a congregação, à porta da Tenda do Encontro, dizendo:
2the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, stood before Moses, Eleazar the priest, the leaders, and the whole congregation, and said,
3“Nosso pai morreu no deserto. Ele não estava na companhia daqueles que se juntaram contra o SENHOR na companhia de Corá, mas morreu em seu próprio pecado. Ele não teve filhos.
3“Our father died in the wilderness, but he was not among the followers of Korah who gathered together against the LORD. Instead, he died because of his own sin, and he had no sons.
4Por que o nome de nosso pai deveria ser tirado do meio de sua família, por não ter tido um filho? Dê-nos uma propriedade entre os irmãos de nosso pai.”
4Why should the name of our father disappear from his clan because he had no sons? Give us property among our father’s brothers.”
5Moisés levou a causa delas perante o SENHOR.
5So Moses brought their case before the LORD,
6O SENHOR falou a Moisés, dizendo:
6and the LORD answered him,
7“As filhas de Zelofeade falam o que é justo. Você certamente lhes dará uma propriedade como herança entre os irmãos de seu pai. Você fará com que a herança de seu pai passe para elas.
7“The daughters of Zelophehad speak correctly. You certainly must give them property as an inheritance among their father’s brothers, and transfer their father’s inheritance to them.
8Você falará aos filhos de Israel, dizendo: ‘Se um homem morrer e não tiver filho, então vocês farão com que a sua herança passe para a sua filha.
8Furthermore, you shall say to the Israelites, ‘If a man dies and leaves no son, you are to transfer his inheritance to his daughter.
9Se ele não tiver filha, então vocês darão a sua herança aos seus irmãos.
9If he has no daughter, give his inheritance to his brothers.
10Se ele não tiver irmãos, então vocês darão a sua herança aos irmãos de seu pai.
10If he has no brothers, give his inheritance to his father’s brothers.
11Se seu pai não tiver irmãos, então vocês darão a sua herança ao parente mais próximo de sua família, e ele tomará posse dela. Isso será um estatuto e uma ordenança para os filhos de Israel, como o SENHOR ordenou a Moisés.’”
11And if his father has no brothers, give his inheritance to the next of kin from his clan, that he may take possession of it. This is to be a statutory ordinance for the Israelites, as the LORD has commanded Moses.’”
12O SENHOR disse a Moisés: “Suba a este monte de Abarim, e veja a terra que dei aos filhos de Israel.
12Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go up this mountain of the Abarim range and see the land that I have given the Israelites.
13Quando você a tiver visto, você também será reunido ao seu povo, assim como Arão, seu irmão, foi reunido;
13After you have seen it, you too will be gathered to your people, as your brother Aaron was;
14porque na contenda da congregação, você se rebelou contra a minha palavra no deserto de Zim, de me honrar como santo junto às águas diante dos olhos deles.” (Estas são as águas de Meribá de Cades, no deserto de Zim.)
14for when the congregation contended in the Wilderness of Zin, both of you rebelled against My command to show My holiness in their sight regarding the waters.” Those were the waters of Meribah in Kadesh, in the Wilderness of Zin.
15Moisés falou ao SENHOR, dizendo:
15So Moses appealed to the LORD,
16“Que o SENHOR, o Deus dos espíritos de toda a carne, nomeie um homem sobre a congregação,
16“May the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation
17que possa sair adiante deles, e que possa entrar adiante deles, e que possa conduzi-los para fora, e que possa trazê-los para dentro, para que a congregação do SENHOR não seja como ovelhas que não têm pastor.”
17who will go out and come in before them, and who will lead them out and bring them in, so that the congregation of the LORD will not be like sheep without a shepherd.”
18O SENHOR disse a Moisés: “Tome Josué, filho de Num, um homem em quem está o Espírito, e imponha a sua mão sobre ele.
18And the LORD replied to Moses, “Take Joshua son of Nun, a man with the Spirit in him, and lay your hands on him.
19Apresente-o diante do sacerdote Eleazar, e diante de toda a congregação; e comissione-o à vista deles.
19Have him stand before Eleazar the priest and the whole congregation, and commission him in their sight.
20Você lhe dará autoridade, para que toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel obedeça.
20Confer on him some of your authority, so that the whole congregation of Israel will obey him.
21Ele se apresentará diante do sacerdote Eleazar, que consultará por ele pelo julgamento do Urim perante o SENHOR. À sua palavra eles sairão, e à sua palavra eles entrarão, tanto ele como todos os filhos de Israel com ele, sim, toda a congregação.”
21He shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who will seek counsel for him before the LORD by the judgment of the Urim. At his command, he and all the Israelites with him—the entire congregation—will go out and come in.”
22Moisés fez como o SENHOR lhe ordenou. Ele tomou Josué, e o apresentou diante do sacerdote Eleazar e diante de toda a congregação.
22Moses did as the LORD had commanded him. He took Joshua, had him stand before Eleazar the priest and the whole congregation,
23Ele impôs as suas mãos sobre ele e o comissionou, como o SENHOR falou por meio de Moisés.
23and laid his hands on him and commissioned him, as the LORD had instructed through Moses.
