1LEUM GOD El kaskas nu sik ac fahk,
1Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
2“Kom, mwet sukawil moul la, fahkak nu sin mwet lom an ma ac sikyak nga fin oru tuh in oasr mweun nu sin sie facl. Mwet in facl sac ac sulela sie selos in mwet san lalos.
2“Son of man, speak to your people and tell them: ‘Suppose I bring the sword against a land, and the people of that land choose a man from among them, appointing him as their watchman,
3El fin liya lah mwet lokoalok elos tuku, na el ac ukya mwe ukuk in sensenkakin mwet uh.
3and he sees the sword coming against that land and blows the ram’s horn to warn the people.
4Sie mwet fin lohng ac pilesru, ac mwet lokoalok elos tuku ac unilya, mwatan misa lal ma na lal sifacna.
4Then if anyone hears the sound of the horn but fails to heed the warning, and the sword comes and takes him away, his blood will be on his own head.
5Misa lal uh ma el sifacna oru, mweyen el tia lohang nu ke sulkakinyen tuku lun mwet lokoalok ah. El funu lohang nu kac, el lukun ku in kaingla.
5Since he heard the sound of the horn but failed to heed the warning, his blood will be on his own head. If he had heeded the warning, he would have saved his life.
6Tusruktu mwet san sac fin liye ke mwet lokoalok uh tuku ac el tia ukya mwe ukuk, na mwet lokoalok uh ac tuku ac uniya mwet koluk inge, ac mwatan misa lalos ac fah ma lun mwet san sac.
6But if the watchman sees the sword coming and fails to blow the horn to warn the people, and the sword comes and takes away a life, then that one will be taken away in his iniquity, but I will hold the watchman accountable for his blood.’
7“Inge, mwet sukawil, nga ac oru tuh kom in sie mwet san nu sin mutanfahl Israel. Kom enenu in tafwela nu selos kas in sensenkakin ma nga ac sot nu sum.
7As for you, O son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word from My mouth and give them the warning from Me.
8Nga fin fahkak lah sie mwet koluk el ac misa, ac kom tia sensenkakinul elan ku in forla liki orekma koluk lal ac molela moul lal, na el ac misa sie mwet koluk, ac nga ac fah filiya mwatan misa lal uh nu fom.
8If I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you will surely die,’ but you do not speak out to dissuade him from his way, then that wicked man will die in his iniquity, yet I will hold you accountable for his blood.
9Kom fin sensenkakin sie mwet koluk ac el tia tui liki orekma koluk lal, el ac misa ke el srakna sie mwet koluk, a funu kom, kom ac moulna.”
9But if you warn the wicked man to turn from his way, and he does not turn from it, he will die in his iniquity, but you will have saved your life.
10Na LEUM GOD El kaskas nu sik ac fahk, “Mwet sukawil, sifilpa fahk nu sin mwet Israel ma elos fahk inge: ‘Kut toasrna ke ma koluk lasr ac ma sufal ma kut orala uh. Kut munaslana. Kut ac ku in moul fuka?’
10Now as for you, son of man, tell the house of Israel that this is what they have said: ‘Our transgressions and our sins are heavy upon us, and we are wasting away because of them! How can we live?’
11Fahk nu selos lah ke sripen nga LEUM GOD Fulatlana ac nga God moul, nga tia engankin in liye ke sie mwet koluk el misa. Nga kena liye elan tui liki orekma koluk lal, tuh elan moul. Mwet Israel, tui liki orekma koluk lowos an. Efu ku kowos lungse misa?
11Say to them: ‘As surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked should turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?’
12“Inge, mwet sukawil, fahk nu sin mwet Israel lah sie mwet wo el fin oru ma koluk, ma wo ma el orala tari tia ku in molella. Sie mwet koluk el fin tui liki orekma koluk lal, el ac fah tia kalyeiyuk, ac sie mwet wo fin mutawauk in orekma koluk, moul lal uh ac fah tia sekoeyuk.
12Therefore, son of man, say to your people: ‘The righteousness of the righteous man will not deliver him in the day of his transgression; neither will the wickedness of the wicked man cause him to stumble on the day he turns from his wickedness. Nor will the righteous man be able to survive by his righteousness on the day he sins.’
13Nga fin wulela nu sin sie mwet wo mu el ac moul, tusruktu el fin nunku mu ma wo el orala meet ah ku in molella ac el mutawauk in orekma koluk, nga ac tia esam kutena ma wo ma el orala meet. El ac misa ke sripen orekma koluk lal.
13If I tell the righteous man that he will surely live, but he then trusts in his righteousness and commits iniquity, then none of his righteous works will be remembered; he will die because of the iniquity he has committed.
14Nga ku pac in sensenkakin sie mwet koluk lah el ac misa, tusruktu el fin tui liki orekma koluk lal, ac oru ma wo ac suwohs —
14But if I tell the wicked man, ‘You will surely die,’ and he turns from his sin and does what is just and right—
15if he restores a pledge, makes restitution for what he has stolen, and walks in the statutes of life without practicing iniquity—then he will surely live; he will not die.
16Nga ac fah nunak munas ke ma koluk nukewa el tuh orala, na el ac fah moul mweyen el oru ma wo ac suwohs.
16None of the sins he has committed will be held against him. He has done what is just and right; he will surely live.
17“Mwet lom ingan fahk mu ma nga oru uh tia suwohs! Mo — ma elos oru uh pa tia suwohs uh.
17Yet your people say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ But it is their way that is not just.
18Sie mwet wo fin tui liki orekma wo lal ac mutawauk in orekma koluk, el ac fah misa kac.
18If a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, he will die for it.
19Sie mwet koluk fin tui liki orekma koluk, ac oru ma suwohs ac wo, el fah moul.
19But if a wicked man turns from his wickedness and does what is just and right, he will live because of this.
20A mwet Israel, kowos fahk mu ma nga oru uh tia suwohs. Nga ac fah nununkekowos fal nu ke ma kowos oru uh.”
20Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ But I will judge each of you according to his ways, O house of Israel.”
21In len aklimekosr in malem aksingoul ke yac aksingoul luo in sruoh lasr, sie mukul su kaingla liki acn Jerusalem el tuku fahk nu sik lah siti sac musalla.
21In the twelfth year of our exile, on the fifth day of the tenth month, a fugitive from Jerusalem came to me and reported, “The city has been taken!”
22In eku se meet liki el tuku ah, nga pulakin ku lun LEUM GOD oan fuk. Na ke mukul sac tuku ke lotu se tok ah, LEUM GOD El sifilpa folokunma ku nu sik tuh ngan ku in kaskas.
22Now the evening before the fugitive arrived, the hand of the LORD was upon me, and He opened my mouth before the man came to me in the morning. So my mouth was opened and I was no longer mute.
23LEUM GOD El kaskas nu sik
23Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
24ac fahk, “Mwet sukawil, mwet su muta in siti musalla lun Israel elos fahk mu: ‘Abraham el mwet sefanna, ac facl se inge nufon itukyang nu sel. Inge kut arulana pus, ouinge acn uh ituku in ma lac lasr.’
24“Son of man, those living in the ruins in the land of Israel are saying, ‘Abraham was only one man, yet he possessed the land. But we are many; surely the land has been given to us as a possession.’
25“Fahk nu selos ma nga, LEUM GOD Fulatlana, fahk inge: Kowos kang ikwa ma srakna oasr srah kac. Kowos alu nu ke ma sruloala. Kowos akmas. Efu ku kowos nunku mu acn uh ma lowos?
25Therefore tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘You eat meat with the blood in it, lift up your eyes to your idols, and shed blood. Should you then possess the land?
26Kowos filiya lulalfongi lowos ke cutlass nutuwos. Kowos oru mwe srungayuk. Mwet nukewa orek kosro. Efu ku kowos nunku mu acn uh ma lowos?
26You have relied on your swords, you have committed detestable acts, and each of you has defiled his neighbor’s wife. Should you then possess the land?’
27“Fahkang nu selos lah nga, LEUM GOD Fulatlana, fahk mu ke sripen nga pa God moul, mwet su muta in siti musalla uh ac fah anwuki ke mweun. Elos su muta inima uh ac fah mongola sin kosro lemnak. Ac elos su wikwik fineol uh ac in luf uh ac fah misa ke mas upa.
27Tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘As surely as I live, those in the ruins will fall by the sword, those in the open field I will give to be devoured by wild animals, and those in the strongholds and caves will die by plague.
28Nga fah sukela facl selos in mwesisla, ac ku se su elos arulana inse fulat kac ac fah safla. Finne eol in facl Israel, ac fah wanginla ma oan fac, oru wangin mwet ku in fahla we.
28I will make the land a desolate waste, and the pride of her strength will come to an end. The mountains of Israel will become desolate, so that no one will pass through.
29Ke pacl se nga ac kalyei mwet uh ke ma koluk lalos ac oru facl selos in sie acn sikiyukla, na elos ac fah etu lah nga pa LEUM GOD .”
29Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I have made the land a desolate waste because of all the abominations they have committed.’
30LEUM GOD El fahk, “Mwet sukawil, mwet lom uh kaskas keim ke pacl elos ac osun sisken pot lun siti uh, ku ke mutunoa in lohm selos. Elos fahk nu sin sie sin sie, ‘Kut som lohng lah kas fuka tuku sin LEUM GOD me.’
30As for you, son of man, your people are talking about you near the city walls and in the doorways of their houses. One speaks to another, each saying to his brother, ‘Come and hear the message that has come from the LORD!’
31Na mwet luk elos ac fahsreni in lohng lah mea kom ac fahk, tusruktu elos tia oru ma kom fahk elos in oru uh. Elos fahk kas na wowo, a elos sikalani in oru rapku lalos.
31So My people come to you as usual, sit before you, and hear your words; but they do not put them into practice. Although they express love with their mouths, their hearts pursue dishonest gain.
32Elos oru mu kom sie mwet onkakin on in lungse, mwe na akpwaryalos — wo pusrem ac kom sumat in srital ke harp. Elos lohng kas nukewa kom fahk, a tiana akos siefanna.
32Indeed, you are to them like a singer of love songs with a beautiful voice, who skillfully plays an instrument. They hear your words but do not put them into practice.
33Tusruktu, pacl se kas lom uh ac akpwayeyeyuk — aok, ac akpwayeyeyuk — na elos ac fah etu lah oasr sie mwet palu inmasrlolos.”
33So when it comes to pass—and surely it will come—then they will know that a prophet has been among them.”
