Old Persian Version (ترجمه قدیم)

1But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

1اما تو سخنان شایسته تعلیم صحیح را بگو:

2That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.

2که مردان پیر، هشیار و باوقار وخرداندیش و در ایمان و محبت و صبر، صحیح باشند.

3The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

3همچنین زنان پیر، در سیرت متقی باشند و نه غیبت‌گو و نه بنده شراب زیاده بلکه معلمات تعلیم نیکو،

4That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

4تا زنان جوان را خرد بیاموزند که شوهردوست و فرزنددوست باشند،

5To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

5وخرداندیش و عفیفه و خانه نشین و نیکو و مطیع شوهران خود که مبادا کلام خدا متهم شود.

6Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.

6و به همین نسق جوانان را نصیحت فرما تا خرداندیش باشند.

7In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,

7و خود را در همه‌چیز نمونه اعمال نیکو بسازو در تعلیم خود صفا و وقار و اخلاص را بکار بر،

8Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

8و کلام صحیح بی‌عیب را تا دشمن چونکه فرصت بد‌گفتن در حق ما نیابد، خجل شود.

9Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things ; not answering again;

9غلامان را نصیحت نما که آقایان خود رااطاعت کنند و در هر امر ایشان را راضی سازند ونقیض گو نباشند؛

10Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

10و دزدی نکنند بلکه کمال دیانت را ظاهر سازند تا تعلیم نجات‌دهنده ما خدارا در هر چیز زینت دهند.

11For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

11زیرا که فیض خدا که برای همه مردم نجات‌بخش است، ظاهر شده،

12Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

12ما را تادیب می‌کند که بی‌دینی و شهوات دنیوی را ترک کرده، با خرداندیشی و عدالت و دینداری در این جهان زیست کنیم.

13Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

13و آن امید مبارک و تجلی جلال خدای عظیم و نجات‌دهنده خود ما عیسی مسیح را انتظار کشیم،

14Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

14که خود را در راه ما فدا ساخت تا ما را از هر ناراستی برهاند و امتی برای خودطاهر سازد که ملک خاص او و غیور در اعمال نیکو باشند.

15These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

15این را بگو و نصیحت فرما و درکمال اقتدار توبیخ نما و هیچ‌کس تو را حقیرنشمارد.
