1POI fu tratta la sorte per li figliuoli di Giuseppe, e la lor parte scadde loro dal Giordano di Gerico, presso delle acque di Gerico, verso il Levante, traendo verso il deserto che sale da Gerico per li monti di Betel.
1And the lot of the sons of Joseph fell from the Jordan over against Jericho and the waters thereof, on the east: the wilderness which goeth up from Jericho to the mountain of Bethel:
2E questo confine si stendeva da Betel verso Luz; poi passava lungo i confini degli Archei, fino ad Atarot;
2And goeth out from Bethel to Luza: and passeth the border of Archi, to Ataroth,
3poi scendeva verso Occidente, a' confini de' Giafletei, fino a' confini di Bet-horon disotto, e fino a Ghezer; e faceva capo al mare.
3And goeth down westward, by the border of Jephleti, unto the borders of Beth-horon the nether, and to Gazer: and the countries of it are ended by the great sea:
4Così i figliuoli di Giuseppe, Manasse, ed Efraim, ebbero la loro eredità.
4And Manasses and Ephraim the children of Joseph possessed it.
5Or il confine de' figliuoli di Efraim, distinti per le lor nazioni; il confine, dico , della loro eredità, dall'Oriente, fu Atrot-addar, fino a Bet-horon disopra.
5And the border of the children of Ephraim was according to their kindreds: and their possession towards the east was Ataroth-addar unto Beth-horon the upper.
6E questo confine si stendeva dal Settentrione verso l'Occidente, fino a Micmetat; e dall'Oriente si volgeva verso Taanat-Silo, e da quel luogo passava dall'Oriente fino a Ianoa.
6And the confines go out unto the sea: but Machmethath looketh to the north, and it goeth round the borders eastward into Thanath-selo: and passeth along on the east side to Janoe.
7Poi scendeva da Ianoa in Atarot, e Naarat, e s'incontrava in Gerico, e faceva capo al Giordano.
7And it goeth down from Janoe into Ataroth and Naaratha: and it cometh to Jericho, and goeth out to the Jordan.
8Questo confine andava da Tappua verso Occidente, fino alla valle delle canne, e faceva capo al mare. Questa fu l'eredità della tribù de' figliuoli di Efraim, secondo le lor nazioni.
8From Taphua it passeth on towards the sea into the valley of reeds, and the goings out thereof are at the most salt sea. This is the possession of the tribe of the children of Ephraim by their families.
9Oltre alle città che furon messe da parte per li figliuoli di Efraim per mezzo l'eredità de' figliuoli di Manasse; tutte queste città, dico , con le lor villate.
9And there were cities with their villages separated for the children of Ephraim in the midst of the possession of the children of Manasses.
10Or essi non iscacciarono i Cananei che abitavano in Ghezer: laonde que' Cananei son dimorati per mezzo Efraim infino a questo giorno, e sono stati fatti tributari.
10And the children of Ephraim slew not the Chanaanite, who dwelt in Gazer: and the Chanaanite dwelt in the midst of Ephraim until this day, paying tribute.
