1Jordan aka kat namtom boeih loh a soep la a om van vaeng daengah Joshua te BOEIPA loh a voek tih,
1When the whole nation had finished crossing the Jordan, the LORD said to Joshua,
2“Pilnam lamkah te namamih ham hlang hlai nit tuek laeh. Koca khat lamloh hlang pakhat, hlang pakhat saeh.
2“Choose twelve men from among the people, one from each tribe,
3Te phoeiah amih te uen lamtah thui pah. Jordan tuilung, rhaltawt hmuen kah khosoih kho a pai nah lungto hlai nit he namamih ham phuei uh. Te te namamih taengah kat puei lamtah khoyin kah na rhaeh nah rhaehim ah khueh uh,” a ti nah.
3and command them: ‘Take up for yourselves twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan where the priests were standing, carry them with you, and set them down in the place where you spend the night.’”
4Te dongah Joshua loh hlang hlai nit te a khue. Te te koca pakhat lamkah hlang pakhat, hlang pakhat te Israel ca khui lamloh a hmoel.
4So Joshua summoned the twelve men he had appointed from the Israelites, one from each tribe,
5Te phoeiah amih te Joshua loh, “BOEIPA na Pathen kah thingkawng hmai ah Jordan tuilung la kat uh lamtah Israel ca rhoek kah koca aka om tarhing loh a laengpang dongah lungto pakhat pakhat rhip kawt uh.
5and said to them, “Cross over before the ark of the LORD your God into the middle of the Jordan. Each of you is to take a stone upon his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of Israel,
6Te daengah ni miknoek he nangmih khui ah a om eh. Thangvuen ah na ca rhoek loh nangmih te n'dawt tih, 'Hekah lungto he bahamlae,’ a ti ni.
6to serve as a sign among you. In the future, when your children ask, ‘What do these stones mean to you?’
7Te vaengah amih taengah, “Jordan lan ham vaengah BOEIPA paipi thingkawng hmai ah Jordan tui kak coeng. Jordan tui a kak coeng dongah hekah he Israel ca rhoek taengah poekkoepnah lungto la kumhal duela om saeh ti nah,” a ti nah.
7you are to tell them, ‘The waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD. When it crossed the Jordan, the waters were cut off.’ Therefore these stones will be a memorial to the Israelites forever.”
8Te dongah Joshua loh a uen vanbangla Israel ca rhoek loh a saii uh. BOEIPA loh Joshua taengkah a thui bangla Jordan tuilung lamkah lungto hlai nit te Israel ca rhoek kah koca tarhing la a koh uh tih rhaehim te a paan puei phoeiah a khueh uh.
8Thus the Israelites did as Joshua had commanded them. They took up twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan, one for each tribe of Israel, just as the LORD had told Joshua; and they carried them to the camp, where they set them down.
9Te dongah paipi thingkawng aka kawt khosoih kho kah rhaltawt hmuen, Jordan tuilung ah Joshua loh lungto hlai nit a ling tih tihnin due om pueng.
9Joshua also set up twelve stones in the middle of the Jordan, in the place where the priests who carried the ark of the covenant stood. And the stones are there to this day.
10Pilnam taengah Joshua loh thui hamla BOEIPA loh a uen hno te Joshua taengah Moses loh boeih a uen vanbangla boeih a coeng due thingkawng aka kawt khosoih rhoek khaw Jordan tuilung ah pai uh. Te vaengah pilnam long khaw baang kat uh van.
10Now the priests who carried the ark remained standing in the middle of the Jordan until the people had completed everything the LORD had commanded Joshua to tell them, just as Moses had directed Joshua. The people hurried across,
11Aka kat ham koi pilnam loh boeih a soep van neh BOEIPA thingkawng neh khosoih rhoek khaw pilnam kah mikhmuh ah kat phai van.
11and after everyone had finished crossing, the priests with the ark of the LORD crossed in the sight of the people.
12Reuben koca rhoek, Gad koca rhoek neh Manasseh koca hlangvang te tah Moses kah a thui bangla Israel ca rhoek kah a mikhmuh ah caem la cet uh.
12The Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh crossed over before the Israelites, armed for battle as Moses had instructed them.
13Jerikho kolken ah caemtloek ham thawng sawmli tluk loh BOEIPA mikhmuh ah pumcum uh tih caempuei la khoong uh.
13About 40,000 troops armed for battle crossed over before the LORD into the plains of Jericho.
14Te khohnin ah BOEIPA loh Joshua te Israel pum kah mikhmuh ah a pomsang tih a hing tue khuiah Moses a rhih uh bangla anih khaw a rhih uh.
14On that day the LORD exalted Joshua in the sight of all Israel, and they revered him all the days of his life, just as they had revered Moses.
15Te phoeiah BOEIPA loh Joshua te a voek tih,
15Then the LORD said to Joshua,
16“Olphong thingkawng aka kawt khosoih rhoek te uen lamtah Jordan lamkah ha luei uh saeh,” a ti nah.
16“Command the priests who carry the ark of the Testimony to come up from the Jordan.”
17Te dongah Joshua loh khosoih rhoek te a uen tih, “Jordan lamloh ha luei uh laeh,” a ti nah.
17So Joshua commanded the priests, “Come up from the Jordan.”
18When the priests carrying the ark of the covenant of the LORD came up out of the Jordan and their feet touched the dry land, the waters of the Jordan returned to their course and overflowed all the banks as before.
19Te dongah pilnam loh Jordan lamkah ha luei uh tih a hla khat dongkah a hnin rha vaengah tah Jerikho khocuk rhi kah Gilgal ah rhaeh uh.
19On the tenth day of the first month the people went up from the Jordan and camped at Gilgal on the eastern border of Jericho.
20Te vaengah Jordan lamkah a khuen uh lungto hlai nit te Joshua loh Gilgal ah a ling.
20And there at Gilgal Joshua set up the twelve stones they had taken from the Jordan.
21Israel ca rhoek te khaw a voek tih, “Thangvuen ah na ca rhoek loh a napa rhoek te a dawt uh tih, 'Hekah lungto he bahamlae?,” a ti uh vaengah,
21Then Joshua said to the Israelites, “In the future, when your children ask their fathers, ‘What is the meaning of these stones?’
22na ca rhoek te khaw tukkil uh lamtah, “Jordan he Israel loh laiphuei longah a lan ti nah.
22you are to tell them, ‘Israel crossed the Jordan on dry ground.’
23Na Pathen BOEIPA loh carhaek tuipuei kah a saii bangla na poeng hil na mikhmuh kah Jordan tui te na Pathen BOEIPA loh a kak sak. Te te mamih loh m'poeng hil mamih mikhmuh ah a rhae sak.
23For the LORD your God dried up the waters of the Jordan before you until you had crossed over, just as He did to the Red Sea, which He dried up before us until we had crossed over.
24BOEIPA kah tlungluen kut te diklai pilnam rhoek loh boeih ming uh kangna saeh. Te daengah ni na hing tue khui boeih ah BOEIPA na Pathen te na rhih eh?,” a ti nah.
24He did this so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of the LORD is mighty, and so that you may always fear the LORD your God.”
