1Voici les classes des fils d’Aaron. Fils d’Aaron: Nadab, Abihu, Éléazar et Ithamar.
1These were the divisions of the sons of Aaron. The sons of Aaron: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
2Nadab et Abihu moururent avant leur père, sans avoir de fils; et Éléazar et Ithamar remplirent les fonctions du sacerdoce.
2But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children; therefore Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests.
3David divisa les fils d’Aaron en les classant pour le service qu’ils avaient à faire; Tsadok appartenait aux descendants d’Éléazar, et Achimélec aux descendants d’Ithamar.
3David, with Zadok of the sons of Eleazar and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, divided them according to their ordering in their service.
4Il se trouva parmi les fils d’Éléazar plus de chefs que parmi les fils d’Ithamar, et on en fit la division; les fils d’Éléazar avaient seize chefs de maisons paternelles, et les fils d’Ithamar huit chefs de maisons paternelles.
4There were more chief men found of the sons of Eleazar than of the sons of Ithamar; and they were divided like this: of the sons of Eleazar there were sixteen, heads of fathers’ houses; and of the sons of Ithamar, according to their fathers’ houses, eight.
5On les classa par le sort, les uns avec les autres, car les chefs du sanctuaire et les chefs de Dieu étaient des fils d’Éléazar et des fils d’Ithamar.
5Thus they were divided impartially by drawing lots; for there were princes of the sanctuary and princes of God, both of the sons of Eleazar, and of the sons of Ithamar.
6Schemaeja, fils de Nethaneel, le secrétaire, de la tribu de Lévi, les inscrivit devant le roi et les princes, devant Tsadok, le sacrificateur, et Achimélec, fils d’Abiathar, et devant les chefs des maisons paternelles des sacrificateurs et des Lévites. On tira au sort une maison paternelle pour Éléazar, et on en tira une autre pour Ithamar.
6Shemaiah the son of Nethanel the scribe, who was of the Levites, wrote them in the presence of the king, the princes, Zadok the priest, Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and the heads of the fathers’ households of the priests and of the Levites; one fathers’ house being taken for Eleazar, and one taken for Ithamar.

16the nineteenth to Pethahiah, the twentieth to Jehezkel,
17le vingt et unième, à Jakin; le vingt-deuxième, à Gamul;
17the twenty-first to Jachin, the twenty-second to Gamul,
18le vingt-troisième, à Delaja; le vingt-quatrième, à Maazia.
18the twenty-third to Delaiah, and the twenty-fourth to Maaziah.
19C’est ainsi qu’ils furent classés pour leur service, afin qu’ils entrassent dans la maison de l’Éternel en se conformant à la règle établie par Aaron, leur père, d’après les ordres que lui avait donnés l’Éternel, le Dieu d’Israël.
19This was their ordering in their service, to come into the LORD’s house according to the ordinance given to them by Aaron their father, as the LORD, the God of Israel, had commanded him.
20Voici les chefs du reste des Lévites. Des fils d’Amram: Schubaël; des fils de Schubaël: Jechdia;
20Of the rest of the sons of Levi: of the sons of Amram, Shubael; of the sons of Shubael, Jehdeiah.
21de Rechabia, des fils de Rechabia: le chef Jischija.
21Of Rehabiah: of the sons of Rehabiah, Isshiah the chief.
22Des Jitseharites: Schelomoth; des fils de Schelomoth: Jachath.
22Of the Izharites, Shelomoth; of the sons of Shelomoth, Jahath.
23Fils d’Hébron: Jerija, Amaria le second, Jachaziel le troisième, Jekameam le quatrième.
23The sons of Hebron: Jeriah, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
24Fils d’Uziel: Michée; des fils de Michée: Schamir;
24The sons of Uzziel: Micah; of the sons of Micah, Shamir.
25frère de Michée: Jischija; des fils de Jischija: Zacharie.
25The brother of Micah: Isshiah; of the sons of Isshiah, Zechariah.
26Fils de Merari: Machli et Muschi, et les fils de Jaazija, son fils.
26The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The son of Jaaziah: Beno.
27Fils de Merari, de Jaazija, son fils: Schoham, Zaccur et Ibri.
27The sons of Merari by Jaaziah: Beno, Shoham, Zaccur, and Ibri.
28De Machli: Éléazar, qui n’eut point de fils;
28Of Mahli: Eleazar, who had no sons.
29de Kis, les fils de Kis: Jerachmeel.
29Of Kish, the son of Kish: Jerahmeel.
30Fils de Muschi: Machli, Éder et Jerimoth. Ce sont là les fils de Lévi, selon leurs maisons paternelles.
30The sons of Mushi: Mahli, Eder, and Jerimoth. These were the sons of the Levites after their fathers’ houses.
31Eux aussi, comme leurs frères, les fils d’Aaron, ils tirèrent au sort devant le roi David, Tsadok et Achimélec, et les chefs des maisons paternelles des sacrificateurs et des Lévites. Il en fut ainsi pour chaque chef de maison comme pour le moindre de ses frères.
31These likewise cast lots even as their brothers the sons of Aaron in the presence of David the king, Zadok, Ahimelech, and the heads of the fathers’ households of the priests and of the Levites, the fathers’ households of the chief even as those of his younger brother.
