1Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, and to the fading flower the glory of his joy, who were on the head of the fat valley, staggering with wine.
1Ve al la fiera krono de la ebriuloj de Efraim! ilia bela majesto estas velkinta floro; sur la supro de grasa kampo ili estas senkonsciigitaj de vino.
2Behold the Lord is mighty and strong, as a storm of hail: a destroying whirlwind, as the violence of many waters overflowing, and sent forth upon a spacious land.
2Jen la Sinjoro havas fortulon kaj potenculon; kiel hajla pluvego, kiel pereiga ventego, kiel inundo de forta disverŝiĝinta akvo, li potence ĵetos ilin sur la teron.
3The crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim shall be trodden under feet.
3Per piedoj estos premata la fiera krono de la ebriuloj de Efraim.
4And the fading flower the glory of his joy, who is on the head of the fat valley, shall be as a hasty fruit before the ripeness of autumn: which when he that seeth it shall behold, as soon as he taketh it in his hand, he will eat it up.
4Kaj ilia bela majesto fariĝos velkinta floro sur la supro de grasa kampo, kiel figo antaŭ la somero; kiam la vidanto ĝin ekvidas, li, apenaŭ preninte ĝin en la manon, tuj ĝin englutas.
5In that day the Lord of hosts shall be a crown of glory, and a garland of joy to the residue of his people:
5En tiu tago la Eternulo Cebaot estos majesta krono kaj bela diademo por la restaĵo de Sia popolo,
6And a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and strength to them that return out of the battle to the gate.
6kaj spirito de justeco por la sidantoj en la juĝejo, kaj forto por tiuj, kiuj rebatas la batalon al la pordego.
7But these also have been ignorant through wine, and through drunkenness have erred: the priest and the prophet have been ignorant through drunkenness, they are swallowed up with wine, they have gone astray in drunkenness, they have not known him that seeth, they have been ignorant of judgment.
7Sed ankaŭ ĉi tiuj ŝanceliĝas de vino kaj balanciĝas de drinkaĵo; pastro kaj profeto ŝanceliĝas de drinkaĵo, senkonsciiĝas de vino, vagas pro drinkaĵo, eraras en la vidado, falpuŝiĝas ĉe la juĝa verdikto.
8For all tables were full of vomit and filth, so that there was no more place.
8Ĉar ĉiuj tabloj estas plenaj de vomaĵo kaj malpuraĵo, mankas jam loko.
9Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand the hearing? them that are weaned from the milk, that are drawn away from the breasts.
9Al kiu li instruas scion, kaj al kiu li aŭdigas predikon? ĉu al forprenitaj for de lakto, al demamigitoj?
10For command, command again; command, command again; expect, expect again; expect, expect again: a little there, a little there.
10Ĉar ordono post ordono, ordono post ordono; regulo post regulo, regulo post regulo; iom tie, iom ĉi tie.
11For with the speech of lips, and with another tongue he will speak to this people.
11Per balbutantaj lipoj kaj per lingvo fremda Li parolos al ili,
12To whom he said: This is my rest, refresh the weary, and this is my refreshing: and they would not hear.
12Tiu, kiu diris al ili: Jen estas ripozejo, lasu la laculon ripozi; kaj jen estas trankviligo; sed ili ne volis aŭskulti.
13And the word of the Lord shall be to them: Command, command again; command, command again: expect, expect again; expect, expect again: a little there, a little there: that they may go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
13Kaj aperos al ili la vorto de la Eternulo, ordono post ordono, ordono post ordono, regulo post regulo, regulo post regulo, iom tie, iom ĉi tie; por ke ili iru kaj falu dorsen kaj rompiĝu kaj enretiĝu kaj kaptiĝu.
14Wherefore hear the word of the Lord, ye scornful men, who rule over my people that is in Jerusalem.
14Tial aŭskultu la vorton de la Eternulo, vi, mokistoj, regantoj de tiu popolo, kiu estas en Jerusalem.
15For you have said: We have entered into a league with death, and we have made a covenant with hell. When the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come upon us: for we have placed our hope in lies, and by falsehood we are protected.
15Ĉar vi diras: Ni faris interligon kun la morto, kaj kun Ŝeol ni faris interkonsenton; kiam la frapanta vipo estos trapasanta, ĝi nin ne atingos, ĉar mensogon ni faris nia rifuĝejo kaj per malvero ni nin kovros.
16Therefore thus saith the Lord God: Behold I will lay a stone in the foundations of Sion, a tried stone, a corner stone, a precious stone, founded in the foundation. He that believeth, let him not hasten.
16Pro tio tiele diris la Sinjoro, la Eternulo: Jen Mi por fundamento kuŝigas ŝtonon en Cion, ŝtonon elprovitan, bazangulan, valoregan, fortikigitan fundamenton; la fidanto ne maltrankviliĝu.
17And I will set judgment in weight, and justice in measure: and hail shall overturn the hope of falsehood: and waters shall overflow its protection.
17Kaj Mi faros justecon la mezurŝnuro, kaj veron la vertikalo; kaj hajlo forbatos la rifuĝejon de mensogo, kaj la kaŝejon forportos akvo.
18And Sour league with death shall be abolished, and your covenant with hell shall not stand: when the overflowing scourge shall pass, you shall be trodden down by it.
18Kaj forigita estos via interligo kun la morto, kaj via interkonsento kun Ŝeol ne teniĝos; kiam la frapanta vipo estos trapasanta, vi estos frakasata de ĝi.
19Whensoever it shall pass through, it shall take you away: because in the morning early it shall pass through, in the day and in the night, and vexation alone shall make you understand what you hear.
19Ĉiufoje, kiam ĝi trairos, ĝi kaptos vin; ĉar ĉiutage ĝi trairos, tage kaj nokte, kaj terura estos la klarigo, kiun ĝi donos.
20For the bed is straitened, so that one must fall out, and a short covering cannot cover both.
20Ĉar tro mallonga estos la lito, por sin etendi; kaj la litkovrilo estos tro mallarĝa, por sin enkovri.
21For the Lord shall stand up as in the mountain of divisions: he shall be angry as in the valley which is in Gabaon: that he may do his work, his strange work: that he may perform his work, his work is strange to him.
21Ĉar la Eternulo leviĝos, kiel sur la monto Peracim, Li koleros, kiel en la valo Gibeona, por plenumi Sian faron, Sian eksterordinaran faron, kaj fari Sian laboron, Sian eksterordinaran laboron.
22And now do not mock, lest your bonds be tied strait. For I have heard of the Lord the God of hosts a consumption and a cutting short upon all the earth.
22Kaj nun ne moku, por ke viaj katenoj ne plifortiĝu; ĉar mi aŭdis, ke de la Sinjoro, la Eternulo Cebaot, tio estas neŝanĝeble decidita pri la tuta lando.
23Give ear, and hear my voice, hearken, and hear my speech.
23Atentu, kaj aŭskultu mian voĉon; konsideru, kaj aŭskultu mian parolon.
24Shall the ploughman plough all the day to sow, shall he open and harrow his ground?
24Ĉu ĉiutage la plugisto plugas por semado, sulkaranĝas kaj erpas sian kampon?
25Will he not, when he hath made plain the surface thereof, sow gith, and scatter cummin, and put wheat in order, and barley, and millet, and vetches in their bounds?
25Kiam li ebenigis ĝian supraĵon, li disŝutas ja nigelon kaj disĵetas kuminon kaj metas tritikon laŭ vicoj kaj hordeon en la difinitan lokon kaj spelton ĉe la limoj.
26For he will instruct him in judgment: his God will teach him.
26Tian ordon lernigis al li lia Dio, Li instruis lin.
27For gith shall not be thrashed with saws, neither shall the cart wheel turn about upon cummin: but gith shall be beaten out with a rod, and cummin with a staff.
27Ĉar ne per fera draŝilo oni draŝas nigelon, kaj oni ne rulas radon de ĉaro sur kumino; sed per bastono oni elbatas nigelon, kaj kuminon per vergo.
28But bread corn shall be broken small: but the thrasher shall not thrash it for ever, neither shall the cart wheel hurt it, nor break it with its teeth.
28Greno estas draŝata; sed ne eterne oni ĝin draŝas; oni frapas ĝin per la rado de sia ĉaro, sed per siaj ĉevaloj oni ĝin ne dispremas.
29This also is come forth from the Lord God of hosts, to make his counsel wonderful, and magnify justice.
29Ankaŭ ĉi tio venas de la Eternulo Cebaot; mirinda estas Lia decido, granda estas Lia saĝeco.
