1Now the sons of Ruben the firstborn of Israel, (for he was his firstborn: but forasmuch as he defiled his father’s bed, his first birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel, and he was not accounted for the firstborn.
1Die Kinder Rubens, des ersten Sohnes Israels (denn er war der erste Sohn; aber damit, daß er seines Vaters Bett entweihte, war seine Erstgeburt gegeben den Kinder Josephs, des Sohnes Israels, und er ward nicht aufgezeichnet zur Erstgeburt;
2But of the race of Juda, who was the strongest among his brethren, came the princes: but the first birthright was accounted to Joseph.)
2denn Juda, der mächtig war unter seinen Brüdern, dem ward das Fürstentum vor ihm gegeben, und Joseph die Erstgeburt).
3The sons then of Ruben the firstborn of Israel were Enoch, and Phallu, Esron, and Charmi.
3So sind nun die Kinder Rubens, des ersten Sohnes Israels: Henoch, Pallu, Hezron und Charmi.
4The sons of Joel: Samaia his son, Gog his son, Semei his son,
4Die Kinder aber Joels waren: Semaja; des Sohnes war Gog; des Sohnes war Simei;
5Micha his son, Reia his son, Baal his son,
5des Sohn war Micha; des Sohn war Reaja; des Sohn war Baal;
6Beera his son, whom Thelgathphalnasar king of the Assyrians carried away captive, and he was prince in the tribe of Ruben.
6des Sohn war Beera, welchen gefangen wegführte Thilgath-Pilneser, der König von Assyrien; er aber war ein Fürst unter den Rubenitern.
7And his brethren, and all his kindred, when they were numbered by their families, had for princes Jehiel, and Zacharias.
7Aber seine Brüder unter seinen Geschlechtern, da sie nach ihrer Geburt aufgezeichnet wurden, waren: Jeiel, der Oberste, und Sacharja
8And Bala the son of Azaz, the son of Samma, the son of Joel, dwelt in Aroer as far as Nebo, and Beelmeon.
8und Bela, der Sohn des Asas, des Sohnes Semas, des Sohnes Joels; der wohnte zu Aroer und bis gen Nebo und Baal-Meon
9And eastward he had his habitation as far as the entrance of the desert, and the river Euphrates. For they possessed a great number of cattle in the land of Galaad.
9und wohnte gegen Aufgang, bis man kommt an die Wüste am Wasser Euphrat; denn ihres Viehs war viel im Lande Gilead.
10And in the days of Saul they fought against the Agarites, and slew them, and dwelt in their tents in their stead, in all the country, that looketh to the east of Galaad.
10Und zur Zeit Sauls führten sie Krieg wider die Hagariter, daß sie fielen durch ihre Hand, und wohnten in deren Hütten auf der ganzen Morgengrenze von Gilead.
11And the children of Gad dwelt over against them in the land of Basan, as far as Selcha:
11Die Kinder Gads aber wohnten ihnen gegenüber im Lande Basan bis gen Salcha:
12Johel the chief, and Saphan the second: and Janai, and Saphat in Basan.
12Joel, der Vornehmste, und Sapham, der andere, Jaenai und Saphat zu Basan.
13And their brethren according to the houses of their kindreds, were Michael, and Mosollam, and Sebe, and Jorai, and Jacan, and Zie, and Heber, seven.
13Und ihre Brüder nach ihren Vaterhäusern waren: Michael, Mesullam, Seba, Jorai, Jaekan, Sia und Eber, die sieben.
14These were the sons of Abihail, the son of Hurl, the son of Jara, the son of Galaad, the son of Michael, the son of Jesisi, the son of Jeddo, the son of But.
14Dies sind die Kinder Abihails, des Sohnes Huris, des Sohnes Jaroahs, des Sohnes Gileads, des Sohnes Michaels, des Sohnes Jesisais, des Sohnes Jahdos, des Sohnes Bus.
15And their brethren the sons of Abdiel, the son of Guni, chief of the house in their families,
15Ahi, der Sohn Abdiels, des Sohnes Gunis, war ein Oberster in ihren Vaterhäusern,
16And they dwelt in Galaad, and in Basan and in the towns thereof, and in all the suburbs of Saron, unto the borders.
16und sie wohnten zu Gilead in Basan und in seinen Ortschaften und in allen Fluren Sarons bis an ihre Enden.
17All these were numbered in the days of Joathan king of Juda, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.
17Diese wurden alle aufgezeichnet zur Zeit Jothams, des König in Juda, und Jerobeams, des Königs über Israel.
18The sons of Ruben, and of Gad, and of the half tribe of Manasses, fighting men, bearing shields, and swords, and bending the bow, and trained up to battles, four and forty thousand seven hundred and threescore that went out to war.
18Der Kinder Ruben, der Gaditer und des halben Stammes Manasse, was streitbare Männer waren, die Schild und Schwert führen und Bogen spannen konnten und streitkundig waren, deren waren vierundvierzigtausend und siebenhundertundsechzig die ins Heer zogen.
19They fought against the Agarites: but the Itureans, and Naphis, and Nodab,
19Und sie stritten mit den Hagaritern und mit Jetur, Naphis und Nodab;
20Gave them help. And the Agarites were delivered into their hands, and all that were with them, because they called upon God in the battle: and he heard them, because they had put their faith in him.
20und es ward ihnen geholfen wider sie, und die Hagariter wurden gegeben in ihre Hände und alle, die mit ihnen waren. Denn sie schrieen zu Gott im Streit, und er ließ sich erbitten; denn sie vertrauten ihm.
21And they took all that they possessed, of camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of asses two thousand, and of men a hundred thousand souls.
21Und sie führten weg ihr Vieh, fünftausend Kamele, zweihundertfünfzigtausend Schafe, zweitausend Esel, und hunderttausend Menschenseelen.
22And many fell down slain: for it was the battle of the Lord. And they dwelt in their stead till the captivity.
22Denn es fielen viele Verwundete; denn der Streit war von Gott. Und sie wohnten an ihrer Statt bis zur Zeit, da sie gefangen weggeführt wurden.
23And the children of the half tribe of Manasses possessed the land, from the borders of Basan unto Baal, Hermon, and Sanir, and mount Hermon, for their number was great.
23Die Kinder aber des halben Stammes Manasse wohnten im Lande von Basan an bis gen Baal-Hermon und Senir und den Berg Hermon; und ihrer waren viel.
24And these were the heads of the house of their kindred, Epher, and Jesi, and Eliel, and Esriel, and Jeremia, and Odoia, and Jediel, most valiant and powerful men, and famous chiefs in their families.
24Und diese waren die Häupter ihrer Vaterhäuser: Epher, Jesei, Eliel, Asriel, Jeremia, Hodavja, Jahdiel, gewaltige Männer und berühmte Häupter in ihren Vaterhäusern.
25But they forsook the God of their fathers, and went astray after the gods of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before them.
25Und da sie sich an dem Gott ihrer Väter versündigten und abfielen zu den Götzen der Völker im Lande, die Gott vor ihnen vertilgt hatte,
26And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Phul king of the Assyrians, and the spirit of Thelgathphalnasar king of Assur: and he carried away Ruben, and Gad, and the half tribe of Manasses, and brought them to Lahela, and to Habor, and to Ara, and to the river of Gozan, unto this day.
26erweckte der Gott Israels den Geist Phuls, des Königs von Assyrien, und den Geist Thilgath-Pilnesers, des Königs von Assyrien; der führte weg die Rubeniter, Gaditer und den halben Stamm Manasse und brachte sie gen Halah und an den Habor und gen Hara und an das Wasser Gosan bis auf diesen Tag.
