1以色列 人在 迦南 地所得的產業，就是祭司 以利亞撒 和 嫩 的兒子 約書亞 ，並 以色列 各支派的族長所分給他們的，都記在下面，
1These are the inheritances which the children of Israel took in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers’ houses of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed to them,
2是照耶和華藉 摩西 所吩咐的，把產業拈鬮分給九個半支派。
2by the lot of their inheritance, as the LORD commanded by Moses, for the nine tribes, and for the half-tribe.
3原來， 摩西 在 約旦河 東已經把產業分給那兩個半支派，只是在他們中間沒有把產業分給 利未 人。
3For Moses had given the inheritance of the two tribes and the half-tribe beyond the Jordan; but to the Levites he gave no inheritance among them.
4因為 約瑟 的子孫是兩個支派，就是 瑪拿西 和 以法蓮 ，所以沒有把地分給 利未 人，但給他們城邑居住，並城邑的郊野，可以牧養他們的牲畜，安置他們的財物。
4For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim. They gave no portion to the Levites in the land, except cities to dwell in, with their pasture lands for their livestock and for their property.
5耶和華怎樣吩咐 摩西 ， 以色列 人就照樣行，把地分了。
5The children of Israel did as the LORD commanded Moses, and they divided the land.
6那時， 猶大 人來到 吉甲 見 約書亞 ，有 基尼洗 族 耶孚尼 的兒子 迦勒 對 約書亞 說：「耶和華在 加低斯‧巴尼亞 指着我與你對神人 摩西 所說的話，你都知道了。
6Then the children of Judah came near to Joshua in Gilgal. Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, “You know the thing that the LORD spoke to Moses the man of God concerning me and concerning you in Kadesh Barnea.
7耶和華的僕人 摩西 從 加低斯‧巴尼亞 打發我窺探這地，那時我正四十歲；我按着心意回報他。
7I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadesh Barnea to spy out the land. I brought him word again as it was in my heart.
8然而，同我上去的眾弟兄使百姓的心消化；但我專心跟從耶和華－我的上帝。
8Nevertheless, my brothers who went up with me made the heart of the people melt; but I wholly followed the LORD my God.
9當日 摩西 起誓說：『你腳所踏之地定要歸你和你的子孫永遠為業，因為你專心跟從耶和華－我的上帝。』
9Moses swore on that day, saying, ‘Surely the land where you walked shall be an inheritance to you and to your children forever, because you have wholly followed the LORD my God.’
10自從耶和華對 摩西 說這話的時候，耶和華照他所應許的使我存活這四十五年；其間 以色列 人在曠野行走。看哪，現今我八十五歲了，
10“Now, behold, the LORD has kept me alive, as he spoke, these forty-five years, from the time that the LORD spoke this word to Moses, while Israel walked in the wilderness. Now, behold, I am eighty-five years old, today.
11我還是強壯，像 摩西 打發我去的那天一樣；無論是爭戰，是出入，我的力量那時如何，現在還是如何。
11As yet I am as strong today as I was in the day that Moses sent me. As my strength was then, even so is my strength now for war, to go out and to come in.
12求你將耶和華那日應許我的這山地給我；那裏有 亞衲 族人，並寬大堅固的城，你也曾聽見了。或者耶和華照他所應許的與我同在，我就把他們趕出去。」
12Now therefore give me this hill country, of which the LORD spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and great and fortified cities. It may be that the LORD will be with me, and I shall drive them out, as the LORD said.”
13於是 約書亞 為 耶孚尼 的兒子 迦勒 祝福，將 希伯崙 給他為業。
13Joshua blessed him; and he gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for an inheritance.
14所以 希伯崙 作了 基尼洗 族 耶孚尼 的兒子 迦勒 的產業，直到今日，因為他專心跟從耶和華－ 以色列 的上帝。
14Therefore Hebron became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he followed the LORD, the God of Israel wholeheartedly.
15希伯崙 從前名叫 基列‧亞巴 ； 亞巴 是 亞衲 族中最尊大的人。於是國中太平，沒有爭戰了。
15Now the name of Hebron before was Kiriath Arba, after the greatest man among the Anakim. Then the land had rest from war.
