1I mluvil Bůh všecka slova tato, řka:
1And God spoke all these words, saying:
2Já jsem Hospodin Bůh tvůj, kterýž jsem tě vyvedl z země Egyptské, z domu služby.
2I am the LORD thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3Nebudeš míti bohů jiných přede mnou.
3Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.
4Neučiníš sobě rytiny, ani jakého podobenství těch věcí, kteréž jsou na nebi svrchu, ani těch, kteréž na zemi dole, ani těch, kteréž u vodách pod zemí.
4Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image, nor any manner of likeness, of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;
5Nebudeš se jim klaněti, ani jich ctíti. Nebo já jsem Hospodin Bůh tvůj, Bůh silný, horlivý, navštěvující nepravost otců na synech do třetího i čtvrtého pokolení těch, kteříž nenávidí mne,
5thou shalt not bow down unto them, nor serve them; for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me;
6A činící milosrdenství nad tisíci těmi, kteříž mne milují, a ostříhají přikázaní mých.
6and showing mercy unto the thousandth generation of them that love Me and keep My commandments.
7Nevezmeš jména Hospodina Boha svého nadarmo; neboť nenechá bez pomsty Hospodin toho, kdož by bral jméno jeho nadarmo.
7Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh His name in vain.
8Pomni na den sobotní, abys jej světil.
8Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9Šest dní pracovati budeš, a dělati všeliké dílo své;
9Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work;
10Ale dne sedmého odpočinutí jest Hospodina Boha tvého. Nebudeš dělati žádného díla, ty i syn tvůj i dcera tvá, služebník tvůj i děvka tvá, hovado tvé i příchozí, kterýž jest v branách tvých.
10but the seventh day is a sabbath unto the LORD thy God, in it thou shalt not do any manner of work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy man-servant, nor thy maid-servant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates;
11Nebo v šesti dnech učinil Hospodin nebe a zemi, moře a všecko, což v nich jest, a odpočinul dne sedmého; protož požehnal Hospodin dne sobotního, a posvětil ho.
11for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested on the seventh day; wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
12Cti otce svého i matku svou, ať se prodlejí dnové tvoji na zemi, kterouž Hospodin Bůh tvůj dá tobě.
12Honour thy father and thy mother, that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
13Nezabiješ.
13Thou shalt not murder.
14Nesesmilníš.
14(20-13) Thou shalt not commit adultery.
15Nepokradeš.
15(20-13) Thou shalt not steal.
16Nepromluvíš proti bližnímu svému křivého svědectví.
16(20-13) Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
17Nepožádáš domu bližního svého, aniž požádáš manželky bližního svého, ani služebníka jeho, ani děvky jeho, ani vola jeho, ani osla jeho, ani cožkoli jest bližního tvého.
17(20-14) Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house; thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his man-servant, nor his maid-servant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
18Veškeren pak lid viděl hřímání to a blýskání, a zvuk trouby, a horu kouřící se. To když viděl lid, pohnuli se a stáli zdaleka.
18(20-15) And all the people perceived the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the voice of the horn, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled, and stood afar off.
19A řekli Mojžíšovi: Mluv ty s námi, a poslouchati budeme; a nechť nemluví s námi Bůh, abychom nezemřeli.
19(20-16) And they said unto Moses: 'Speak thou with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die.'
20Odpověděl Mojžíš lidu: Nebojte se; nebo pro zkušení vás sám Bůh přišel, aby bázeň jeho byla mezi vámi, abyste nehřešili.
20(20-17) And Moses said unto the people: 'Fear not; for God is come to prove you, and that His fear may be before you, that ye sin not.'
21Tedy stál lid zdaleka; Mojžíš pak přistoupil k mrákotě, kdež byl Bůh.
21(20-18) And the people stood afar off; but Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.
22I řekl Hospodin Mojžíšovi: Tak povíš synům Izraelským: Vy jste sami viděli, že s nebe mluvil jsem s vámi.
22(20-19) And the LORD said unto Moses: Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel: Ye yourselves have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.
23Protož nevyzdvihujte ničehož ku poctě se mnou; bohů stříbrných a bohů zlatých neučiníte sobě.
23(20-20) Ye shall not make with Me — gods of silver, or gods of gold, ye shall not make unto you.
24Oltář z země uděláš mi a obětovati budeš na něm zápaly své, a pokojné oběti své, ovce své a voly své. Na kterémkoli místě rozkáži slaviti památku jména svého, přijdu k tobě a požehnám tobě.
24(20-21) An altar of earth thou shalt make unto Me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt-offerings, and thy peace-offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen; in every place where I cause My name to be mentioned I will come unto thee and bless thee.
25Jestliže mi pak vzděláš oltář kamenný, nedělej ho z kamene tesaného; nebo jestliže pozdvihneš železa na něj, poškvrníš ho.
25(20-22) And if thou make Me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stones; for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast profaned it.
26Aniž po stupních vstupovati budeš k oltáři mému, aby hanba tvá u něho odkryta nebyla.
26(20-23) Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto Mine altar, that thy nakedness be not uncovered thereon.
