1To ih hmuen kawng to Mordekai mah panoek naah, angmah ih khukbuen to asih, kazii to angzaeng moe, vaipoep hoiah angphuih, vangpui thungah a caeh moe, thaa hoiah a hangh.
1Now when Mardochai had heard these things, he rent his garments, and put on sackcloth, strewing ashes on his head: and he cried with a loud voice in the street in the midst of the city, shewing the anguish of his mind.
2Toe kazii angzaeng kami loe siangpahrang ih khongkha thungah akun o sak ai pongah, siangpahrang ih khongkha taeng khoek to khue ni a phak.
2And he came lamenting in this manner even to the gate of the palace: for no one clothed with sackcloth might enter the king’s court.
3Siangpahrang lok takroekhaih hoi lokpaekhaih ca phakhaih prae kruek ih, Judahnawk loe buhzah o moe, qahhaih hoiah hangh o; paroeai kaminawk loe kazii angzaeng o moe, vaipoep nuiah angsong o.
3And in all provinces, towns, and places, to which the king’s cruel edict was come, there was great mourning among the Jews, with fasting, wailing, and weeping, many using sackcloth and ashes for their bed.
4Esther khenzawnkung tanglanawk hoi anih han toksah kalah tamnanawk mah, Mordekai kawng to siangpahrang zu khaeah thuih pae o. To naah siangpahrang zu loe paroeai palungset; Mordekai mah kazii angkraih hanah, Mordekai hanah khukbuen to a paeksak, toe anih mah la pae ai.
4Then Esther’s maids and her eunuchs went in, and told her. And when she heard it she was in a consternation: and she sent a garment, to clothe him, and to take away the sackcloth: but he would not receive it.
5To naah Esther mah anih khenzawnkung ah siangpahrang mah suek ih angraeng Hathak to kawk moe, tih raihaih maw a tongh, tipongah maw Mordekai loe to tiah oh, tiah lok a duengsak.
5And she called for Athach the eunuch, whom the king had appointed to attend upon her, and she commanded him to go to Mardochai, and learn of him why he did this.
6To pongah Hathak loe Mordekai hnuk hanah, siangpahrang khongkha taeng, vangpui loklam ah caeh.
6And Athach going out went to Mardochai, who was standing in the street of the city, before the palace gate:
7To naah Mordekai mah, a tongh ih hmuen kawng to a thuih pae boih, Judah kaminawk hum hanah, siangpahrang ih tangka nuiah, Haman mah tangka thap let hanah thuih ih loknawk boih to a thuih pae.
7And Mardochai told him all that had happened, how Aman had promised to pay money into the king’s treasures, to have the Jews destroyed.
8Judahnawk tamit boih hanah siangpahrang ohhaih ahmuen Susan vangpui ah takroek ih lokpaekhaih tarik pakong ih kawpi ca to Esther khaeah patuek hanah a paek. Esther mah siangpahrang khaeah caeh nasoe loe, angmah ih acaengnawk hanah tahmenhaih hni pae nasoe, tiah lok a pat pae.
8He gave him also a copy of the edict which was hanging up in Susan, that he should shew it to the queen, and admonish her to go in to the king, and to entreat him for her people.
9Hathak loe caeh moe, Mordekai mah thuih ih loknawk to Esther khaeah thuih pae.
9And Athach went back and told Esther all that Mardochai had said.
10To pongah Esther mah Mordekai khaeah lokthuih hanah Hathak to patoeh let.
10She answered him, and bade him say to Mardochai:
11Siangpahrang ih tamnanawk boih, anih mah ukhaih prae thung ih kaminawk boih, nongpa hoi nongpata, mi kawbaktih mah doeh, siangpahrang mah kawkhaih om ai ah siangpahrang ih imthung longhmaa ah akun kami loe, paduek han oh, tiah maeto khue kaom ukhaih daan to panoek o; siangpahrang mah angmah ih sui cunghet tadong kalah bangah paqoi ving ih kami ni hing tih: toe kai loe hae ni quithumto thung siangpahrang khaeah caeh hanah na kawk ai, tiah a naa.
11All the king’s servants, and all the provinces that are under his dominion, know, that whosoever, whether man or woman, cometh into the king’s inner court, who is not called for, is immediately to be put to death without any delay: except the king shall hold out the golden sceptre to him, in token of clemency, that so he may live. How then can I go in to the king, who for these thirty days now have not been called unto him?
12Esther mah thuih ih loknawk to Mordekai khaeah thuih pae o.
12And when Mardochai had heard this,
13Mordekai mah Esther khaeah, siangpahrang im ah na oh pongah Judahnawk thung hoiah ka loih tih, tiah poek hmah.
13He sent word to Esther again, saying: Think not that thou mayst save thy life only, because thou art in the king a house, more than all the Jews:
14Hae baktih atue thuemah nang hngai duem nahaeloe, Judahnawk loihaih loe ahmuen kalah bang hoiah angzo tih; toe nang hoi nam pa imthung takoh loe anghmaa angtaa o tih; hae baktih raihaih tong nathuem han ih na ai maw siangpahrang im ah na phak? tiah thui paeh, tiah a naa.
14For if thou wilt now hold thy peace, the Jews shall be delivered by some other occasion: and thou, and thy father’s house shall perish. And who knoweth whether thou art not therefore come to the kingdom, that thou mightest be ready in such a time as this?
15To pacoengah Esther mah Mordekai khaeah,
15And again Esther sent to Mardochai in these words:
16caeh ah loe Susan vangpui thungah kaom Judahnawk boih nawnto amkhuengsak ah, ni thumto thung, aqum athun, buhcaa ai, tui doeh nae ai ah, kai hanah buhzaa oh! Kaimah hoi kai khenzawnkung tanglanawk doeh buh ka zah o toeng han; to pacoengah daan baktih na ai ah, siangpahrang khaeah ka caeh han; ka duek nahaloe, duek ah ka om tih, tiah a thuih pae.
16Go, and gather together all the Jews whom thou shalt find in Susan, and pray ye for me. Neither eat nor drink for three days and three nights: and I with my handmaids will fast in like manner, and then I will go in to the king, against the law, not being called, and expose myself to death and to danger.
17To naah Mordekai loe caeh moe, Esther mah anih han thuih pae ih lok baktih toengah a sak.
17So Mardochai went, and did all that Esther had commanded him.
