1O LORD, hear my prayer. In Your faithfulness, give ear to my plea; in Your righteousness, answer me.
1SIGNORE, ascolta la mia orazione, Porgi l'orecchio alle mie supplicazioni; Per la tua verità, e per la tua giustizia, rispondimi.
2Do not bring Your servant into judgment, for no one alive is righteous before You.
2E non venire a giudicio col tuo servitore; Perciocchè niun vivente sarà trovato giusto nel tuo cospetto.
3For the enemy has pursued my soul, crushing my life to the ground, making me dwell in darkness like those long since dead.
3Perciocchè il nemico perseguita l'anima mia; Egli ha fiaccata, ed atterrata la mia vita; Egli mi fa giacere in luoghi tenebrosi, Come quelli che son morti già da lungo tempo.
4My spirit grows faint within me; my heart is dismayed inside me.
4E lo spirito mio spasima in me; Il mio cuore è tutto smarrito dentro di me.
5I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Your works; I consider the work of Your hands.
5Io mi rammemoro i giorni antichi; Io medito tutti i tuoi fatti; Io ragiono delle opere delle tue mani.
6I stretch out my hands to You; my soul thirsts for You like a parched land. Selah
6Io spiego a te le mie mani; L'anima mia è intenta a te, come terra asciutta. (Sela.)
7Answer me quickly, O LORD; my spirit fails. Do not hide Your face from me, or I will be like those who descend to the Pit.
7Affrettati a rispondermi, Signore; Lo spirito mio vien meno; Non nasconder da me la tua faccia, Sì che io sia renduto simile a quelli che scendono nella fossa.
8Let me hear Your loving devotion in the morning, for I have put my trust in You. Teach me the way I should walk, for to You I lift up my soul.
8Fammi sentir la mattina la tua benignità, Perciocchè io mi confido in te; Fammi conoscer la via per la quale ho da camminare, Perciocchè io levo l'anima mia a te.
9Deliver me from my enemies, O LORD; I flee to You for refuge.
9Signore, riscuotimi da' miei nemici; Io mi riduco a te per nascondermi.
10Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God. May Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
10Insegnami a far la tua volontà; Perciocchè tu sei il mio Dio; Il tuo buono Spirito mi giudi nella terra della dirittura.
11For the sake of Your name, O LORD, revive me. In Your righteousness, bring my soul out of trouble.
11O Signore, vivificami, per amor del tuo Nome; Tira fuor di distretta l'anima mia, per la tua giustizia.
12And in Your loving devotion, cut off my enemies. Destroy all who afflict me, for I am Your servant.
12E per la tua benignità, distruggi i miei nemici, E fa' perir tutti quelli che affliggono l'anima mia; Perciocchè io son tuo servitore.
