1Then in the seventh year, Jehoiada strengthened himself and made a covenant with the commanders of hundreds—with Azariah son of Jeroham, Ishmael son of Jehohanan, Azariah son of Obed, Maaseiah son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat son of Zichri.
1Tukun yac onkosr, Jehoiada mwet tol, el wotela mu pacl fal in oasr ma orek. El orala sie pwapa yurin captain limekosr lun un mwet mweun inge: Azariah wen natul Jeroham, Ishmael wen natul Jehohanan, Azariah wen natul Obed, Maaseiah wen natul Adaiah, ac Elishaphat wen natul Zichri.
2So they went throughout Judah and gathered the Levites from all the cities of Judah and the heads of the families of Israel. And when they came to Jerusalem,
2Elos fahsrelik nu in siti nukewa lun Judah, ac usani mwet Levi ac sifen sou nukewa nu Jerusalem.
3the whole assembly made a covenant with the king in the house of God. “Behold, the king’s son!” said Jehoiada. “He must reign, just as the LORD promised concerning the descendants of David.
3Elos nukewa tukeni nu in Tempul, ac elos orala sie wulela yorol Joash, wen natul tokosra. Jehoiada el fahk nu selos, “Pa inge wen nutin tokosra se ma tufahna misa ah. El ac tokosrala inge, in oana ke LEUM GOD El tuh wulela mu mwet in sou lal David pa ac tokosra.
4This is what you are to do: A third of you priests and Levites who come on duty on the Sabbath shall keep watch at the doors,
4Pa inge ma kut ac oru. Ke mwet tol ac mwet Levi elos ac tuku in oru ma kunalos ke len Sabbath, na sie tafu tolu selos ac taran mutunoa nu ke Tempul,
5a third shall be at the royal palace, and a third at the Foundation Gate, while all the others are in the courtyards of the house of the LORD.
Na mwet nukewa ac fah toeni ke nien tukeni likin Tempul uh.
6No one is to enter the house of the LORD except the priests and those Levites who serve; they may enter because they are consecrated, but all the people are to obey the requirement of the LORD.
6Wangin mwet ac fah utyak nu in Tempul sayen mwet tol ac mwet Levi, su oasr ma kunalos we. Elos ku in utyak mweyen elos aknasnasyeyuk tari, ac mwet nukewa saya enenu in akos na ma LEUM GOD El sapkin, ac muta likinum uh.
7The Levites must surround the king with weapons in hand, and anyone who enters the temple must be put to death. You must stay close to the king wherever he goes.”
7Mwet Levi elos ac tu raunella tokosra, ac sruok na cutlass natulos, ac elos ac fah welul tokosra nu yen nukewa el ac som nu we. Kutena mwet su srike in utyak nu in Tempul ac fah anwuki.”
8So the Levites and all Judah did everything that Jehoiada the priest had ordered. Each of them took his men—those coming on duty on the Sabbath and those going off duty—for Jehoiada the priest had not released any of the divisions.
9Then Jehoiada the priest gave to the commanders of hundreds the spears and the large and small shields of King David that were in the house of God.
9Jehoiada el sang osra, ac mwe loeyuk yohk ac mwe loeyuk srik, su ma natul Tokosra David ma oanna in Tempul, nu sin captain lun un mwet mweun uh.
10He stationed all the troops, with their weapons in hand, surrounding the king by the altar and the temple, from the south side to the north side of the temple.
10El kitalik mwet mweun ma sruok cutlass natulos in tu yen nukewa mutun Tempul uh, in taranul tokosra.
11Then Jehoiada and his sons brought out the king’s son, put the crown on him, presented him with the Testimony, and proclaimed him king. They anointed him and shouted, “Long live the king!”
Jehoiada mwet tol, ac wen natul, elos mosrwella Joash, na mwet nukewa sala, “Lela in paht moul lal tokosra!”
12When Athaliah heard the noise of the people running and cheering the king, she went out to them in the house of the LORD.
12Athaliah el lohngak ke mwet uh sasa in akfulatyal tokosra, na el sulaklak som nu ke Tempul, yen mwet uh tukeni we.
13And she looked out and saw the king standing by his pillar at the entrance. The officers and trumpeters were beside the king, and all the people of the land were rejoicing and blowing trumpets, while the singers with musical instruments were leading the praises. Then Athaliah tore her clothes and screamed, “Treason, treason!”
13Na el ngetla liye tokosra sasu sac ke nien utyak nu in Tempul, su tu ke sru soko ma srisrila nu sin tokosra, rauniyukla sin captain lun mwet mweun ac mwet ukuk. Mwet nukewa sasa ke engan ac ukya mwe ukuk, ac mwet on lun Tempul elos srital ke mwe on natulos ac kol akfulat ma orek inge. Athaliah el foloyak ac seya nuknuk lal, ac wowoyak ac fahk, “Sulallal! Sulallal!”
14And Jehoiada the priest sent out the commanders of hundreds in charge of the army, saying, “Bring her out between the ranks, and put to the sword anyone who follows her.” For the priest had said, “She must not be put to death in the house of the LORD.”
14Jehoiada el tia lungse in anwuki Athaliah sisken Tempul uh. Ouinge el pangon captain lun un mwet mweun ac fahk nu selos, “Usalla inmasrlon tak lun mwet mweun an, ac uniya kutena mwet su srike in molella.”
15So they seized Athaliah as she reached the entrance of the Horse Gate to the palace grounds, and there they put her to death.
16Then Jehoiada made a covenant between himself and the king and the people that they would be the LORD’s people.
16Jehoiada, mwet tol, el orala sie wulela tuh el, ac Tokosra Joash, ac mwet uh, ac fah mwet lun LEUM GOD .
17So all the people went to the temple of Baal and tore it down. They smashed the altars and idols to pieces and killed Mattan the priest of Baal in front of the altars.
Elos fukulya loang we ac ma sruloala we, ac unilya Mattan, mwet tol lun Baal, sisken loang we.
18Moreover, Jehoiada put the oversight of the house of the LORD into the hands of the Levitical priests, whom David had appointed over the house of the LORD, to offer burnt offerings to the LORD as is written in the Law of Moses, with rejoicing and song, as ordained by David.
18Jehoiada el sang orekma nukewa in Tempul in oan inpoun mwet tol ac mwet Levi. Elos in oru oana oakwuk lal Tokosra David nu selos ac in furreak ma ac kisakinyuk nu sin LEUM GOD , fal nu ke Ma Sap lal Moses. Ma pac kunalos in karingin on ac pacl in akfulat.
19He stationed gatekeepers at the gates of the house of the LORD, so that nothing unclean could enter for any reason.
19Jehoiada el oayapa filiya mwet topang ke mutunoa in Tempul, tuh kutena mwet su tia nasnas fal nu ke oakwuk lun alu, in tia utyak nu we.
20He also took with him the commanders of hundreds, the nobles, the rulers of the people, and all the people of the land, and they brought the king down from the house of the LORD and entered the royal palace through the Upper Gate. They seated King Joash on the royal throne,
20Captain lun un mwet mweun, sifen sou, mwet kacto, ac mwet nukewa saya, elos welul Jehoiada pwanulla tokosra liki Tempul nu ke lohm sin tokosra. Elos utyak ke mutunpot se ma oa emeet, na tokosra el som muta fin tron lal ah.
21and all the people of the land rejoiced. And the city was quiet, because Athaliah had been put to the sword.
21Insien mwet nukewa sessesla ke engan, ac siti sac muta misla tukun Athaliah el anwuki.
