1Now about the times and seasons, brothers, we do not need to write to you.
1اما‌ای برادران در خصوص وقتها و زمانها، احتیاج ندارید که به شما بنویسم.
2For you are fully aware that the Day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
2زیراخود شما به تحقیق آگاهید که روز خداوند چون دزد در شب می‌آید.
3While people are saying, “Peace and security,” destruction will come upon them suddenly, like labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
3زیرا هنگامی که می‌گویندسلامتی و امان است، آنگاه هلاکت ایشان راناگهان فرو خواهد گرفت، چون درد زه زن حامله را و هرگز رستگار نخواهند شد.
4But you, brothers, are not in the darkness so that this day should overtake you like a thief.
4لیکن شما‌ای برادران در ظلمت نیستید تا آن روز چون دزد برشما آید،
5For you are all sons of the light and sons of the day; we do not belong to the night or to the darkness.
5زیرا جمیع شما پسران نور و پسران روز هستید، از شب و ظلمت نیستیم.
6So then, let us not sleep as the others do, but let us remain awake and sober.
6بنابراین مثل دیگران به خواب نرویم بلکه بیدار و هشیارباشیم.
7For those who sleep, sleep at night; and those who get drunk, get drunk at night.
7زیرا خوابیدگان در شب می‌خوابند ومستان در شب مست می‌شوند.
8But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and the helmet of our hope of salvation.
8لیکن ما که ازروز هستیم، هشیار بوده، جوشن ایمان و محبت وخود امید نجات را بپوشیم.
9For God has not appointed us to suffer wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
9زیرا خدا ما را تعیین نکرد برای غضب بلکه بجهت تحصیل نجات، بوسیله خداوند ما عیسی مسیح،
10He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with Him.
10که برای مامرد تا خواه بیدار باشیم و خواه خوابیده، همراه وی زیست کنیم.
11Therefore encourage and build one another up, just as you are already doing.
11پس همدیگر را تسلی دهیدو یکدیگر را بنا کنید، چنانکه هم می‌کنید.
12But we ask you, brothers, to acknowledge those who work diligently among you, who preside over you in the Lord and give you instruction.
12اما‌ای برادران به شما التماس داریم که بشناسید آنانی را که در میان شما زحمت می‌کشند و پیشوایان شما در خداوند بوده، شمارا نصیحت می‌کنند.
13In love, hold them in highest regard because of their work. Live in peace with one another.
13و ایشان را در نهایت محبت، به‌سبب عملشان محترم دارید و بایکدیگر صلح کنید.
14And we urge you, brothers, to admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, and be patient with everyone.
14لیکن‌ای برادران، از شمااستدعا داریم که سرکشان را تنبیه نمایید وکوتاه دلان را دلداری دهید و ضعفا را حمایت کنید و با جمیع مردم تحمل کنید.
15Make sure that no one repays evil for evil. Always pursue what is good for one another and for all people.
15زنهار کسی با کسی به سزای بدی بدی نکند، بلکه دائم بایکدیگر و با جمیع مردم در‌پی نیکویی بکوشید.
16Rejoice at all times.
16پیوسته شادمان باشید.
17Pray without ceasing.
17همیشه دعا کنید.
18Give thanks in every circumstance, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
18در هر امری شاکر باشید که این است اراده خدادر حق شما در مسیح عیسی.
19Do not extinguish the Spirit.
19روح را اطفامکنید.
20Do not treat prophecies with contempt,
20نبوتها را خوار مشمارید.
21but test all things. Hold fast to what is good.
21همه‌چیزرا تحقیق کنید، و به آنچه نیکو است متمسک باشید.
22Abstain from every form of evil.
22از هر نوع بدی احتراز نمایید.
23Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely, and may your entire spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
23اما خود خدای سلامتی، شما را بالکل مقدس گرداناد و روح و نفس و بدن شما تمام بی‌عیب محفوظ باشد در وقت آمدن خداوند ماعیسی مسیح.
24The One who calls you is faithful, and He will do it.
24امین است دعوت کننده شما که این را هم خواهد کرد.
25Brothers, pray for us as well.
25ای برادران، برای ما دعا کنید.
26Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss.
26جمیع برادران را به بوسه مقدسانه تحیت نمایید.
27I charge you before the Lord to have this letter read to all the brothers.
27شمارا به خداوند قسم می‌دهم که این رساله برای جمیع برادران مقدس خوانده شود.
28The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
