1If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a ringing gong or a clanging cymbal.
1Congca kaminawk ih lok hoi van kaminawk ih lok to ka paeh thaih langlacadoeh, amlunghaih tawn ai nahaeloe, kai loe monglaeng maw, to tih ai boeh loe cingceng maw boh rumram ih lok baktiah ni ka oh.
2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have absolute faith so as to move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
2Lok taphonghaih tangqum, kathuk loknawk to panoek boih moe, congca panoekhaih to ka tawnh; mae angthuisak thaih han khoek to, tanghaihnawk ka tawnh boih langlacadoeh, amlunghaih ka tawn ai nahaeloe, kai loe tidoeh na ai ni.
3If I give all I possess to the poor and exult in the surrender of my body, but have not love, I gain nothing.
3Amtang kaminawk com hanah ka tawnh ih hmuenmaenawk to ka paek boih, ka takpum hmai hoi qoeng han khoek to kang paek langlacadoeh, amlunghaih tawn ai nahaeloe, kai han avanghaih tidoeh om ai.
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
4Amlunghaih loe pauephaih to tawnh moe, tahmenhaih to tawnh; amlunghaih mah loe uthaih tawn ai; amlunghaih mah loe poeksanghaih tawn ai; amlunghaih mah loe amoekhaih tawn ai,
5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no account of wrongs.
5tuinuen sae ai, aimah taham khue poek ai, palungphui han rai, kasae sak han poek ai;
6Love takes no pleasure in evil, but rejoices in the truth.
6loktang lokah anghoehaih a tawnh, toe kahoih ai hmuen ah loe anghoe ai.
7It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
7Hmuennawk boih ah pauephaih a tawnh, hmuennawk boih ah oepthoh, hmuennawk boih ah oephaih tawnh moe, hmuennawk boih ah palungsawk.
8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be restrained; where there is knowledge, it will be dismissed.
8Amlunghaih loe natuek naah doeh boeng ai: toe lok taphonghaih om langlacadoeh, boenghaih om tih; congca lok apaeh langlacadoeh, boenghaih to om tih; panoekthaihaih om langlacadoeh, anghmaa tih.
9For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
9Aicae mah ahap ni a panoek o moe, ahap ni a taphong o vop.
10but when the perfect comes, the partial passes away.
10Toe akoephaih angzoh naah loe, akoep ai ahap panoekhaih to anghmaa tih boeh.
11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I set aside childish ways.
11Nawkta naah loe, nawkta baktiah lok ka paeh, nawkta panoekhaih baktiah ka panoek, nawkta poekhaih baktiah ka poek: toe ka saning akoep naah loe, nawkta nathuem ih hmuennawk to ka toengh.
12Now we see but a dim reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
12Vaihi loe hmaidan hoiah ni, amtueng parai ai ah a hnuk o vop; toe hnukkhuem ah loe mikhmai kangtong ah a hnu o tih: vaihi loe ahap ni ka panoep vop; toe hnukkhuem ah loe minawk mah kai ang panoek o baktih toengah, ka panoek toeng tih boeh.
13And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love; but the greatest of these is love.
13Vaihiah tanghaih, oephaih hoi amlunghaih, tiah hmuen thumto oh; toe hae thumto thungah amlunghaih to len koek.
