1The message that Jeremiah the prophet spoke to Baruch the son of Neriah, when he wrote these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, saying,
1Dies ist das Wort, so der Prophet Jeremia redete zu Baruch, dem Sohn Nerias, da er diese Reden in ein Buch schrieb aus dem Munde Jeremia's im vierten Jahr Jojakims, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs in Juda, und sprach:
2“The LORD, the God of Israel, says to you, Baruch:
2So spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels, von dir Baruch:
3‘You said, “Woe is me now! For the LORD has added sorrow to my pain! I am weary with my groaning, and I find no rest.”’
3Du sprichst: Weh mir, wie hat mir der HERR Jammer zu meinem Schmerz hinzugefügt! Ich seufze mich müde und finde keine Ruhe.
4“You shall tell him, the LORD says: ‘Behold, that which I have built, I will break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up; and this in the whole land.
4Sage ihm also: So spricht der HERR: Siehe, was ich gebaut habe, das breche ich ab; und was ich gepflanzt habe, das reute ich aus nämlich dies mein ganzes Land.
5Do you seek great things for yourself? Don’t seek them; for, behold, I will bring evil on all flesh,’ says the LORD, ‘but I will let you escape with your life wherever you go.’”
5Und du begehrst dir große Dinge? Begehre es nicht! Denn siehe, ich will Unglück kommen lassen über alles Fleisch, spricht der HERR; aber deine Seele will ich dir zur Beute geben, an welchen Ort du ziehst.
