1Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, to the assembly of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
1پولس و سلوانس و تیموتاوس، به کلیسای تسالونیکیان که در خدای پدر وعیسی مسیح خداوند می‌باشید. فیض و سلامتی از جانب پدر ما خدا و عیسی مسیح خداوند با شما باد.
2We always give thanks to God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers,
2پیوسته درباره جمیع شما خدا را شکرمی کنیم و دائم در دعاهای خود شما را ذکرمی نماییم،
3remembering without ceasing your work of faith and labor of love and perseverance of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, before our God and Father.
3چون اعمال ایمان شما و محنت محبت و صبر امید شما را در خداوند ما عیسی مسیح در حضور خدا و پدر خود یاد می‌کنیم.
4We know, brothers loved by God, that you are chosen,
4زیرا که‌ای برادران و‌ای عزیزان خدا، ازبرگزیده شدن شما مطلع هستیم،
5and that our Good News came to you not in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and with much assurance. You know what kind of men we showed ourselves to be among you for your sake.
5زیرا که انجیل ما بر شما محض سخن وارد نشده، بلکه با قوت وروح‌القدس و یقین کامل، چنانکه می‌دانید که درمیان شما بخاطر شما چگونه مردمان شدیم.
6You became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit,
6وشما به ما و به خداوند اقتدا نمودید و کلام را درزحمت شدید، با خوشی روح‌القدس پذیرفتید،
7so that you became an example to all who believe in Macedonia and in Achaia.
7به حدی که شما جمیع ایمانداران مکادونیه واخائیه را نمونه شدید،
8For from you the word of the Lord has been declared, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith toward God has gone out, so that we need not say anything.
8بنوعی که از شما کلام خداوند نه فقط در مکادونیه و اخائیه نواخته شد، بلکه در هرجا ایمان شما به خدا شیوع یافت، بقسمی که احتیاج نیست که ما چیزی بگوییم،
9For they themselves report concerning us what kind of a reception we had from you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve a living and true God,
9زیرا خود ایشان درباره ما خبر می‌دهند که چه قسم وارد به شما شدیم و به چه نوع شما از بتها به سوی خدا بازگشت کردید تا خدای حی حقیقی را بندگی نمایید،
10and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead: Jesus, who delivers us from the wrath to come.
10و تا پسر او را از آسمان انتظاربکشید که او را از مردگان برخیزانید، یعنی عیسی که ما را از غضب آینده می‌رهاند.
