1И прибыл Ровоам в Иерусалим и созвал из дома Иудина и Вениаминова сто восемьдесят тысяч отборных воинов, чтобы воевать с Израилем и возвратить царство Ровоаму.
1And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he gathered of the house of Judah and Benjamin an hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men , which were warriors, to fight against Israel, that he might bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam.
2И было слово Господне к Самею, человеку Божию, и сказано:
2But the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
3скажи Ровоаму, сыну Соломонову, царю Иудейскому, и всему Израилю в колене Иудином и Вениаминовом:
3Speak unto Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying,
4так говорит Господь: не ходите и не начинайте войны с братьями вашими; возвратитесь каждый в дом свой, ибо Мною сделано это. Они послушались слов Господних и возвратились из похода против Иеровоама.
4Thus saith the LORD , Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the LORD , and returned from going against Jeroboam.
5Ровоам жил в Иерусалиме; он обнес города в Иудее стенами.
5¶ And Rehoboam dwelt in Jerusalem, and built cities for defence in Judah.
6Он укрепил Вифлеем и Ефам, и Фекою,
6He built even Beth-lehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,
7и Вефцур, и Сохо, и Одоллам,
7And Beth-zur, and Shoco, and Adullam,
8и Геф, и Марешу, и Зиф,
8And Gath, and Mareshah, and Ziph,
9и Адораим, и Лахис, и Азеку,
9And Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,
10и Цору, и Аиалон, и Хеврон, находившиеся в колене Иудином и Вениаминовом.
10And Zorah, and Aijalon, and Hebron, which are in Judah and in Benjamin fenced cities.
11И утвердил он крепости сии, и устроил в них начальников и хранилища для хлеба и деревянного масла и вина.
11And he fortified the strong holds, and put captains in them, and store of victual, and of oil and wine.
12И дал в каждый город щиты и копья и утвердил их весьма сильно. И оставались за ним Иуда и Вениамин.
12And in every several city he put shields and spears, and made them exceeding strong, having Judah and Benjamin on his side.
13И священники и левиты, какие были по всей земле Израильской, собрались к нему из всех пределов,
13¶ And the priests and the Levites that were in all Israel resorted to him out of all their coasts.
14ибо оставили левиты свои городские предместья и свои владения и пришли в Иудею и в Иерусалим, так как отставил их Иеровоам и сыновья его от священства Господня
14For the Levites left their suburbs and their possession, and came to Judah and Jerusalem: for Jeroboam and his sons had cast them off from executing the priest’s office unto the LORD :
15и поставил у себя жрецов к высотам, и к козлам, и к тельцам, которых он сделал.
15And he ordained him priests for the high places, and for the devils, and for the calves which he had made.
16А за ними и из всех колен Израилевых расположившие сердце свое, чтобы взыскать Господа Бога Израилева, приходили в Иерусалим, дабы приносить жертвы Господу Богу отцов своих.
16And after them out of all the tribes of Israel such as set their hearts to seek the LORD God of Israel came to Jerusalem, to sacrifice unto the LORD God of their fathers.
17И укрепили они царство Иудино и поддерживали Ровоама, сына Соломонова, три года, потому что ходили путем Давида и Соломона в сии три года.
17So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and made Rehoboam the son of Solomon strong, three years: for three years they walked in the way of David and Solomon.
18И взял себе Ровоам в жену Махалафу, дочь Иеримофа, сына Давидова, и Авихаиль, дочь Елиава, сына Иессеева,
18¶ And Rehoboam took him Mahalath the daughter of Jerimoth the son of David to wife, and Abihail the daughter of Eliab the son of Jesse;
19и она родила ему сыновей: Иеуса и Шемарию и Загама.
19Which bare him children; Jeush, and Shamariah, and Zaham.
20После нее он взял Мааху, дочь Авессалома, и она родила ему Авию и Аттая, и Зизу и Шеломифа.
20And after her he took Maachah the daughter of Absalom; which bare him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
21И любил Ровоам Мааху, дочь Авессалома, более всех жен и наложниц своих, ибо он имел восемнадцать жен и шестьдесят наложниц и родил двадцать восемь сыновей и шестьдесят дочерей.
21And Rehoboam loved Maachah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines: (for he took eighteen wives, and threescore concubines; and begat twenty and eight sons, and threescore daughters.)
22И поставил Ровоам Авию, сына Маахи, главою и князем над братьями его, потому что хотел воцарить его.
22And Rehoboam made Abijah the son of Maachah the chief, to be ruler among his brethren: for he thought to make him king.
23И действовал благоразумно, и разослал всех сыновей своих по всем землям Иуды и Вениамина во все укрепленные города, и дал им содержание большое и приискал много жен.
23And he dealt wisely, and dispersed of all his children throughout all the countries of Judah and Benjamin, unto every fenced city: and he gave them victual in abundance. And he desired many wives.
