1Hear this word that the LORD hath spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,
1Слушайте слово сие, которое Господь изрек на вас, сыны Израилевы, на все племя, которое вывел Я из земли Египетской, говоря:
2You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.
2только вас признал Я из всех племен земли, потому и взыщу с вас за все беззакония ваши.
3Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
3Пойдут ли двое вместе, не сговорившись между собою?
4Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing?
4Ревет ли лев в лесу, когда нет перед ним добычи? подает ли свой голос львенок из логовища своего, когда он ничего не поймал?
5Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no gin is for him? shall one take up a snare from the earth, and have taken nothing at all?
5Попадет ли птица в петлю на земле, когда силка нет для нее? Поднимется ли с земли петля, когда ничего не попало в нее?
6Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it ?
6Трубит ли в городе труба, - и народ не испугался бы? Бывает ли в городе бедствие, которое не Господь попустил бы?
7Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
7Ибо Господь Бог ничего не делает, не открыв Своей тайны рабам Своим, пророкам.
8The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy?
8Лев начал рыкать, - кто не содрогнется? Господь Бог сказал, - кто не будет пророчествовать?
9¶ Publish in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the great tumults in the midst thereof, and the oppressed in the midst thereof.
9Провозгласите на кровлях в Азоте и на кровлях в земле Египетской и скажите: соберитесь на горы Самарии и посмотрите на великое бесчинство в ней и на притеснения среди нее.
10For they know not to do right, saith the LORD , who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.
10Они не умеют поступать справедливо, говорит Господь: насилием и грабежом собирают сокровища в чертоги свои.
11Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD ; An adversary there shall be even round about the land; and he shall bring down thy strength from thee, and thy palaces shall be spoiled.
11Посему так говорит Господь Бог: вот неприятель, и притом вокруг всей земли! он низложит могущество твое, и ограблены будут чертоги твои.
12Thus saith the LORD ; As the shepherd taketh out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear; so shall the children of Israel be taken out that dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus in a couch.
12Так говорит Господь: как иногда пастух исторгает из пасти львиной две голени или часть уха, так спасены будут сыны Израилевы, сидящие в Самарии в углу постели и в Дамаске на ложе.
13Hear ye, and testify in the house of Jacob, saith the Lord GOD , the God of hosts,
13Слушайте и засвидетельствуйте дому Иакова, говорит Господь Бог, Бог Саваоф.
14That in the day that I shall visit the transgressions of Israel upon him I will also visit the altars of Beth-el: and the horns of the altar shall be cut off, and fall to the ground.
14Ибо в тот день, когда Я взыщу с Израиля за преступления его, взыщу и за жертвенники в Вефиле, и отсечены будут роги алтаря, и падут на землю.
15And I will smite the winter house with the summer house; and the houses of ivory shall perish, and the great houses shall have an end, saith the LORD .
15И поражу дом зимний вместе с домом летним, и исчезнут домы с украшениями из слоновой кости, и не станет многих домов, говорит Господь.
