1ΛΟΓΟΙ Ἀμώς, οἳ ἐγένοντο ἐν Ἀκκαρεὶμ ἐκ Θεκουέ, οὓς εἶδεν ὑπὲρ Ἱερουσαλὴμ ἐν ἡμέραις Ὀζίου βασιλέως Ἰούδα καὶ ἐν ἡμέραις Ἱεροβοὰμ τοῦ Ἰωὰς βασιλέως Ἰσραήλ, πρὸ δύο ἐτῶν τοῦ σεισμοῦ.
1The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
2Καὶ εἶπε· Κύριος ἐκ Σιὼν ἐφθέγξατο καὶ ἐξ Ἱερουσαλὴμ ἔδωκε φωνὴν αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐπένθησαν αἱ νομαὶ τῶν ποιμένων, καὶ ἐξηράνθη ἡ κορυφὴ τοῦ Καρμήλου.
2And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.
3Καὶ εἶπε Κύριος· ἐπὶ ταῖς τρισὶν ἀσεβείαις Δαμασκοῦ καὶ ἐπὶ ταῖς τέσσαρσιν οὐκ ἀποστραφήσομαι αὐτόν, ἀνθ᾿ ὧν ἔπριζον πρίοσι σιδηροῖς τὰς ἐν γαστρὶ ἐχούσας τῶν ἐν Γαλαάδ·
3Thus saith the LORD ; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron:
4καὶ ἀποστελῶ πῦρ εἰς τὸν οἶκον Ἀζαήλ, καὶ καταφάγεται τὰ θεμέλια υἱοῦ Ἄδερ·
4But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Ben-hadad.
5καὶ συντρίψω μοχλοὺς Δαμασκοῦ καὶ ἐξολοθρεύσω κατοικοῦντας ἐκ πεδίου Ὦν, καὶ κατακόψω φυλὴν ἐξ ἀνδρῶν Χαρράν, καὶ αἰχμαλωτευθήσεται λαὸς Συρίας ἐπίκλητος, λέγει Κύριος.
5I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD .
6Τάδε λέγει Κύριος· ἐπὶ ταῖς τρισὶν ἀσεβείαις Γάζης καὶ ἐπὶ ταῖς τέσσαρσιν οὐκ ἀποστραφήσομαι αὐτούς, ἕνεκεν τοῦ αἰχμαλωτεῦσαι αὐτοὺς αἰχμαλωσίαν τοῦ Σαλωμὼν τοῦ συγκλεῖσαι εἰς τὴν Ἰδουμαίαν.
6¶ Thus saith the LORD ; For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver them up to Edom:
7καὶ ἐξαποστελῶ πῦρ ἐπὶ τὰ τείχη Γάζης, καὶ καταφάγεται τὰ θεμέλια αὐτῆς·
7But I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces thereof:
8καὶ ἐξολοθρεύσω κατοικοῦντας ἐξ Ἀζώτου, καὶ ἐξαρθήσεται φυλὴ ἐξ Ἀσκάλωνος, καὶ ἐπάξω τὴν χεῖρά μου ἐπὶ Ἀκκάρων, καὶ ἀπολοῦνται οἱ κατάλοιποι τῶν ἀλλοφύλων, λέγει Κύριος.
8And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn mine hand against Ekron: and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord GOD .
9Τάδε λέγει Κύριος· ἐπὶ ταῖς τρισὶν ἀσεβείαις Τύρου καὶ ἐπὶ ταῖς τέσσαρσιν οὐκ ἀποστραφήσομαι αὐτήν, ἀνθ᾿ ὧν συνέκλεισαν αἰχμαλωσίαν τοῦ Σαλωμὼν εἰς τὴν Ἰδουμαίαν καὶ οὐκ ἐμνήσθησαν διαθήκης ἀδελφῶν·
9¶ Thus saith the LORD ; For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:
10καὶ ἐξαποστελῶ πῦρ ἐπὶ τὰ τείχη Τύρου, καὶ καταφάγεται τὰ θεμέλια αὐτῆς.
10But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyrus, which shall devour the palaces thereof.
11Τάδε λέγει Κύριος· ἐπὶ ταῖς τρισὶν ἀσεβείαις τῆς Ἰδουμαίας καὶ ἐπὶ ταῖς τέσσαρσιν οὐκ ἀποστραφήσομαι αὐτούς, ἕνεκα τοῦ διῶξαι αὐτοὺς ἐν ρομφαίᾳ τὸν ἀδελφὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐλυμήνατο μητέρα ἐπὶ γῆς καὶ ἥρπασεν εἰς μαρτύριον φρίκην αὐτοῦ καὶ τὸ ὅρμημα αὐτοῦ ἐφύλαξεν εἰς νῖκος.
11¶ Thus saith the LORD ; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:
12καὶ ἐξαποστελῶ πῦρ εἰς Θαμάν, καὶ καταφάγεται θεμέλια τειχέων αὐτῆς.
12But I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.
13Τάδε λέγει Κύριος· ἐπὶ ταῖς τρισὶν ἀσεβείαις υἱῶν Ἀμμὼν καὶ ἐπὶ ταῖς τέσσαρσιν οὐκ ἀποστραφήσομαι αὐτόν, ἀνθ᾿ ὧν ἀνέσχιζον τὰς ἐν γαστρὶ ἐχούσας τῶν Γαλααδιτῶν, ὅπως ἐμπλατύνωσι τὰ ὅρια αὐτῶν·
13¶ Thus saith the LORD ; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:
14καὶ ἀνάψω πῦρ ἐπὶ τείχη Ραββάθ, καὶ καταφάγεται θεμέλια αὐτῆς μετὰ κραυγῆς ἐν ἡμέρᾳ πολέμου, καὶ σεισθήσεται ἐν ἡμέραις συντελείας αὐτῆς·
14But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:
15καὶ πορεύσονται οἱ βασιλεῖς αὐτῆς ἐν αἰχμαλωσίᾳ, οἱ ἱερεῖς αὐτῶν καὶ οἱ ἄρχοντες αὐτῶ ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτό, λέγει Κύριος.
15And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith the LORD .
