1After the blood of the guilty was shed, the Lord said to Moses and to Eleazar the son of Aaron, the priest:
1ΚΑΙ ἐγένετο μετὰ τὴν πληγὴν καὶ ἐλάλησε Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν καὶ Ἐλεάζαρ τὸν ἱερέα λέγων·
2Number the whole sum of the children of Israel from twenty years old and upward, by their houses and kindreds, all that are able to go forth to war.
2λαβὲ τὴν ἀρχὴν πάσης συναγωγῆς υἱῶν Ἰσραὴλ ἀπὸ εἰκοσαετοῦς καὶ ἐπάνω κατ' οἴκους πατριῶν αὐτῶν, πᾶς ὁ ἐκπορευόμενος παρατάξασθαι ἐν Ἰσραήλ.
3Moses therefore and Eleazar the priest, being in the plains of Moab upon the Jordan over against Jericho, spoke to them that were
3καὶ ἐλάλησε Μωυσῆς καὶ Ἐλεάζαρ ὁ ἱερεὺς ἐν Ἀραβὼθ Μωὰβ ἐπὶ τοῦ Ἰορδάνου κατὰ Ἱεριχὼ λέγων·
4From twenty years old and upward, as the Lord had commanded: and this is the number of them:
4ἀπὸ εἰκοσαετοῦς καὶ ἐπάνω, ὃν τρόπον συνέταξε Κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ. καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Ἰσραὴλ οἱ ἐξελθόντες ἐξ Αἰγύπτου·
5Ruben the firstborn of Israel. His sons were Henoch, of whom is the family of the Henochites: and Phallu, of whom is the family of the Phalluites:
5Ρουβὴν πρωτότοκος Ἰσραήλ. υἱοὶ δὲ Ρουβήν· Ἐνὼχ καὶ δῆμος τοῦ Ἐνώχ· τῷ Φαλλοὺ δῆμος τοῦ Φαλλουΐ·
6And Hesron, of whom is the family of the Hesronites: and Charmi, of whom is the family of the Charmites.
6τῷ Ἀσρὼν δῆμος τοῦ Ἀσρωνί· τῷ Χαρμὶ δῆμος τοῦ Χαρμί.
7These are the families of the stock of Ruben: whose number was found to be forty-three thousand seven hundred and thirty.
7οὗτοι δῆμοι Ρουβήν· καὶ ἐγένετο ἡ ἐπίσκεψις αὐτῶν τρεῖς καὶ τεσσαράκοντα χιλιάδες καὶ ἑπτακόσιοι καὶ τριάκοντα.
8The son of Phallu was Eliab.
8καὶ υἱοὶ Φαλλοὺ Ἑλιάβ.
9His sons, were Namuel and Dathan and Abiron. These are Dathan and Abiron the princes of the people, that rose against Moses and Aaron in the sedition of Core, when they rebelled against the Lord:
9καὶ υἱοὶ Ἑλιάβ· Ναμουὴλ καὶ Δαθὰν καὶ Ἀβειρών· οὗτοι ἐπίκλητοι τῆς συναγωγῆς, οὗτοί εἰσιν οἱ ἐπισυστάντες ἐπὶ Μωυσῆν καὶ Ἀαρὼν ἐν τῇ συναγωγῇ Κορέ, ἐν τῇ ἐπισυστάσει Κυρίου,
10And the earth opening her mouth swallowed up Core, many others dying, when the fire burned two hundred and fifty men. And there was a great miracle wrought,
10καὶ ἀνοίξασα ἡ γῆ τὸ στόμα αὐτῆς κατέπιεν αὐτοὺς καὶ Κορὲ ἐν τῷ θανάτῳ τῆς συναγωγῆς αὐτοῦ, ὅτε κατέφαγε τὸ πῦρ τοὺς πεντήκοντα καὶ διακοσίους, καὶ ἐγενήθησαν ἐν σημείῳ,
11That when Core perished, his sons did not perish.
11οἱ δὲ υἱοὶ Κορὲ οὐκ ἀπέθανον.
12The sons of Simeon by their kindreds: Namuel, of him is the family of the Namuelites: Jamin, of him is the family of the Jaminites: Jachin, of him is the family of the Jachinites:
12καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Συμεών· ὁ δῆμος τῶν υἱῶν Συμεών· τῷ Ναμουὴλ δῆμος ὁ Ναμουηλί· τῷ Ἰαμὶν δῆμος ὁ Ἰαμινί· τῷ Ἰαχὶν δῆμος Ἰαχινί·
13Zare, of him is the family of the Zarites: Saul, of him is the family of the Saulites.
13τῷ Ζαρὰ δῆμος ὁ Ζαραΐ· τῷ Σαοὺλ δῆμος ὁ Σαουλί.
14These are the families of the stock of Simeon, of which the whole number was twenty-two thousand two hundred.
14οὗτοι δῆμοι Συμεὼν ἐκ τῆς ἐπισκέψεως αὐτῶν, δύο καὶ εἴκοσι χιλιάδες καὶ διακόσιοι.
15The sons of Gad by their kindreds: Sephon, of hin; Is the family of the Sephonites: Aggi, of him is the family of the Aggites: Suni, of him is the family of the Sunites:
15υἱοὶ δὲ Ἰούδα· Ἢρ καὶ Αὐνάν· καὶ ἀπέθανεν Ἢρ καὶ Αὐνὰν ἐν γῇ Χαναάν.
16Ozni, of him is the family of the Oznites: Her, of him is the family of the Herites:
16καὶ ἐγένοντο οἱ υἱοὶ Ἰούδα κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν· τῷ Σηλὼμ δῆμος ὁ Σηλωνί· τῷ Φαρὲς δῆμος ὁ Φαρεσί· τῷ Ζαρὰ δῆμος ὁ Ζαραΐ.
17Arod, of him is the family of the Arodites: Ariel, of him is the family of the Arielites.
17καὶ ἐγένοντο οἱ υἱοὶ Φαρές· τῷ Ἀσρὼν δῆμος ὁ Ἀσρωνί· τῷ Ἰαμούν, δῆμος ὁ Ἰαμουνί.
18These are the families of Gad, of which the whole number was forty thousand five hundred.
18οὗτοι δῆμοι τοῦ Ἰούδα κατὰ τὴν ἐπίσκεψιν αὐτῶν, ἓξ καὶ ἑβδομήκοντα χιλιάδες καὶ πεντακόσιοι.
19The sons of Juda, Her and Onan, who both died in the land of Chanaan.
19καὶ υἱοὶ Ἰσσάχαρ κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν· τῷ Θωλᾷ δῆμος ὁ Θωλαΐ· τῷ Φουᾷ δῆμος ὁ Φουαΐ·
20And the sons of Juda by their kindreds were: Sela, of whom is the family of the Selaites: Phares, of whom is the family of the Pharesites: Zare, of whom is the family of the Zarites.
20τῷ Ἰασοὺβ δῆμος ὁ Ἰασουβί· τῷ Σαμρὰμ δῆμος ὁ Σαμραμί.
21Moreover the sons of Phares were: Hesron, of whom is the family of the Hesronites: and Hamul, of whom is the family of the Hamulites.
21οὗτοι δῆμοι Ἰσσάχαρ ἐξ ἐπισκέψεως αὐτῶν, τέσσαρες καὶ ἑξήκοντα χιλιάδες καὶ τετρακόσιοι.
22These are the families of Juda, of which the whole number was seventy-six thousand five hundred.
22υἱοὶ Ζαβουλὼν κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν· τῷ Σαρὲδ δῆμος ὁ Σαρεδί· τῷ Ἀλλὼν δῆμος ὁ Ἀλλωνί· τῷ Ἀλλὴλ δῆμος ὁ Ἀλληλί·
23The sons of Issachar, by their kindreds: Thola, of whom is the family of the Tholaites: Phua, of whom is the family of the Phuaites:
23οὗτοι δῆμοι Ζαβουλὼν ἐξ ἐπισκέψεως αὐτῶν, ἑξήκοντα χιλιάδες καὶ πεντακόσιοι.
24Jasub, of whom is the family of the Jasubites: Semran, of whom is the family of the Semranites.
24υἱοὶ Γὰδ κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν· τῷ Σαφὼν δῆμος ὁ Σαφωνί· τῷ Ἀγγὶ δῆμος ὁ Ἀγγί· τῷ Σουνὶ δῆμος ὁ Σουνί·
25These are the kindreds of Issachar, whose number was sixty-four thousand three hundred.
25τῷ Ἀζενὶ δῆμος ὁ Ἀζενί· τῷ Ἀδδὶ δῆμος ὁ Ἀδδί·
26The sons of Zabulon by their kindreds: Sared, of whom is the family of the Saredites: Elon, of whom is the family of the Elonites: Jalel, of whom is the family of the Jalelites.
26τῷ Ἀροαδὶ δῆμος ὁ Ἀροαδί· τῷ Ἀριὴλ δῆμος ὁ Ἀριηλί.
27These are the kindreds of Zabulon, whose number was sixty thousand five hundred.
27οὗτοι δῆμοι υἱῶν Γὰδ ἐξ ἐπισκέψεως αὐτῶν, τέσσαρες καὶ τεσσαράκοντα χιλιάδες καὶ πεντακόσιοι.
28The sons of Joseph by their kindred, Manasses and Ephraim.
28υἱοὶ Ἀσὴρ κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν· τῷ Ἰαμὶν δῆμος ὁ Ἰαμινί· τῷ Ἰεσοὺ δῆμος ὁ Ἰεσουΐ· τῷ Βαριὰ δῆμος ὁ Βαριαΐ·
29Of Manasses was born Machir, of whom is the family of the Machirites. Machir beget Galaad, of whom is the family of the Galaadites.
29τῷ Χοβὲρ δῆμος ὁ Χοβερί· τῷ Μελχιὴλ δῆμος ὁ Μελχιηλί.
30Galaad had sons: Jezer, of whom is the family of the Jezerites: and Helec, of whom is the family of the Helecites:
30καὶ τὸ ὄνομα θυγατρὸς Ἀσὴρ Σάρα.
31And Asriel, of whom is the family of the Asrielites: and Sechem, of whom is the family of the Sechemites:
31οὗτοι δῆμοι Ἀσὴρ ἐξ ἐπισκέψεως αὐτῶν, τρεῖς καὶ τεσσαράκοντα χιλιάδες καὶ τετρακόσιοι.
32And Semida, of whom is the family of the Semidaites: and Hepher, of whom is the family of the Hepherites.
32υἱοὶ Ἰωσὴφ κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν· Μανασσῆ καὶ Ἐφραίμ.
33And Hepher was the father of Salphaad, who had no sons, but only daughters, whose names are these: Maala, and Noa, and Hegla, and Melcha, and Thersa.
33υἱοὶ Μανασσῆ· τῷ Μαχὶρ δῆμος ὁ Μαχιρί· καὶ Μαχὶρ ἐγέννησε τὸν Γαλαάδ· τῷ Γαλαὰδ δῆμος ὁ Γαλααδί.
34These are the families of Manasses, and the number of them fifty-two thousand seven hundred.
34καὶ οὗτοι υἱοὶ Γαλαάδ· Ἀχιέζερ δῆμος ὁ Ἀχιεζερί· τῷ Χελὲγ δῆμος ὁ Χελεγί·
35And the sons of Ephraim by their kindreds were these: Suthala, of whom is the family of the Suthalaites: Becher, of whom is the family of the Becherites: Thehen, of whom is the family of the Thehenites.
35τῷ Ἐσριὴλ δῆμος ὁ Ἐσριηλί· τῷ Συχὲμ δῆμος ὁ Συχεμί·
36Now the son of Suthala was Heran, of whom is the family of the Heranites.
36τῷ Συμαὲρ δῆμος ὁ Συμαερί· καὶ τῷ Ὀφὲρ δῆμος ὁ Ὀφερί·
37These are the kindreds of the sons of Ephraim: whose number was thirty-two thousand five hundred.
37καὶ τῷ Σαλπαὰδ υἱῷ Ὀφὲρ οὐκ ἐγένοντο αὐτῷ υἱοί, ἀλλ' ἢ θυγατέρες, καὶ ταῦτα τὰ ὀνόματα τῶν θυγατέρων Σαλπαάδ· Μαλὰ καὶ Νουὰ καὶ Ἐγλὰ καὶ Μελχὰ καὶ Θερσά.
38These are the sons of Joseph by their families. The sons of Benjamin in their kindreds: Bela, of whom is the family of the Belaites: Asbel, of whom is the family of the Asbelites: Ahiram, of whom is the family of the Ahiramites:
38οὗτοι δῆμοι Μανασσῆ ἐξ ἐπισκέψεως αὐτῶν, δύο καὶ πεντήκοντα χιλιάδες καὶ ἑπτακόσιοι.
39Supham, of whom is the family of the Suphamites: Hupham, of whom is the family of the Huphamites.
39καὶ οὗτοι υἱοὶ Ἐφραίμ· τῷ Σουθαλὰ δῆμος ὁ Σουθαλαΐ· τῷ Τανὰχ δῆμος ὁ Ταναχί.
40The sons of Bela: Hered, and Noeman. Of Hered, is the family of the Heredites: of Noeman, the family of tile Noemanites.
40οὗτοι υἱοὶ Σουθαλά· τῷ Ἐδὲν δῆμος ὁ Ἐδενί.
41These are the sons of Benjamin by their kindreds, whose number was forty-five thousand six hundred.
41οὗτοι δῆμοι Ἐφραὶμ ἐξ ἐπισκέψεως αὐτῶν, δύο καὶ τριάκοντα χιλιάδες καὶ πεντακόσιοι. οὗτοι δῆμοι υἱῶν Ἰωσὴφ κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν.
42The sons of Dan by their kindreds: Suham, of whom is the family of the Suhamites: These are the kindreds of Dan by their families.
42υἱοὶ Βενιαμὶν κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν· τῷ Βαλὲ δῆμος ὁ Βαλί· τῷ Ἀσυβὴρ δῆμος ὁ Ἀσυβηρί· τῷ Ἰαχιρὰν δῆμος ὁ Ἰαχιρανί·
43All were Suhamites, whose number was sixty-four thousand four hundred.
43τῷ Σωφὰν δῆμος ὁ Σωφανί.
44The sons of Aser by their kindreds: Jemna, of whom is the family of the Jemnaites: Jessui, of whom is the family of the Jessuites: Brie, of whom is the family of the Brieites.
44καὶ ἐγένοντο οἱ υἱοὶ Βαλὲ Ἀδὰρ καὶ Νοεμάν· τῷ Ἀδὰρ δῆμος ὁ Ἀδαρὶ καὶ τῷ Νοεμὰν δῆμος ὁ Νοεμανί.
45The sons of Brie: Heber, of whom is the family of the Heberites: and Melchiel, of whom is the family of the Melchielites.
45οὗτοι οἱ υἱοὶ Βενιαμὶν κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν ἐξ ἐπισκέψεως αὐτῶν, πέντε καὶ τριάκοντα χιλιάδες καὶ πεντακόσιοι.
46And the name of the daughter of Aser, was Sara.
46καὶ υἱοὶ Δὰν κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν· τῷ Σαμὲ δῆμος ὁ Σαμεΐ· οὗτοι δῆμοι Δὰν κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν.
47These are the kindreds of the sons of Aser, and their number fifty-three thousand four hundred.
47πάντες οἱ δῆμοι Σαμεΐ κατ' ἐπισκοπὴν αὐτῶν τέσσαρες καὶ ἑξήκοντα χιλιάδες καὶ τετρακόσιοι.
48The sons of Nephtali by their kindreds: Jesiel, of whom is the family of the Jesielites: Guni, of whom is the family of the Gunites:
48υἱοὶ Νεφθαλὶ κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν· τῷ Ἀσιὴλ δῆμος ὁ Ἀσιηλί· τῷ Γαυνὶ δῆμος ὁ Γαυνί·
49Jeser, of whom is the family of the Jeserites: Sellem, of whom is the family of the Sellemites.
49τῷ Ἰεσὲρ δῆμος ὁ Ἰεσερί· τῷ Σελλὴμ δῆμος ὁ Σελλημί.
50These are the kindreds of the sons of Nephtali by their families: whose number was forty-five thousand four hundred.
50οὗτοι δῆμοι Νεφθαλὶ ἐξ ἐπισκέψεως αὐτῶν, τεσσαράκοντα χιλιάδες καὶ τριακόσιοι.
51This is the sum of the children of Israel, that were reckoned up, six hundred and one thousand seven hundred and thirty.
51αὕτη ἡ ἐπίσκεψις υἱῶν Ἰσραήλ, ἑξακόσιαι χιλιάδες καὶ χίλιοι καὶ ἑπτακόσιοι καὶ τριάκοντα.
52And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
52Καὶ ἐλάλησε Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων·
53To these shall the land be divided for their possessions according to the number of names.
53τούτοις μερισθήσεται ἡ γῆ κληρονομεῖν ἐξ ἀριθμοῦ ὀνομάτων·
54To the greater number thou shalt give a greater portion, and to the fewer a less: to every one, as they have now been reckoned up, shall a possession be delivered:
54τοῖς πλείοσι πλεονάσεις τὴν κληρονομίαν καὶ τοῖς ἐλάττοσιν ἐλαττώσεις τὴν κληρονομίαν αὐτῶν· ἑκάστῳ καθὼς ἐπεσκέπησαν, δοθήσεται ἡ κληρονομία αὐτῶν.
55Yet so that by lot the land be divided to the tribe and families.
55διὰ κλήρων μερισθήσεται ἡ γῆ· τοῖς ὀνόμασι, κατὰ φυλὰς πατριῶν αὐτῶν κληρονομήσουσιν·
56Whatsoever shall fall by lot, that shall be taken by the more, or the fewer.
56ἐκ τοῦ κλήρου μεριεῖς τὴν κληρονομίαν αὐτῶν ἀνὰ μέσων πολλῶν καὶ ὀλίγων.
57This also is the number of the sons of Levi by their families: Gerson, of whom is the family of the Gersonites: Caath, of whom is the family of the Caathites: Merari, of whom is the family of the Merarites.
57Καὶ υἱοὶ Λευὶ κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν· τῷ Γεδσὼν δῆμος ὁ Γεδσωνί· τῷ Καὰθ δῆμος ὁ Κααθί· τῷ Μεραρὶ δῆμος ὁ Μεραρί.
58These are the families of Levi: The family of Lobni, the family of Hebroni, the family of Moholi, the family of Musi, the family of Core. Now Caath beget Amram:
58οὗτοι οἱ δῆμοι υἱῶν Λευί· δῆμος ὁ Λοβενί, δῆμος ὁ Χεβρωνί, δῆμος ὁ Κορὲ καὶ δῆμος ὁ Μουσί. καὶ Καὰθ ἐγέννησε τὸν Ἀμράμ.
59Who had to wife Jochabed the daughter of Levi, who was horn to him in Egypt. She bore to her husband Amram sons, Aaron and Moses, and Mary their sister.
59τὸ δέ ὄνομα τῆς γυναικὸς αὐτοῦ Ἰωχαβέδ, θυγάτηρ Λευί, ἣ ἔτεκε τούτους τῷ Λευΐ ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ· καὶ ἔτεκε τῷ Ἀμρὰμ τὸν Ἀαρὼν καὶ Μωυσῆν καὶ Μαριὰμ τὴν ἀδελφὴν αὐτῶν.
60Of Aaron were born Nadab and Abiu, and Eleazar and Ithamar:
60καὶ ἐγεννήθησαν τῷ Ἀαρὼν ὅ τε Ναδὰβ καὶ Ἀβιοὺδ καὶ Ἐλεάζαρ καὶ Ἰθάμαρ.
61Of whom Nadab and Abiu died, when they had offered the strange fire before the Lord.
61καὶ ἀπέθανε Ναδὰβ καὶ Ἀβιοὺδ ἐν τῷ προσφέρειν αὐτοὺς πῦρ ἀλλότριον ἔναντι Κυρίου ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ Σινά.
62And all that were numbered, were twenty-three thousand males from one month old and upward: for they were not reckoned up among the children of Israel, neither was a possession given to them with the rest.
62καὶ ἐγενήθησαν ἐξ ἐπισκέψεως αὐτῶν τρεῖς καὶ εἴκοσι χιλιάδες, πᾶν ἀρσενικὸν ἀπὸ μηνιαίου καὶ ἐπάνω· οὐ γὰρ συνεπεσκέπησαν ἐν μέσῳ υἱῶν Ἰσραήλ, ὅτι οὐ δίδοται αὐτοῖς κλῆρος ἐν μέσῳ υἱῶν Ἰσραήλ.
63This is the number of the children of Israel, that were enrolled by Moses and Eleazar the priest, in the plains of Moab upon the Jordan, over against Jericho.
63καὶ αὕτη ἡ ἐπίσκεψις Μωυσῆ καὶ Ἐλεάζαρ τοῦ ἱερέως, οἳ ἐπεσκέψαντο τοὺς υἱοὺς Ἰσραὴλ ἐν Ἀραβὼθ Μωάβ, ἐπὶ τοῦ Ἰορδάνου κατὰ Ἱεριχώ.
64Among whom there was not one of them that were numbered before by Moses and Aaron in the desert of Sinai.
64καὶ ἐν τούτοις οὐκ ἦν ἄνθρωπος τῶν ἐπεσκεμμένων ὑπὸ Μωυσῆ καὶ Ἀαρών, οὓς ἐπεσκέψαντο τοὺς υἱοὺς Ἰσραὴλ ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ Σινά·
65For the Lord had foretold that they should die in the wilderness. And none remained of them, but Caleb the son of Jephone, and Josue the son of Nun.
65ὅτι εἶπε Κύριος αὐτοῖς· θανάτῳ ἀποθανοῦνται ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ· καὶ οὐ κατελείφθη ἐξ αὐτῶν οὐδὲ εἷς, πλὴν Χάλεβ υἱὸς Ἰεφοννὴ καὶ Ἰησοῦς ὁ τοῦ Ναυή.
