1The Word of the Lord that came to Jeremias concerning the words of the drought.
1Khokang ol dongah BOEIPA ol he Jeremiah taengla pawk.
2Judea hath mourned, and the gates thereof are fallen, and are become obscure on the ground, and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up.
2Judah te nguekcoi tih a vongka khaw tahah coeng. Khohmuen ham khaw kopang uh tih Jerusalem kah henah tah luei coeng.
3The great ones sent their inferiors to the water: they came to draw, they found no water, they carried back their vessels empty: they were confounded and afflicted, and covered their heads.
3Amih khuikah aka khuet rhoek loh a canoi rhoek te tui taengla a tueih uh. Tuito taengla pawk uh dae tui hmu uh pawh. A am hong neh a mael uh vaengah yak uh tih a hmaithae neh a lu a yil uh.
4For the destruction of the land, because there came no rain upon the earth, the husbandmen were confounded, they covered their heads.
4Diklai ah khonal om pawt tih lai a yawk kong ah, lopho rhoek yak uh tih a lu a yil uh.
5Yea, the hind also brought forth in the field, and left it, because there was no grass.
5Sayuk rhuinu long pataeng khaw lohma ah ca a cun dae baelhing a om pawt dongah a hnoo.
6And the wild asses stood upon the rocks, they snuffed up the wind like dragons, their eyes failed, because there was no grass.
6Kohong marhang rhoek caphoei cuk ah pai uh tih pongui bangla yilh a mam. Baelhing om pawt tih a mik kha uh.
7If our iniquities have testified against us, O Lord, do thou it for thy name’s sake, for our rebellions are many, we have sinned against thee.
7Kaimih kathaesainah loh kaimih taengah n'doo uh cakhaw BOEIPA aw namah taengah ka hnuknong uh khing tih ka tholh uh dongah he na ming ham mah saii mai.
8O expectation of Israel, the Saviour thereof in time of trouble: why wilt thou be a stranger in the land, and as a wayfaring man turning in to lodge?
8Israel kah ngaiuepnah neh citcai tue vaengah anih kah khangkung aw, balae tih diklai ah yinlai neh rhaeh hamla aka rhaehba yiin bangla na om.
9Why wilt thou be as a wandering man, as a mighty man that cannot save? but thou, O Lord, art among us, and thy name is called upon by us, forsake us not.
9BOEIPA kaimih lakli ah tah namah khaw balae tih hlang ingang bangla, khang ham aka coeng pawh hlangrhalh bangla na om? Tedae kaimih taengah na ming a khue dongah kaimih nan hnoo moenih.
10Thus saith the Lord to his people, that have loved to move their feet, and have not rested, and have not pleased the Lord: He will now remember their iniquities, and visit their sins.
10BOEIPA loh he pilnam ham he ni a thui. Amih kho tah poengdoe ham a lungnah uh tangloeng tih tuemsoem uh pawh. BOEIPA loh amih a moeithen pawt dongah amih kathaesainah te a poek vetih a tholhnah te a cawh pawn ni.
11And the Lord said to me: Pray not for this people for their good.
11Tedae BOEIPA loh kai taengah, “Hnothen ham akhaw he pilnam ham tah thangthui boeh.
12When they fast I will not hear their prayers: and if they offer holocausts and victims, I will not receive them: for I will consume them by the sword, and by famine, and by the pestilence.
12A yaeh uh vaengkah a tamlung te ka hnatun moenih. Hmueihhlutnah neh khocang a khuen uh vaengah amih te ka moeithen moenih. Tedae amih te cunghang neh, khokha neh, duektahaw neh ka khah,” a ti.
13And I said: Ah, ah, ah, O Lord God, the prophets say to them: You shall not see the sword, and there shall be no famine among you, but he will give you true peace in this place.
13Tedae, “Ya-oe, ka Boeipa Yahovah, amih taengah cunghang na hmu pawt vetih nangmih taengah khokha pai mahpawh, he hmuen ah nangmih ham ngaimongnah oltak kam paek ni, ' aka ti tonghma aih ke,” ka ti nah.
14And the Lord said to me: The prophets prophesy falsely in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, nor have I spoken to them: they prophesy unto you a lying vision, and divination and deceit, and the seduction of their own heart.
14Te dongah BOEIPA loh kamah taengah, “Laithae tonghma rhoek loh ka ming neh tonghma uh. Amih te ka tueih pawt tih amih te ka uen moenih. Laithae mangthui neh olhong bihma, a huep mueirhol, amih te ka thui pah moenih. Tedae amih loh amamih lungbuei kah a huep nen ni nangmih taengah a tonghma uh,” a ti.
15Therefore thus saith the Lord concerning the prophets that prophecy in my name, whom I did not send, that say: Sword and famine shall not be in this land: By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed.
15Te dongah BOEIPA loh he ni a thui. Ka ming neh aka tonghma, tonghma rhoek, amih te ka tueih moenih. Tedae amih loh, 'He diklai ah cunghang neh khokha om mahpawh,’ a ti uh. Tekah tonghma rhoek tah cunghang neh, khokha neh cung bitni.
16And the people to whom they prophecy, shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword, and there shall be none to bury them: they and their wives, their sons and their daughters, and I will pour out their wickedness upon them.
16Pilnam loh amih taengah aka tonghma rhoek Jerusalem vongvoel kah a voeih rhoek la om uh ni. Khokha neh cunghang dongah amih te aka up khaw om mahpawh. Amih te a yuu rhoek khaw, a capa rhoek khaw, a canu rhoek te khaw amamih kah boethae te amamih soah ka lun ni.
17And thou shalt speak this word to them: Let my eyes shed down tears night and day, and let them not cease, because the virgin daughter of my people is afflicted with a great affliction, with an exceeding grievous evil.
17He ol he amih taengah thui pah. Ka mik dongkah mikphi he khoyin khothaih suntla saeh lamtah kak boel saeh. Ka pilnam tanu oila tah, hma puei dongah khaem coeng tih hmasoe la nue khungdaeng coeng.
18If I go forth into the fields, behold the slain with the sword: and if I enter into the city, behold them that are consumed with famine. The prophet also and the priest are gone into a land which they knew not.
18Khohmuen te ka paan vaengah nim cunghang dongkah rhok hoeng ni ke. Khopuei la ka caeh bal nim te khokha kah tlohtat hoeng ni ke. Tonghma neh khosoih loh diklai ah a thimpom rhoi akhaw a ming rhoi moenih.
19Hast thou utterly cast away Juda, or hath thy soul abhorred Sion? why then hast thou struck us, so that there is no healing for us? we have looked for peace, and there is no good: and for the time of healing, and behold trouble.
19Judah te na hnawt na hnawt tih Zion te na hinglu loh a tuei nama? Balae tih kaimih taengah hoeihnah om pawt ham kaimih nan ngawn? Sadingnah te lamtawn dae then voel pawh. Te dongah hoeihnah tue te khaw letnah coeng ni he.
20We acknowledge, O Lord, our wickedness, the iniquities of our fathers, because we have sinned against thee.
20BOEIPA aw kaimih kah halangnah neh a pa rhoek kathaesainah neh namah taengah ka tholh uh te ka ming uh.
21Give us not to be a reproach, for thy name’s sake, and do not disgrace in us the throne of thy glory: remember, break not thy covenant with us.
21Na ming ham tah tlaitlaek boeh, na thangpomnah ngolkhoel te tahah sak boeh. Poek van lah, kaimih taengkah na paipi te phae boeh.
22Are there any among the graven things of the Gentiles that can send rain? or can the heavens give showers? art not thou the Lord our God, whom we have looked for? for thou hast made all these things.
22Namtom kah a honghi taengah kho nal om tih vaan long khaw mueitui a paek nim? Kaimih kah BOEIPA Pathen amah khaw nang moenih a? Te dongah nang soah kan lamtawn uh tih he boeih he namah ham ni na saii.
