1Ephraim feedeth on the wind, and followeth the burning heat: all the day long he multiplied lies and desolation: and he hath made a covenant with the Assyrians, and carried oil into Egypt.
1Ma nukewa mwet Israel uh oru ke lotutang lac nwe ke fong uh, wangin sripa ac mwe na kunausten. Kutasrik ac orekma sulallal yokelik inmasrlolos. Elos orek wulela yurin mwet Assyria, ac kukakin oil in olive nu sin mwet Egypt.”
2Therefore there is a judgment of the Lord with Juda, and a visitation for Jacob: he will render to him according to his ways, and according to his devices.
2LEUM GOD El ac fahkak ma sutuu lun mwet Judah; El ac oayapa kai mwet Israel ke ouiyen mukuikui lalos. El ac folokin nu selos fal nu ke orekma lalos.
3In the womb he supplanted his brother: and by his strength he had success with an angel.
3Jacob, papa matu tumalos, el tuh alein nu sel Esau, tamulel lal, ke eltal srakna oan insien nina kialtal. Ke Jacob el matula, el anwuk lain God.
4And he prevailed over the angel, and was strengthened: he wept, and made supplication to him: he found him in Bethel, and there he spoke with us.
4El anwuk nu sin sie lipufan ac katangulla. El tung ac siyuk ke sie mwe insewowo. In acn Bethel God El tuku nu yurin papa matu tumasr Jacob, ac kaskas nu sel.
5Even the Lord the God of hosts, the Lord is his memorial.
5LEUM GOD Kulana pa inge — Inel pa LEUM GOD .
6Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and hope in thy God always.
6Ouinge, kowos fwilin tulik natul Jacob, kowos in lulalfongi God lowos, ac foloko nu yorol. Kowos in inse pwaye nu sel ac oru ma suwohs, ac mongfisrasr in tupan God lowos.
7He is like Chanaan, there is a deceitful balance in his hand, he hath loved oppression.
7LEUM GOD El fahk, “Mwet Israel elos kikiap oana mwet Canaan. Elos lungsena orekmakin mwe paun kikiap nu sin mwet ma som moul yorolos.
8And Ephraim said: But yet I am become rich, I have found me an idol: all my labours shall not find me the iniquity that I have committed.
8Elos fahk, ‘Kut kasrup. Kut eis mwe insewowo puspis, ac wangin mwet ku in fahk mu kut kasrupi ke inkanek kutasrik.’
9And I that am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, will yet cause thee to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the feast.
9Tusruktu nga, LEUM GOD lowos, su pwenkowosla liki Egypt, nga ac sifilpa oru kowos in muta in lohm nuknuk oana ke pacl se nga tuh sun kowos yen mwesis.
10And I have spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and I have used similitudes by the ministry of the prophets.
10“Nga sramsram nu sin mwet palu, ac sang elos in liye aruruma puspis, ac sang kas in sensenkakin nu selos in fahkak nu sin mwet luk.
11If Galaad be an idol, then in vain were they in Galgal offering sacrifices with bullocks: for their altars also are as heaps in the furrows of the field.
11Ne ouinge, elos srakna alu nu ke ma sruloala in acn Gilead, ac elos su alu nu kac fah misa. Cow mukul uh kisakinyuk in acn Gilgal, na loang in kisa we fah yolin eot se na inima uh.”
12Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and was a keeper for a wife.
12Papa matu tumasr, Jacob, el tuh enenu in kaing nu Mesopotamia, na el tuh orekma lun siena mukul ac liyaung sheep natul tuh elan ku in eis sie mutan kial.
13But the Lord by a prophet brought Israel out of Egypt: and he was preserved by a prophet.
13LEUM GOD El supwala sie mwet palu in molela mwet Israel liki moul in kohs lalos in facl Egypt, ac in karinganulosyang.
14Ephraim hath provoked me to wrath with his bitterness, and his blood shall come upon him, and his Lord will render his reproach unto him.
14Mwet Israel elos arulana akkasrkusrakye LEUM GOD , ac fal na elos in misa ke sripen orekma koluk lalos. LEUM GOD El fah kaelos ke sripen elos aklusrongtenyal.
