1And at the end of twenty years after Solomon had built the house of the Lord and his own house:
1ORA in capo de' vent'anni, ne' quali Salomone avea edificata la Casa del Signore e la sua,
2He built the cities which Hiram had given to Solomon, and caused the children of Israel to dwell there.
2Salomone riedificò le città che Huram gli avea date, e vi fece abitare de' figliuoli d'Israele.
3He went also into Emath Suba, and possessed it.
3Poi Salomone andò in Hamat di Soba, e l'occupò.
4And he built Palmira in the desert, and he built other strong cities in Emath.
4Ed edificò Tadmor nel deserto, insieme con tutte le città da magazzini, le quali egli edificò in Hamat.
5And he built Beth-horon the upper, and Beth-horon the nether, walled cities with Rates and bars and locks.
5Riedificò anche Bet-horon disopra, e Bet-horon disotto, città forti di mura, di porte, e di sbarre.
6Balaath also and all the strong cities that were Solomon’s, and all the cities of the chariots, and the cities of the horsemen. All that Solomon had a mind, and designed, he built in Jerusalem and in Libanus, and in all the land of his dominion.
6Riedificò ancora Baalat, e tutte le città de' suoi magazzini, e tutte le città dove erano i carri, e quelle dove stavano le genti a cavallo; ed in somma , tutto ciò ch'egli ebbe desiderio di edificare in Gerusalemme, e nel Libano, ed in tutto il paese della sua signoria.
7All the people that were left of the Hethites, and the Amorrhites, and the Pherezites, and the Hevites, and the Jebusites, that were not of the stock of Israel:
7E Salomone fece tributario tutto il popolo ch'era rimasto degli Hittei, e degli Amorrei, e de' Ferizzei, e degli Hivvei, e de' Gebusei, i quali non erano d'Israele;
8Of their children, and of the posterity, whom the children of Israel had not slain, Solomon made to be the tributaries, unto this day.
8cioè , de' figliuoli di coloro che erano rimasti dopo loro nel paese, i quali i figliuoli d'Israele non aveano distrutti; e son rimasti tributari infino a questo giorno.
9But of the children of Israel he set none to serve in the king’s works: for they were men of war, and chief captains, and rulers of his chariots and horsemen.
9Ma d'infra i figliuoli d'Israele, i quali Salomone non fece servi, per lavorare a' suoi lavori (perciocchè essi erano uomini di guerra, e colonnelli de' suoi capitani, e capi de' suoi carri, e della sua cavalleria);
10And all the chief captains of king Solomon’s army were two hundred and fifty, who taught the people.
10costoro furono capi de' commissari del re Salomone, cioè: dugencinquanta, i quali aveano il reggimento di quella gente.
11And he removed the daughter of Pharao from the city of David, to the house which he had built for her. For the king said: My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, for it is sanctified: because the ark of the Lord came into it.
11Or Salomone fece salire la figliuola di Faraone dalla città di Davide, nella casa ch'egli le avea edificata; perciocchè disse: La mia moglie non abiterà nella casa di Davide, re d'Israele; perciocchè i luoghi , ne' quali l'Arca del Signore è entrata, son santi.
12Then Solomon offered holocausts to the Lord upon the altar of the Lord which he had built before the porch,
12Allora Salomone offerse olocausti al Signore, sopra l'Altar del Signore, il quale egli avea edificato davanti al portico.
13That every day an offering might be made on it according to the ordinance of Moses, in the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the festival days three times a year, that is to say, in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles.
13Egli offeriva eziandio di giorno in giorno ciò che si conveniva offerire secondo il comandamento di Mosè, nei sabati, e nelle calendi, e nelle feste solenni, tre volte l'anno; nella festa degli azzimi, e nella festa delle settimane, e nella festa de' tabernacoli.
14And he appointed according to the order of David his father the offices of the priests in their ministries: and the Levites in their order to give praise, and minister before the priests according to the duty of every day: and the porters in their divisions by gate and gate: for so David the man of God had commanded.
14E costituì, secondo l'ordine di Davide, suo padre, i sacerdoti nel lor ministerio, secondo i loro spartimenti; ed i Leviti ne' loro uffici, per lodare il Signore , e per ministrar davanti a' sacerdoti, secondo che si conveniva fare per ciascun giorno; e i portinai, secondo i loro spartimenti per ciascuna porta; perciocchè tale era stato il comandamento di Davide, uomo di Dio.
15And the priests and Levites departed not from the king’s commandments, as to any thing that he had commanded, and as to the keeping of the treasures.
15Ei non si deviò punto dal comandamento del re, intorno a' sacerdoti, ed a' Leviti, nè intorno ad alcun' altra cosa, nè intorno a' tesori.
16Solomon had all charges prepared, from the day that he founded the house of the Lord, until the day wherein he finished it.
16Ora l'apparecchio di tutta l'opera di Salomone era già fatto, dal giorno che la Casa del Signore fu fondata, finchè fu compiuta. E quando la Casa del Signore fu finita,
17Then Solomon went to Asiongaber, and to Ailath, on the coast of the Red Sea, which is in the land of Edom.
17allora Salomone andò in Esion-gheber, ed in Elot, in sul lito del mare, nel paese di Edom.
18And Hiram sent him ships by the hands of his servants, and skillful mariners, and they went with Solomon’s servants to Ophir, and they took thence four hundred and fifty talents of gold, and brought it to king Solomon.
18E Huram gli mandò, per i suoi servitori, materie da far navi, e marinari intendenti; i quali andarono, co' servitori di Salomone, in Ofir, e tolsero di là trecencinquanta talenti d'oro, e li condussero al re Salomone.
