1Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers dispersed through Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, elect,
1ⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⳿ⲡⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓⲥⲱⲧⲡ ⲉⲧϣⲟⲡ ϩⲓ ⳿ⲡϣⲉⲙⲙⲟ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓϫⲱⲣ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲟⲛⲧⲟⲥ ⳿ⲧⲅⲁⲗⲁⲧⲓⲁ ⳿ⲧⲕⲁⲡⲡⲟⲇⲟⲕⲓⲁ ϯⲁⲥⲓⲁ ⲛⲉⲙ ϯⲃⲏⲑⲁⲛⲓ⳿ⲁ.
2According to the foreknowledge of God the Father, unto the sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you and peace be multiplied.
2ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲟⲩϣⲟⲣⲡ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⳿ⲫⲓⲱⲧ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲧⲟⲩⲃⲟ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⲉⲩⲥⲱϯ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩϫϧ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲡ⳿ⲥⲛⲟϥ ⳿ⲛⲒⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲡⲉⲛ⳪ ⳿ⲡ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲉⲙ ϯϩⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲁϣⲁⲓ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ.
3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy hath regenerated us unto a lively hope, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
3⳿ϥ⳿ⲥⲙⲁⲣⲱⲟⲩⲧ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲫϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲫⲓⲱⲧ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲛ⳪ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⳿ⲡ⳿ⲁϣⲁⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲉϥⲛⲁⲓ ⲁϥ⳿ϫⲫⲟⲛ ⳿ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ⳿ⲛⲱⲛϧ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡⲧⲱⲛϥ ⳿ⲛⲒⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲏⲉⲑⲙⲱⲟⲩⲧ.
4Unto an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that can not fade, reserved in heaven for you,
4⳿ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩ⳿ⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲓⲁ ⳿ⲛⲁⲧⲧⲁⲕⲟ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲁⲧϭⲱϧⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲁⲧⲗⲱⲙ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲁⲣⲉϩ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲓⲫⲏⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ.
5Who, by the power of God, are kept by faith unto salvation, ready to be revealed in the last time.
5ⲁ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲟⲩⲣⲱⲓⲥ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩϫⲟⲙ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲫⲛⲁϩϯ ⲉⲩⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ⲉϥⲥⲉⲃⲧⲱⲧ ⲉϥⲛⲁϭⲱⲣⲡ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲓⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϧⲁ⳿ⲉ.
6Wherein you shall greatly rejoice, if now you must be for a little time made sorrowful in divers temptations:
6ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁⲑⲉⲗⲏⲗ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧϥ ⳿ⲡⲣⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲕⲟⲩϫⲓ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⳿ⲥϣⲉ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛϭⲓ⳿ⲙⲕⲁϩ ⳿ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ϩⲁⲛⲡⲓⲣⲁⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲙⲏϣ ⳿ⲛⲣⲏϯ.
7That the trial of your faith (much more precious than gold which is tried by the fire) may be found unto praise and glory and honour at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
7ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲑⲙⲉⲧⲥⲱⲧⲡ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁϩϯ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉⲥⲧⲁⲓⲏⲟⲩⲧ ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲛⲟⲩⲃ ⲫⲏⲉⲑⲛⲁⲧⲁⲕⲟ ⲉⲩⲉⲣⲇⲟⲕⲓⲙⲁⲍⲓⲛ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲭⲣⲱⲙ ⳿ⲛⲧⲟⲩϫⲉⲙ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩϣⲟⲩϣⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲧⲁⲓⲟ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓϭⲱⲣⲡ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅.
8Whom having not seen, you love: in whom also now, though you see him not, you believe: and believing shall rejoice with joy unspeakable and glorified;
8ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲁⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣⲁⲅⲁⲡⲁⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲫⲁⲓ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁϩϯ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲑⲉⲗⲏ ⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲣⲁϣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲁⲧ⳿ϣⲥⲁϫⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⳿ⲉⲁϥϭⲓⲱⲟⲩ.
9Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
9ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛϭⲓ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲡϫⲱⲕ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁϩϯ ⳿ⲫⲛⲟϩⲉⲙ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲯⲩⲭⲏ.
10Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and diligently searched, who prophesied of the grace to come in you.
10ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲫⲁⲓ ⲛⲟϩⲉⲙ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲩⲕⲱϯ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩϧⲟⲧϧⲉⲧ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲁⲩⲉⲣ⳿ⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏ ⲧⲉⲩⲓⲛ ϧⲁ ⲡⲓ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲉⲧⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ.
11Searching what or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ in them did signify: when it foretold those sufferings that are in Christ, and the glories that should follow:
11ⲉⲩϧⲟⲧϧⲉⲧ ⳿ⲛⲥⲁ ⲡⲓⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲁ ⲡⲓⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲥⲁϫⲓ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲁⲩⲉⲣϣⲟⲣⲡ ⳿ⲛⲉⲣⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ ϧⲁ ⲛⲓ⳿ⲙⲕⲁⲩϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲑⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲙⲉⲛⲉⲛⲥⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ.
12To whom it was revealed, that not to themselves, but to you they ministered those things which are now declared to you by them that have preached the gospel to you, the Holy Ghost being sent down from heaven, on whom the angels desire to look.
12ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲁⲩϭⲱⲣⲡ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϫⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ⳿ⲓⲣⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲁⲩⲉⲣⲇⲓ⳿ⲁⲕⲱⲛⲓⲛ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲛⲁⲓ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲧⲁⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲛⲏⲉⲧⲁⲩϩⲓϣⲉⲛⲛⲟⲩϥⲓ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲁⲃ ⳿ⲉⲁⲩⲟⲩⲟⲣⲡϥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲧⲫⲉ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ϩⲁⲛⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲉⲣ⳿ⲉⲡⲓⲑⲩⲙⲓⲛ ⳿ⲉⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ.
13Wherefore having the loins of your mind girt up, being sober, trust perfectly in the grace which is offered you in the revelation of Jesus Christ,
13ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲫⲁⲓ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛϧⲉⲕ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ϩⲓϫⲉⲛ ⲛⲓϯⲡⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲣⲏⲥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩϫⲱⲕ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲣⲓϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ⳿ⲉⲡⲓ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲛⲁ⳿ⲉⲛϥ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓϭⲱⲣⲡ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅.
14As children of obedience, not fashioned according to the former desires of your ignorance:
14⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛϩⲁⲛϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲡⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϣⲫⲏⲣ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲥⲙⲟⲧ ⲁⲛ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲓⲉⲡⲓⲑⲩⲙⲓⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲛⲏ ⲉⲛⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛ⳿ⲓⲣⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲁⲧ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ.
15But according to him that hath called you, who is holy, be you also in all manner of conversation holy:
15ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲙⲫⲏⲉⲧⲁϥⲑⲁϩⲉⲙ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩⲁⲅⲓⲟⲥ ⲡⲉ ϣⲱⲡⲓ ϩⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲁⲃ ϧⲉⲛ ϫⲓⲛⲙⲟϣⲓ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ.
16Because it is written: You shall be holy, for I am holy.
16ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲏⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⳿ⲥ⳿ⲥϧⲏⲟⲩⲧ ϫⲉ ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲁⲃ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ϩⲱ ϯⲟⲩⲁⲃ.
17And if you invoke as Father him who, without respect of persons, judgeth according to every one’s work: converse in fear during the time of your sojourning here.
17ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲫⲏⲉⲑⲛⲁϯϩⲁⲡ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲁⲧϫⲟⲩϣⲧ ⳿ⲉϩⲟ ⳿ⲉⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲛⲉϥ⳿ϩⲃⲏⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁⲙⲟⲩϯ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲓⲱⲧ ⲡⲓⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲙⲉⲧⲣⲉⲙ⳿ⲛϫⲱⲓⲗⲓ ⲙⲟϣⲓ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧϥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩϩⲟϯ.
18Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things as gold or silver, from your vain conversation of the tradition of your fathers:
18ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲥⲉⲧ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩⲃ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩϩⲁⲧ ⲛⲏⲉⲑⲛⲁⲧⲁⲕⲟ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲁ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛϫⲓⲛⲙⲟϣⲓ ⲉⲧϣⲟⲩⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲧⲏ ⲓϥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲓⲟϯ.
19But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb unspotted and undefiled,
19ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲥⲉⲧ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲉϥⲧⲁⲓⲏⲟⲩⲧ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩϩⲓⲏⲃ ⳿ⲛⲁⲧⲁϭⲛⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲁⲧⲑⲱⲗⲉⲃ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅.
20Foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but manifested in the last times for you,
20⳿ⲉⲁⲩⲉⲣϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲙⲉⲛ ⳿ⲛⲥⲟⲩⲱⲛϥ ⲓⲥϫⲉⲛ ⳿ⲧⲕⲁⲧⲁⲃⲟⲗⲏ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⳿ⲉⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲡϧⲁ⳿ⲉ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ.
21Who through him are faithful in God, who raised him up from the dead, and hath given him glory, that your faith and hope might be in God.
21ⲛⲏⲉⲑⲛⲁϩϯ ⳿ⲉⲫϯ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲧϥ ⳿ⲙⲫⲏⲉⲧⲁϥⲧⲟⲩⲛⲟⲥϥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲏⲉⲑⲙⲱⲟⲩⲧ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥϯⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲁϥ ϩⲱⲥⲧⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁϩϯ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲟⲩϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲫϯ.
22Purifying your souls in the obedience of charity, with a brotherly love, from a sincere heart love one another earnestly:
22ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲧⲟⲩⲃⲟ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲯⲩⲭⲏ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϯⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲙⲁⲓⲥⲟⲛ ⳿ⲛⲁⲧⲙⲉⲧϣⲟⲃⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩϩⲏⲧ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲁⲃ ⲙⲉⲛⲣⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣⲏⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ.
23Being born again not of corruptible seed, but incorruptible, by the word of God who liveth and remaineth for ever.
23⳿ⲉⲁⲩⲙⲉⲥ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩϫⲓⲛⲥⲓϯ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲑⲛⲁⲧⲁⲕⲟ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲁⲧⲧⲁⲕⲟ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲧϥ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲥⲁϫⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⲉⲧⲟⲛϧ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧϣⲟⲡ.
24For all flesh is as grass; and all the glory thereof as the flower of grass. The grass is withered, and the flower thereof is fallen away.
24ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲏⲓ ⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲁⲩ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲱⲟⲩⲃⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉⲥⲱⲟⲩ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲁⲥ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲥⲱⲟⲩⲃⲉⲛ ⲁϥϣⲱⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲡⲓⲥⲱⲟⲩⲃⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲥϩⲉⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲧⲉϥ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲣⲓ.
25But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel hath been preached unto you.
25ⲡⲓⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ Ⲡ⳪ ϣⲟⲡ ϣⲁ ⲉⲛⲉϩ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲓⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲉⲧⲁⲩϩⲓⲱⲓϣ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ
