1ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲛⲓ⳿ⲭⲣⲟⲛⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲓⲕⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⲛⲓ⳿ⲥⲛⲏ ⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣ⳿ⲭⲣⲓⲁ ⲁⲛ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲥϧⲁⲓ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ.
1Now about the times and seasons, brothers, we do not need to write to you.
2⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲕⲣⲓⲃⲱⲥ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲡ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙⲠ⳪ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲣⲉϥϭⲓⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲉϫⲱⲣϩ ⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲡⲉⲧⲉϥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ.
2For you are fully aware that the Day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
3ⲉϣⲱⲡ ⲁⲩϣⲁⲛϫⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲧϩⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲡⲧⲁϫⲣⲟ ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲉⲝⲁⲡⲓⲛⲁ ⲉϥ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲧⲁⲕⲟ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛϯⲛⲁⲕϩⲓ ⳿ⲉϣⲁⲥ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉⲑⲏ ⲉⲧⲉ⳿ⲙⲃⲟⲕⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲛⲟⲩ⳿ϣⲫⲱⲧ.
3While people are saying, “Peace and security,” destruction will come upon them suddenly, like labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
4⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲛ⳿ⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲭⲏ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡⲭⲁⲕⲓ ⲁⲛ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲧⲁϩⲉ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛϩⲁⲛⲣⲉϥϭⲓⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ.
4But you, brothers, are not in the darkness so that this day should overtake you like a thief.
5⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϩⲁⲛϣⲏ ⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲫⲟⲩⲱⲓⲛⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ϩⲁⲛϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲇⲁ ⲛⲁ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲉϫⲱⲣϩ ⲁⲛ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲛⲁ ⳿ⲡⲭⲁⲕⲓ ⲁⲛ.
5For you are all sons of the light and sons of the day; we do not belong to the night or to the darkness.
6ϩⲁⲣⲁ ⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲛ⳿ⲑⲣⲉⲛⲉⲛⲕⲟⲧ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲡⲕⲉⲥⲉⲡⲓ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲙⲁⲣⲉⲛⲣⲱⲓⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣⲛⲓⲙⲫⲓⲛ.
6So then, let us not sleep as the others do, but let us remain awake and sober.
7ⲛⲏ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲧⲉⲛⲕⲟⲧ ⲁⲩⲉⲛⲕⲟⲧ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲉϫⲱⲣϩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲑⲁϧⲓ ⲁⲩⲑⲁϧⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲉϫⲱⲣϩ.
7For those who sleep, sleep at night; and those who get drunk, get drunk at night.
8⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲛⲁ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲁⲣⲉⲛⲉⲣⲛⲓⲙⲫⲓⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲛϯ ϩⲓⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲛϯϧⲉⲗⲓⲃϣ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲛⲁϩϯ ⲛⲉⲙ ϯⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ⲛⲉⲙ ϯⲡⲉⲣⲓⲕⲉⲫⲁⲗⲉⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϯϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ.
8But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and the helmet of our hope of salvation.
9ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲁ ⲫϯ ⲭⲁⲛ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲩϫⲱⲛⲧ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲩⲧⲁⲛϧⲟ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉⲛ⳪ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅.
9For God has not appointed us to suffer wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
10ⲫⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲙⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲱⲛ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲓⲧⲉ ⲉⲛⲣⲏⲥ ⳿ⲓⲧⲉ ⲉⲛⲉⲛⲕⲟⲧ ⲉⲛ⳿ⲉⲱⲛϧ ⲛⲉⲙⲁϥ ⲉⲩⲥⲟⲡ.
10He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with Him.
11ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲫⲁⲓ ⲙⲁⲛⲟⲙϯ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣⲏⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲙⲁⲣⲉ ⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲕⲉⲧ ⲡⲉϥ⳿ϣⲫⲏⲣ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲟⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛ⳿ⲓⲣⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ.
11Therefore encourage and build one another up, just as you are already doing.
12ⲧⲉⲛϯϩⲟ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉⲛ⳿ⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ⳿ⲉⲛⲏⲉⲧϧⲟⲥⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲏⲉⲧ ⲭⲏ ϧⲁϫⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϧⲉⲛ Ⲡ⳪ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲏⲉⲧϯ⳿ⲥⲃⲱ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ.
12But we ask you, brothers, to acknowledge those who work diligently among you, who preside over you in the Lord and give you instruction.
13ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲭⲁⲩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲡⲟⲩϩⲱⲃ ⲁⲣⲓϩⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ.
13In love, hold them in highest regard because of their work. Live in peace with one another.
14ⲧⲉⲛϯϩⲟ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉⲛ⳿ⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲙⲁ⳿ⲥⲃⲱ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓⲁⲧ⳿ⲥⲃⲱ ⲙⲁⲛⲟⲙϯ ⳿ⲛⲛⲏⲉⲧⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛⲕⲟⲩϫⲓ ⳿ⲛϩⲏⲧ ϣⲱⲡ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲏⲉⲧϣⲱⲛⲓ ⲱⲟⲩ⳿ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ.
14And we urge you, brothers, to admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, and be patient with everyone.
15⳿ⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲛ⳿ⲑⲣⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ϯ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲡⲉⲧϩⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲧϣⲉⲃⲓⲱ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲡⲉⲧϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⳿ⲛⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ϭⲟϫⲓ ⳿ⲛⲥⲁ ⲡⲓⲡⲉⲑⲛⲁⲛⲉϥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣⲏⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ.
15Make sure that no one repays evil for evil. Always pursue what is good for one another and for all people.
16ⲣⲁϣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ.
16Rejoice at all times.
17ⲧⲱⲃϩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲁⲧⲙⲟⲩⲛⲕ.
17Pray without ceasing.
18ϣⲉⲡ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ϧⲉⲛ ϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲫⲟⲩⲱϣ ⳿ⲙⲫϯ ϧⲉⲛ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ϧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ.
18Give thanks in every circumstance, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
19ⲡⲓⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲣⲟϣⲙⲉϥ.
19Do not extinguish the Spirit.
20ⲛⲓ⳿ⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲓ⳿ⲁ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲣϣⲟϣϥⲟⲩ.
20Do not treat prophecies with contempt,
21ϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲁⲣⲓⲇⲟⲕⲓⲙⲁⲍⲓⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲡⲓⲡⲉⲑⲛⲁⲛⲉϥ ⳿ⲁⲙⲟⲛⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ.
21but test all things. Hold fast to what is good.
22ϩⲉⲛⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲁ ϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲧϩⲱⲟⲩ.
22Abstain from every form of evil.
23⳿ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲫϯ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϯϩⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲉϥ⳿ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲃⲉ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲥⲟⲡ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛϫⲏⲕ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉϥ⳿ⲉⲁⲣⲉϩ ⳿ⲉⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲟϫ ⲛⲉⲙ ϯⲯⲩⲭⲏ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲓⲥⲱⲙⲁ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲁⲧⲁⲣⲓⲕⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲧⲡⲁⲣⲟⲩⲥⲓⲁ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲛ⳪ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅.
23Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely, and may your entire spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24⳿ϥⲉⲛϩⲟⲧ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲑⲱϩⲉⲙ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ϥⲛⲁ⳿ⲓⲣⲓ ⲟⲛ.
24The One who calls you is faithful, and He will do it.
25ⲛⲉⲛ⳿ⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲧⲱⲃϩ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲱⲛ.
25Brothers, pray for us as well.
26ⲁⲣⲓⲁⲥⲡⲁⲍⲉⲥⲑⲉ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣⲏⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲫⲓ ⲉⲥⲟⲩⲁⲃ.
26Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss.
27ϯⲧⲁⲣⲕⲟ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲉⲠ⳪ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲑⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉϣ ⲧⲁⲓⲉⲡⲓⲥⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓⲁⲅⲓⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ.
27I charge you before the Lord to have this letter read to all the brothers.
28⳿ⲡ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲛ⳪ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲛⲉⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲁⲙⲏⲛ ⳿ⲡⲣⲟⲥ ⲑⲉⲥⲥⲁⲗⲟⲛⲓⲕⲏ ⲁ̅ ⲁⲩ⳿ⲥϧⲏⲧⲥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲁⲑⲏⲛⲛⲁⲥ ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲟⲣⲡⲥ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲛ ⲥⲓⲗⲟⲩⲁⲛⲟⲥ
28The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
