Bible Mutal (Kosraean)
1When Jesus saw the crowds, He went up on the mountain and sat down. His disciples came to Him,
2and He began to teach them, saying:
2ac el mutawauk in luti nu sin mwet uh ac fahk:
3“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
3“Insewowo elos su sukasrup in ngun; Tuh Tokosrai lun kusrao ma lalos!
4Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
4“Insewowo elos su asor, Tuh elos fah pwarak!
5Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
5“Insewowo elos su fakpap, Tuh faclu fah ma lalos.
6Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
6“Insewowo elos su masrinsral ac malukin ma suwoswos, Tuh elos fah kihp!
7Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
7“Insewowo elos su pakomuta; Tuh elos fah eis pakomuta!
8Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
8“Insewowo elos su nasnas insialos; Tuh elos fah liye God!
9Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
9“Insewowo elos su akiwe mwet uh; Tuh pangpang elos tulik nutin God!
10Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
10“Insewowo elos su kalyeiyuk ke ma suwoswos; Tuh Tokosrai lun kusrao ma lalos.
11Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.
11“Insewowo kowos ke mwet akangonye kowos, ac kalyei kowos, ac fahk kain koluk nukewa lain kowos in kikiap keik.
12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets before you.
12Kowos enganak ac arulana insewowo, tuh yohk ma lacne lowos inkusrao; tuh ouinge elos kalyei mwet palu su muta meet liki kowos.
13You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its savor, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
13“Kowos sohl lun faclu. Tuh fin wanginla eman sohl uh, wangin ma ku in sifil folokunang eman sohl. Ouinge wanginla sripa, ac fal in sisila in longyuki ye nien mwet uh.
14You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.
14“Kowos kalem nu sin faclu nufon. Sie siti su musaiyukla fin eol uh, tia ku in wikla.
15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket. Instead, they set it on a stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
15Wangin mwet akosak sie lam ac filiya ye sie ahlu, a el ac filiya fin sukan lam uh, yen ma kalem kac ac tolak in lohm uh nufon.
16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
16Ouinge, kowos sang kalem lowos in tolak ye mutun mwet uh, tuh elos in ku in liye orekma wo lowos, ac kaksakin Papa tomowos su inkusrao.
17Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them.
17“Nimet nunku mu nga tuku in kunausla Ma Sap lal Moses ac mwe luti lun mwet palu uh. Nga tia tuku in kunausla, a in akpwayei mwe luti lalos.
18For I tell you truly, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single jot, not a stroke of a pen, will disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.
18Pwayena nga fahk nu suwos, lah ke lusenna pacl ma kusrao ac faclu ac oan uh, sie leta ku akul srisrik ke Ma Sap uh koflana wanginla, nwe ke akpwayeyuk ma nukewa.
19So then, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do likewise will be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever practices and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
19Ke ma inge, kutena mwet su tia akos kutena sin ma sap uh, finne ma sap srisrik se, ac luti nu sin mwet saya in oru oapana, el ac fah srik liki nukewa in Tokosrai lun kusrao. Ac kutena mwet su akos ma sap ac luti nu sin mwet saya in oru oapana, el pa ac yohk in Tokosrai lun kusrao.
20For I tell you that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
20Nga fahk nu suwos lah moul in oaru lowos in oru ma lungse lun God, fin tia wo liki moul lun mwet luti ke Ma Sap ac mwet Pharisee, kowos fah tia ku in ilyak nu in Tokosrai lun kusrao.
21You have heard that it was said to the ancients, ‘Do not murder’ and ‘Anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’
21“Kowos lohng lah fwack nu sin mwet in pacl meet ah mu, ‘Nik kom akmas; kutena mwet su akmas ac fah utukyak el nu ke nununku.’
22But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, ‘Raca,’ will be subject to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be subject to the fire of hell.
23So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you,
23Ke ma inge kom fin akola in oru mwe kisa lom nu sin God fin loang in kisa uh, ac kom esamak ingo lah oasr ma sufal lom nu sin mwet lim,
24leave your gift there before the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.
24filiya mwe kisa lom an sisken loang an, ac folokla akwoyela inmasrlomtal meet, na kom fah foloko ac oru mwe kisa lom nu sin God.
25Reconcile quickly with your adversary, while you are still on the way to court. Otherwise, he may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison.
25“Fin oasr mwet akola in us kom nu ke nununku, kom in aksaye akwoyela inmasrlomtal meet liki komtal sun acn in nununku. Kom fin tia, na el ac ku in eiskomyang nu ye mutun mwet nununku, su ac fah eiskomyang nu sin mwet roso, ac elos fah siskomyang nu in presin.
26Truly I tell you, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny.
26Pwayena nga fahk nu sum, kom ac fah muta we nwe ke na kom akfalyela ma nukewa pakpuki kom in moli uh.
27You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’
27“Kowos lohng tuh fwack tari, ‘Nik kom kosro.’
28But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
28A inge nga fahk nu suwos: Kutena mwet su ngetang nu sin sie mutan ac oasr nunak in kena lal nu sel, el orek kosro nu sel tari in nunak lun insial.
29If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.
29Ke ma inge, atronmotom layot fin akkolukye kom, tipalla ac sisla! Ac wo nu sum in tuhlac sie ip ke monum, liki na monum nufon in sisila nu in hell.
30And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to depart into hell.
30Lac poum layot fin akkolukye kom, pakela ac sisla! Ac wo nu sum in wanginla la poum, liki na monum nufon in som nu in hell.
31It has also been said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.’
31“Oasr pac fahkya meet, ‘Kutena mwet su sisla mutan kial, enenu in orala sie pwepu in fahsrelik ac sang nu sin mutan sac.’
32But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, brings adultery upon her. And he who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.
33Again, you have heard that it was said to the ancients, ‘Do not break your oath, but fulfill your vows to the Lord.’
33“Kowos lohng tari ma fwack nu sin mwet uh in pacl meet, ‘Nik kom kunausla wulela lom, a kom in akfalye ma kom wulela kac nu sin Leum God.’
34But I tell you not to swear at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne;
34A inge nga fahk nu suwos: Nik kom fulahk ke kutena ma ke kom orala wulela lom nu sin God. Tia ke kusrao, tuh nien muta lun God;
35or by the earth, for it is His footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
35ac tia ke faclu, tuh faclu ma loangeyen nial; ac tia pac ke acn Jerusalem, tuh acn we siti lun Tokosra fulat.
36Nor should you swear by your head, for you cannot make a single hair white or black.
36Nimet kom fulahk pac ke insifom, tuh kom tia ku in orala soko aunsuf in fasrfasr ku sroalsroal.
37Simply let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ Anything more comes from the evil one.
38You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye and tooth for tooth.’
38“Kowos lohng tari oakwuk meet ah: ‘Atronmuta molin atronmuta, ac wihs molin wihs.’
39But I tell you not to resist an evil person. If someone slaps you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also;
Mwet se fin puokya la oalum layot, sang pac elan puokya layen lese an.
40if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well;
40Ac mwet se fin uskomyak nu in nununku in eisla nuknukfon lom an, sang pac nu sel coat lom an.
41and if someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.
41Ac sie mwet fin sap kom in us pak lal uh ke mael se, kom welul us ke mael luo.
42Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.
43You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor’ and ‘Hate your enemy.’
43“Kowos lohng tuh fwack tari, ‘Lungse mwet tulan lom, ac srunga mwet lokoalok lom.’
44But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
44A inge nga fahk nu suwos: Lungse mwet lokoalok lowos ac pre kaclos su kalyei kowos,
45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
45tuh kowos fah ku in pangpang tulik nutin Papa tomowos su inkusrao. Tuh El oru kalmen faht lal uh in sreya mwet koluk ac mwet wo oana sie, ac El sang pac af nu fin mwet suwohs ac mwet sesuwos.
46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Do not even tax collectors do the same?
46Efu ku God Elan sot mwe moul nu suwos fin kowos lungse na mwet ma lungse kowos? Finne mwet ma eisani tax uh elos oru pac ouingan!
47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even Gentiles do the same?
47Ac kowos fin paing mwet kawuk lowos mukena, kowos tia sie liki mwet ngia, mweyen finne mwet pegan uh, elos oru pac ouingan!
48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
48Kowos enenu in suwosna, oana ke Papa tomowos inkusrao El suwosna.
