Galatians 4

Berean Standard Bible
Baibal Olcim (Matupi Chin)
1What I am saying is that as long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a slave, although he is the owner of everything.
1Rhopangkung te cahmang la a om khui boeih atah sal khaw, boei khaw, aka om boeih te a tanglue tloe moenih ka ti coeng.
2He is subject to guardians and trustees until the date set by his father.
2Tedae pa kah a tuetang duela imtawt neh hnokhoem kut hmuiah a om sak.
3So also, when we were children, we were enslaved under the basic principles of the world.
3Te dongah mamih khaw cahmang la n'om uh vaengah Diklai kah a niing hmuiah sal aka bi la n'om?
4But when the time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,
4Tedae a tue a soepnah loh ha pawk vaengah Pathen loh a capa te han tueih. Huta lamloh om tih olkhueng hmuiah phoe.
5to redeem those under the law, that we might receive our adoption as sons.
6And because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!”
Abba apa tila aka pang a capa kah Mueihla te Pathen loh mamih thinko ah han tueih.
7So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, you are also an heir through God.
8Formerly, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those who by nature are not gods.
8Tedae Pathen ana ming pawt vaengah a coengnah loh pathen la aka om pawt rhoek kah sal na bi uh.
9But now that you know God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you are turning back to those weak and worthless principles? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again?
9Tedae Pathen te mingpha coeng ta. Te dongah Pathen loh lat m'ming ta. Metlae tattloel neh a niing aka khodaeng taengla koep na mael uh.
10You are observing special days and months and seasons and years!
10Khohnin khaw, hla khaw, khoning khaw, kum khaw na yaeh uh coeng.
11I fear for you, that my efforts for you may have been in vain.
11Nangmih ham ka thakthae he a hoeihae pawt khaming tila nangmih taengah ka birhih.
12I beg you, brothers, become like me, for I became like you. You have done me no wrong.
Kai nan veet uh moenih.
13You know that it was because of an illness that I first preached the gospel to you.
13Tedae a cuekca kah nangmih taengah ka phong te pumsa kah vawtthoek dongah tila na ming uh.
14And although my illness was a trial to you, you did not despise or reject me. Instead, you welcomed me as if I were an angel of God, as if I were Christ Jesus Himself.
14Ka pumsa ah nangmih ham noemcainah om cakhaw nan hnaelcoe uh pawt tih nan tuei uh moenih. Tedae Pathen kah puencawn bangla, Jesuh Khrih bangla kai nan doe uh.
15What then has become of your blessing? For I can testify that, if it were possible, you would have torn out your eyes and given them to me.
15Te koinih nangmih kah yoethennah tah menim? A phoeng mai koinih na mik te na koeih uh tih kai nan paek uh mako tila nangmih taengah ka laipai.
16Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth?
16Nangmih ham oltak ka thui dongah nangmih kah rhal la ka coeng a?
17Those people are zealous for you, but not in a good way. Instead, they want to isolate you from us, so that you may be zealous for them.
17Nangmih taengah a thatlai uh te thuem pawh.
18Nevertheless, it is good to be zealous if it serves a noble purpose—at any time, and not only when I am with you.
18Tedae a then la thatlai ham tah then yoeyah ngawn.
19My children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you,
19Ka ca rhoek nangmih ah Khrih a kap duela u ham nim ka bung a tloh bal.
20how I wish I could be with you now and change my tone, because I am perplexed about you.
20Te dongah nangmih taengah om laeh ka ngaih coeng. Ka ol te thovael ham khaw nangmih soah ka ingang coeng.
21Tell me, you who want to be under the law, do you not understand what the law says?
21Kai taengah thui uh lah .
22For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman.
22Abraham loh capa panit a khueh te a daek coeng ta. Pakhat te salnu kah tih pakhat te aka loeih nu kah ta.
23His son by the slave woman was born according to the flesh, but his son by the free woman was born through the promise.
23Tedae salnu kah te tah pumsa la a cun. Aka loeih nu kah te tah olkhueh lamloh a cun.
24These things serve as illustrations, for the women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children into slavery: This is Hagar.
24Amih rhoi loh a tueng sak te om. Amih rhoi tah paipi panit la om. Pakhat tah Sinai tlang lamkah tih sal la a cun. Anih tah Hagar ni.
25Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present-day Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children.
26But the Jerusalem above is free, and she is our mother.
26Tedae soben Jerusalem tah aka loeih ni. Anih tah mamih kah manu ni.
27For it is written: “Rejoice, O barren woman, who bears no children; break forth and cry aloud, you who have never travailed; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband.”
27A daek coeng te ta, Cakol la cacun mueh aw uum khungdaeng lamtah bung aka tlo pawt aw tamhoe lah. Va aka khueh lakah khosoek kah camoe tah taoe ping ta.
28Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise.
28Manuca rhoek nangmih ngawn tah Isaak bangla olkhueh kah ca rhoek la na om uh.
29At that time, however, the son born by the flesh persecuted the son born by the Spirit. It is the same now.
29Tedae pumsa la a cun loh mueihla la cun te a hnaemtak vanbangla tahae ah khaw om van tangloeng.
30But what does the Scripture say? “Expel the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman’s son.”
30Tedae cacim loh, “Salnu neh a capa te haek laeh. Salnu kah a capa te aka loeih nu kah capa taengah phaeng loengloeng boel saeh,” a ti te ta.
31Therefore, brothers, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.
31Te dongah manuca rhoek salnu kah voel pawt tih aka loeih kah ca rhoek la n'om uh.
