1Then David conferred with all his leaders, the commanders of hundreds and of thousands.
1И советовался Давид с тысяченачальниками, сотниками и со всеми вождями,
2And he said to the whole assembly of Israel, “If it seems good to you, and if this is of the LORD our God, let us send word far and wide to the rest of our brothers in all the land of Israel, and also to the priests and Levites in their cities and pasturelands, so that they may join us.
2и сказал Давид всему собранию Израильтян: если угодно вам, и если на то будет воля Господа Бога нашего, пошлем повсюду к прочим братьям нашим, по всей земле Израильской, и вместе с ними к священникам и левитам, в города и селения их, чтобы они собрались к нам;
3Then let us bring back the ark of our God, for we did not inquire of Him in the days of Saul.”
3и перенесем к себе ковчег Бога нашего, потому что во дни Саула мы не обращались к нему.
4And because this proposal seemed right to all the people, the whole assembly agreed to it.
4И сказало все собрание: “да будет так”, потому что это дело всему народу казалось справедливым.
5So David assembled all Israel, from the River Shihor in Egypt to Lebo-hamath, to bring the ark of God from Kiriath-jearim.
5Так собрал Давид всех Израильтян, от Шихора Египетского до входа в Емаф, чтобы перенести ковчег Божий из Кириаф-Иарима.
6David and all Israel went up to Baalah of Judah (that is, Kiriath-jearim) to bring up from there the ark of God the LORD, who is enthroned between the cherubim—the ark that is called by the Name.
6И пошел Давид и весь Израиль в Кириаф-Иарим, что в Иудее, чтобы перенести оттуда ковчег Бога, Господа, седящего на Херувимах, на котором нарицается имя Его.
7So they carried the ark of God from the house of Abinadab on a new cart, with Uzzah and Ahio guiding the cart.
7И повезли ковчег Божий на новой колеснице из дома Авинадава; и Оза и Ахия вели колесницу.
8David and all the Israelites were celebrating before God with all their might, with songs and on harps and lyres, with tambourines, cymbals, and trumpets.
8Давид же и все Израильтяне играли пред Богом из всей силы, с пением, на цитрах и псалтирях, и тимпанах, и кимвалах и трубах.
9When they came to the threshing floor of Chidon, Uzzah reached out and took hold of the ark, because the oxen had stumbled.
9Когда дошли до гумна Хидона, Оза простер руку свою, чтобы придержать ковчег, ибо волы наклонили его.
10And the anger of the LORD burned against Uzzah, and He struck him down because he had put his hand on the ark. So he died there before God.
10Но Господь разгневался на Озу, и поразил его за то, что он простер руку свою к ковчегу; и он умер тут же пред лицем Божиим.
11Then David became angry because the LORD had burst forth against Uzzah; so he named that place Perez-uzzah, as it is called to this day.
11И опечалился Давид, что Господь поразил Озу. И назвал то место поражением Озы; так называется оно и до сего дня.
12That day David feared God and asked, “How can I ever bring the ark of God to me?”
12И устрашился Давид Бога в день тот, и сказал: как я внесу к себе ковчег Божий?
13So he did not move the ark with him to the City of David; instead, he took it aside to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.
13И не повез Давид ковчега к себе, в город Давидов, а обратил его к дому Аведдара Гефянина.
14Thus the ark of God remained with the family of Obed-edom in his house for three months, and the LORD blessed his household and everything he owned.
14И оставался ковчег Божий у Аведдара, в доме его, три месяца, и благословил Господь дом Аведдара и все, что у него.
